The Sportsheets Neck and Wrist Restraint from Sex Toy is a neat little set. Both the boyfriend and I love bondage (as I’m sure you could guess) yet we never have owned anything like this set. We have tons of collars, and tons of wrist cuffs, but we don’t really own anything that is intended to work to restraint the wrists to the neck. This set is made from nylon strands, metal D-rings, and neoprene and velcro for the cuffs/collar. The set comes in three separate parts – there’s the cuffs, the long nylon strand with the D-rings, and the collar. Each part comes apart from each other. This makes all three pieces be able to stand-alone and be used for other uses.
The set all comes packaged, like most Sportsheets items do, in a small square plastic packaging with the sealed outside edges. It shows a male and female having fun with the cuffs on the front with both of their wrists restrained in it, and on the back, there’s more pictures as well as the features of the set are listed. It’s possible to store this set back in the original packaging, but it’s a little bit of a pain since in the beginning it was all nicely folded. The packaging isn’t really discreet at all, though, so you may choose to store this in another area if being discreet is important.
I figure this review will work best if I review each piece separately then bring it all together.
The cuffs are a standard set of Sportsheets cuffs. The cuffs are made of neoprene material which is soft, squishy, and slightly padded. The cuffs are fastened by use of a long velcro strip. Because of how these can be velcro’ed, I’d easily say this should fit most people’s wrists – regardless of size. The cuffs then have a nylon strap that contains an O-ring on both cuffs. This set of cuffs also includes a small clip that is attached on one end to one of the O-rings with a snap hook on the other side of it. This allows you to connect the two cuffs together. Unfortunately, it’s a pain in the butt to get the clip to come off the cuff, so if you want to play with the two cuffs not attached to each other, you just have to deal with that small clip hanging off of it. The cuffs hold firm, and while it’d be possible to unvelcro or squirm out of the cuffs, it would take a bit of effort, so this will work reasonably to restraint someone.
The nylon strand is just a really long piece of two nylon strips sewn together. (It’s wide too at about two inches wide) Every two inches down the strand, there is a D-ring sewn into the large strand. This gives you good options on what height you want to use your cuffs with. Despite lots of movement and pulling while in this, the strand’s D-rings still work amazingly. I wouldn’t expect them to pull out at all. The top of the strand has a loop where the collar slides in, and at the bottom, there’s a lone D-ring hanging where you could choose to attach a collar for some 69-esque oral sex or other fun ideas.
The collar is just a regular collar. The inside lining is made from neoprene – the same stuff as the cuffs. It also has the velcro to fasten it shut. Unlike the cuffs, though, it has no rings or anything on it – it just slips through the loop on the top of the nylon strand.then velcros onto someone’s neck. It can get a bitch sweaty if worn for awhile, but otherwise, it’s fine. The width of the collar is slightly wide, but it’s also flexible, so it doesn’t end up causing scratching or itching. The collar is long enough that it should fit most people’s necks.
The set works amazingly together. Really. The collar slips right into the loop at the top of the nylon strand then velcros around the person’s neck. Then you slip the clip of one of the wrist restraints through two of the D-rings along the strand. From there, you have your customizable restraints. If you decide something is too high or something too low, it’s extremely easy to adjust every part of this set including the cuff set. Like the front shows, you could even choose to get another set of cuffs and have your partner strapped to the nylon strand as well. In fact, since the nylon strand is so long, if you strap your partner onto the bottom-most tier, it’d be the perfect height for touching the genitals. Since the nylon strand uses D-rings, you could attach mostly anything to it including ankles, waists, collars, or anything else.
When it comes to actually wearing it, it was pretty comfortable overall. At first, it’s most comfortable. It’s enjoyable to feel so restrained, and the boyfriend says that it’s fine at first as long as you have the wrists at a comfortable level. With time, depending on where your wrists are, you might find that it gets uncomfortable. (At waist-height or lower, it ends up pulling more on your neck, but with above-waist, the blood will run out of your wrist.) When it pulls more on your neck, the back of your neck will end up getting sore which will usually require you to take the set off. However, that didn’t happen with us until about 45 minutes in. (I made him sit in this for playing his video games – it’s the perfect type of bondage for it.) Of course, adding another set of hands to the nylon strand is going to pull more on the neck.
Cleaning is extremely easy. Since the entire set is waterproof, you don’t have to worry about having a problem. You can just warm water and antibacterial soap to clean it up. The velcro should be dried before you put it away for storage to avoid harming it. Lubricants and other messes are okay near this one.
The cuffs are fun to wear too. They have the soft, neoprene on the inside, so they’re padded and squishy. The entire set is waterproof as well in case you decide to take your fun to the shower. (Be careful with the positions though. With the hands tied up, it’d be much more dangerous to fall. I’d recommend a bath inside of a shower to play with these.) We both really enjoy the set, it’s attractive-looking on him, and it’s easy to adjust to multiple body types which is always great.
