Around the same time that I ordered my heart-lock collar from Sub-Shop.com, I also ordered some cuffs for my slave as well. We’ve been looking for a good pair that was semi-cheap, so I figured I’d take advantage of one of their (numerous) sales and get a pair already. I’ve always heard bad things about handcuffs, or anything else that was a small strip of metal that wasn’t large enough to share the burden over the surface of the skin, so I figured some good, large cuffs wouldn’t be fine for me.
Now, I’m the type of person that enjoys making my slave do housework around the house while making them wear something that reminds them of their slavery. Usually this is clothing and a special collar, but I’ve been looking to add more to the mix. That’s where the Slave Utility Wrist Cuffs come in.
When they came in the mail, they were packaged safely and without harm in a plastic baggie. Picking them up out the box, I was surprised by how heavy they actually were. It was a good kind of surprise. What better to remind your slave of their position then to have something heavy and weighing on their wrists all of the time. Mind you, it isn’t all too heavy, but it’s definitely heavier than most of the “beginner” bondage cuffs.
Fastening them onto my slave, they did fit his wrists. While they’re on the smallest setting to be able to fit his wrists, they do fit, and he has tiny wrists. I’ve tried it on other female bottoms as well when they come to visit, and no matter how small their wrist, it always seems to fit them on the smallest setting without coming off, so I would assume it would fit fine on any person of small stature. I tried them on myself (as a plus-size woman) and they fit me just fine as well, so as long as your wrists aren’t abnormally big or abnormally small, you shouldn’t have a problem wearing these. The website says that it will support any wrists from 7.5 up to 10 inches.
After I’d fastened them onto him, I was a little annoyed by the slack that hung off of the ends. If you have bigger wrists, it won’t be that big of a deal, but for his small wrists, the slack hangs off the end without any “catch” to keep it next to the cuff. It doesn’t look like it will be too hard to sew one into the cuffs, so that definitely wasn’t a deal breaker. (Especially at the price.)
He’s never complained about wearing them, and actually says they’re quite comfortable to wear, so aside from the slack that hangs (It’s only about an inch or two), they’re a great pair of cuffs. Something that I enjoy (but others may not) is also the jingling. Since the rings that are on them are so heavy, anytime he moves, the cuffs do jingle. I also consider that a constant reminder of his place in life. It’s not all that annoying, but it is noticable. I think it’s a nice sound and a reminder of his slavery. The cuffs are only 1.5 inches wide when put on the wrists.
We’ve attached the cuffs to places with the rings that are included on the cuffs, and the cuffs do appear to be very well made for heavy bondage and struggling. As much as he struggles, he hasn’t been able to even put any marks of wear or anything onto the cuffs, so I would safely say it handled rough bondage well.
Another great thing is the options you can get with the cuffs. They do come in four different colors – red, black, purple, and pink, and Sub-Shop.com also sells a matching Slave Utility Collar as well, so you can get a matching set if you so choose.
I would definitely recommend these cuffs to any beginner that wants to have some cuffs that are cheap and yet durable enough to last throughout your entire session of learning the ropes of bondage. Sub-shop is constantly running great sales, so it’s easy to get a pair for under $25. If you’re more advanced, I’d say splurge on a fur-lined pair – they sell those as well.
