One of the most organic personal lubricants out there, the Sliquid Organics Natural H2O lubricant is a water-based lubricant that comes in a 125ml bottle. Glycerine and paraben-free, this lubricant is 100% vegan and never tested on animals. Like all water-based lubricants, it’s safe for use with condoms and any other safer sex barriers. It comes in a plastic, slightly-flexible bottle with a pop top.
I think I’ve fallen in love with most of the lubricants that Sliquid offers. I tend to be sensitive to infections, so I tend to try and avoid lubricants that will mess with things. Similarly, I tend to hate cleaning up tons of messes afterwards, so I want a lubricant that feels light and absorbs into the skin after everything is done. From what I’ve tried, the Sliquid lubricants pretty much all fit that bill.
The Sliquid Organics Natural H2O has definitely met and exceeded my expectations. It has a nice consistency to it. It’s not super thick, but it’s thicker than water. It has a nice consistency that pours onto where you put it, but it drips down very, very slowly. This easily gives you time to pour it where you want it, put down the bottle, and then spread around the lubricant before it’s actually moved. This is pretty much the perfect consistency for use. If you don’t want to spread it around, it works just fine to pour it into an area and allow your intercourse to get the lubricant where you want it to go.
This lubricant doesn’t really seem to have much of a taste or scent, either. That’s definitely a positive, and it ends up feeling more like a natural extension of things rather than a chemical, annoying sensation. It’s great.
Plus, this lubricant lasts pretty well. It doesn’t last forever, but it lasts longer than a lot of other water-based lubricants that get gummy or dry up really quickly. Even when this dries up, it doesn’t get gummy. You just need to reapply some’more when it dries up. Honestly, though, I haven’t needed to apply it a second time except once or twice during the entire time I’ve been using it. For standard sessions that aren’t going too long, I doubt you’ll need to reapply as long as you use a good amount of lubricant to start with.
On that note, you don’t need a ton of lubricant to get the slickness you’ll need. You pretty much just need a large drop of lubricant, and it’ll cover an entire area with ease. Application with this bottle is really simple. It’s plastic and slightly squishy, so you just turn it upside down and squeeze the bottle to get the lubricant to come out. It doesn’t just drizzle out, so you have some control over how much you end up pouring out.
I like knowing that my lubricant is made from organic materials. I’m not particularly trying to go organic, but knowing that it has minimally extra-processed ingredients makes me feel a bit better about avoiding infections. I’ve had absolutely no problem with this lubricant.
My only complaint about the Sliquid Organics Natural Lubricant is the bottle. The plastic bottle is easy to grip, and it’s easy to wash off if you get a bunch of lubricant on the bottle. However, once the lubricant starts to get towards the bottom, it becomes much harder to get the lube out. Some bottles easily can be placed upside down to help get the lube out, but this is not one of them. You either have to use some items to prop up the bottom upside down before use, wait before application for the lube to drip to the bottom of the bottle, or just give up on using all of the lubricant that’s in the bottle. I would really love to see Sliquid come up with a different bottle shape that takes into account some of the issues of using up all of the lubricant in the bottle.
Afterwards, clean-up is really easy. I never worry too much about it, but the excess lubricant pretty much just wipes up. You don’t need to worry about getting out tons of soap and water to get off the excess. Whatever you don’t wipe up will end up absorbing pretty nicely into the skin, and within a couple hours, you won’t even be able to tell you applied lubricant. There is no gummy-ness or gross-ness to clean up.
The ingredients for this lubricant include: Purified Water, Plant Cellulose (from Cotton), Aloe Barbadensis, Natural Tocopherols (Vitamin E), Cyamopsis (Guar Conditioners), Extracts of Hibiscus, Flax, Alfalfa, Green Tea & Sunflower Seed, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid
Overall, you’re going to like this lubricant. If it came in a different bottle, I’d probably never give this stuff up. As it doesn’t, I really love this lube, but I do get annoyed about the bottle. As for the lubricant itself, it works amazingly, and I’ve never had any reason to dislike it. It easily outperforms most of my other lubricant, absorbs nicely, feels great, and lasts long enough. Thanks to LoveHoney for providing this organic water-based lubricant for my Sliquid Organics Natural H2O Lubricant review.
