Snail Vibe Review

Tired of rabbit vibrators that don’t actually hit both pleasure spots at the same time? Tired of deep, uncomfortable penetration from your rabbit vibrator if you want actually enjoy the clitoral vibrations? If that’s you, this Snail Vibe review might give you some of the answers you’re seeking.

That is, the Snail Vibe‘s unique, “unrolling vibrator” design makes for constant clitoral contact. As the clitoral vibrator meets the resistance of your body, the wiggly shaft that holds it in place slowly releases its tension. The vibe keeps constant contact with the clitoris while the toy’s insertable shaft is slowly inserted further and further into the body.

This design is unique enough that it won the Innovative Sex Toy of the Year in 2020 from the XBIZ Europa Awards. While a few other vibrators offer a similar flexible clitoral arm that allows for similar constant clitoral contact, the Snail Vibe does it in a unique way that makes penetration a choose-your-own adventure.

Because the clitoral vibration motor is located right at the tip of the insertable shaft by default, you can choose as much (or as little) penetration as you’d like. You’ll still have both the insertable shaft and the clitoral vibrations to enjoy. This is unique from most other flexible clit-arm rabbit vibrators that require a base depth of penetration before you can enjoy the clitoral vibrations.

Snail Vibe Review: The Basics

The Snail Vibe includes two vibration motors; one motor is in the clitoral ball with the other in the tip of the insertable shaft. Each motor includes 5 vibration intensities and 5 vibration patterns, and each motor can be individually controlled with the 4-button control panel on the handle “ball” of the Snail Vibe. The manufacturer claims the vibrations do not get louder than 45dB.

The entire length of the toy is coated in silicone. No part of the toy feels soft or squishy; it’s likely a silicone outer layer that covers up plastic inner layers. This is a very rigid, firm type of silicone. The clitoral arm’s connecting loop wiggles around, but the rest of the toy is rock solid with no movement or plushiness.

Because of this rabbit vibrator’s unique design, your penetration depth is a choose-your-own adventure. You need to penetrate at least 1.5″ worth of depth to make clitoral contact with the clitoral vibrator, but you can go all the way to its full depth at 5.5″ if you prefer. The diameter of this penetrating shaft is 1.4″ with a tapered tip that helps make it a bit easier to initially slide inside.

The Snail Vibe is USB rechargeable with a charging cord that pierces the toy’s silicone layer to charge. It offers a full hour of use time, and it takes 2 hours to charge up after you’ve depleted its charge.

Babeland states the Snail Vibe has a 10 year manufacturer’s warranty, but I can find no information or mention of it on the product’s packaging or manufacturer’s website. The sex toy’s instruction manual states warranty exclusions, but I can find no actual sign of any warranty being promised.

Does It Work as Advertised?

I’ll admit; the design is a little chonky, and I’ve been a bit wary that it’ll work exactly as advertised. It almost looks a little “too good to be true”.

But after multiple tests for my Snail Vibe review, I’m somewhat surprised to report that it does work exactly as marketed.

The clitoral vibrator’s connecting arm is wiggly enough to make the vibrator unroll with penetration. It does so smoothly and with minimal resistance.

The vibrations in the tip of the shaft (at the “bended material” area) and the clitoral ball are decently powerful, and you can feel both of them easily during use.

My hand holds the ball "handle" of the vibrator where the controls are with the insertable shaft closest to the camera like the vibrator would be held for use. For my Snail Vibe review article.

The “ball” handle is unique, but it does allow for a pretty easy grip of the vibrator, making it really easy to shove the toy inside of yourself for fast, quick thrusting that feels less tiring on my wrist than the usual sex toy handles.

My two fingers laid on top of the insertable end of the Snail Vibe. It's exactly two fingers thick.

Okay…but How Does It Feel?

This is partially where I have a few qualms with the Snail Vibe – but those qualms may be unique to me, and what I want from my rabbit vibrator.

First disclosure: I’m not a huge penetration gal. I can enjoy it on occasion, and it does feel good when I do it, but it’s not required for me to for powerful orgasms. Since I’m sensitive to UTIs, I generally only do penetration when I think it’s going to add some really good sensations for me. This means I’m almost always limit myself to intercourse with a partner, g-spot toys, or sex toy testing toys.

That’s where I get a bit stuck with the Snail Vibe. The completely-straight shaft doesn’t hit my g-spot. It comes nowhere near the vicinity of my g-spot. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t even designed to hit a g-spot.

For me, this makes it difficult to want to pull out the Snail Vibe very often. I mostly enjoy penetration to hit that innermost erogenous zone.

If you, however, mostly enjoy rabbit vibrators because you love penetration to itself, this may not be a complaint you have with the Snail Vibe at all. You might be the happiest camper. Unlike most rabbit vibes, the Snail Vibe is entirely straight. This means you don’t have to fuss with curves at all. There’s no chance of a g-spot curve accidentally doinking a pubic bone, and you don’t have to use that exhausting “scooping” wrist motion to get the vibrator to stay inside of your body. You can simply shove this one in and out, and it’ll do its job exactly as advertised.

I also love that the clitoral vibrator arm is “loose” enough that you can really go at it. You don’t have to limit yourself to shallower, slower thrusts. The Snail Vibe can keep up with that exhausting, unbelievably-fast thrusting speed that you’d expect from a sex machine turned up to max. It continues to make constant contact with the clitoris while doing it, and since you won’t accidentally hit a pubic bone, you can take up that pounding, intense pace with minimal fear.

There is one big thing to note about the clitoral arm, though: it will always rest on your clitoris with a bit (or a lot) of pressure. Since the clitoral arm doesn’t begin to unfold until that clitoral vibrator hits the resistance of your clitoris, your clitoris will always have some pressure from that clitoral vibrator.

For me, this is a god-send. I absolutely love firm clitoral pressure. Give me a grinder toy, and I’ll be the happiest camper. The Snail Vibe doesn’t give me as much firm pressure as I’d personally prefer, but it’s still good.

If you aren’t someone who loves clitoral pressure, though, keep this in mind. A lot of rabbit vibrators use those soft, wiggly bunny ears for clitoral stimulation. If you’ve gotten attached to their lighter touch, the firm touch of the Snail Vibe may not be your favorite.

The Vibrations on this Snail Vibrator

That all being said, the vibrations are surprisingly powerful. One motor is located in the “ball” of the clitoral arm while the other motor is located right at the tip of the penetrating shaft at the area where you can see the material fold over itself.

The vibrations from the clitoral ball are much more powerful than the vibrations in the insertable shaft. If I had to pick a spot where the manufacturers would add more power, that’s what I’d want, so I can’t say I’m complaining.

The vibrations within that clitoral ball are pretty solid. They’re on the lower side of power with enough intensity to get me to easily orgasm on the 2nd and 3rd intensity (out of 5). They feel relatively rumbly, and the constant pressure changes that come with the Snail Vibe’s design keep the vibrations from getting too numbing.

The insertable vibrations are gentler. They add some pleasure to penetration, but I wouldn’t say they’re a must-have for me. The vibrations feel best when I’m playing with shallower, lighter penetration. I start to notice them less as I’m playing with the Snail Vibe at deeper depths.

Each motor is individually controlled with buttons located on the handle ball of the vibrator. There’s a power/steady intensity button for each motor located next to a pattern button for each motor.

Each motor control also includes an LED backlight that flips on when the motor is turned on. I really appreciated this feature. It meant that my partner could tell which motor was on (usually, for me, the clitoral one) and simply control that instead of being confused as to which control button set went to which motor.

The control buttons press down easily and with zero complaint. You’ll be using the Snail Vibe in seconds after receiving it; it’s really easy to understand.

Noise-wise, the Snail Vibe is pretty quiet. You could easily get away with using this in your home while someone else was home. With the door shut and any level of background noise (like someone watching TV), the noise essentially disappears. It gets even quieter when you have the Snail Vibe inserted into the body. There’s no aggravating, wake-the-house “whirring” noise like you get with most motion-packed rabbit vibrators.

Snail Vibe Review: A Surprisingly Unique Use

Like I mentioned, I’m not huge for penetration. I do, however, enjoy clitoral vibrations quite a bit. I enjoy them even more when they’re hands-free. And the unique design of the Snail Vibe actually makes that possible in a way I wouldn’t have expected.

When sitting down on a chair, I intentionally “miss the hole”, and shove the Snail Vibe’s insertable shaft underneath the weight of my ass (between the cheeks). Predictably, as I do this, the vibrator’s clitoral arm unfurls.

This leaves the Snail Vibe’s clitoral ball vibrating up against my clitoris while the weight of my body rests on the insertable shaft. This anchors the vibrator in place making for hands-free vibrations with zero effort on my part.

I can simply sit still and enjoy the vibrations, or I can tilt my hips towards the clitoral ball, applying pressure to my clitoris with the vibrations.

It has actually become one of my favorite ways to use the Snail Vibe. The vibrations in the clitoral ball are strong enough that I can orgasm on the 2nd or 3rd intensity easily with this method.

I really didn’t expect to find this bonus method, but I love it.

The Snail Vibe snugly tucked away in the included zippered carrying case. There are Velcro ties that secure the vibrator and charger in place and keep them from sliding around.

Storing your Snail Vibrator

Making it easy to travel with this vibrator, the Snail Vibe comes with a hard-shell, zip-up case. Honestly, it’s a really high-quality case that makes me miss the olden days of sex toys where sex toys often came with this type of accessory.

The Snail Vibe fits comfortably into this case, and it stays put with the help of a velcro strap built into the wall of the case. The charging cable and instruction manual also fit inside, and you have room to put a smaller-sized lube bottle (4oz or less) inside with the vibrator as well.

The case ends up being about the size of a standard-sized book but with extra length. It doesn’t collapse under weight, and it could easily be stored in your luggage while traveling.

It does say “Snail Vibe” on the outside, though, so don’t think this is your discreet solution for storing your toy.

Summary

Unexpectedly, the Snail Vibe does exactly what it claims to do. The clitoral vibrator ball unfurls with every thrust, keeping constant contact with the clitoris while it does it. This unique design means that you can enjoy as much (or as little) penetration as you’d like; the clitoral vibrator will still stay in contact with your clit.

I just wish that the penetrating shaft had any sort of g-spot curve to it. The straight-on shaft slides inside the body with minimal resistance, but it doesn’t hit that innermost spot. I’m always seeking g-spot pleasure if I slide something inside, so the Snail Vibe won’t ever be that rabbit vibe I reach for.

That being said, I did find a love for the Snail Vibe in an unexpected, hands-free pleasure method. The clitoral vibrations are powerful enough for orgasms with penetration left out of the equation. This hands-free hack has really elevated how much I like the Snail Vibe.

Powerful vibrations with a unique clitoral vibration attachment makes the Snail Vibe a pretty solid choice. I’d recommend it most for people who really love straight in-and-out penetration and semi-firm clitoral pressure. It’s an especially good choice for people who love penetration but don’t necessarily want it as deep as most rabbit vibrators want to go.
