I’ve been lusting after this showerhead for a very long time. The boyfriend and I take showers together very often, and we’ve always had the problem where one gets the warm water and the other is left out. So when SixtyNineSecrets offered to let me review it, I had to jump on the chance.
The Sex In the Shower Dual Showerhead really is just a shower head. It doesn’t vibrate or anything. However, it’s a little advanced since it has two showerheads that spurt out water instead of just the one. The showerhead itself appears to be made from plastic and honestly looks very well-made. There are two different showerheads attached to one water spout and both showerhead has its own adjustment for the water pressure/stream.
The packaging is pretty basic. it’s in minimal plastic but does have “sex in the shower” all over it, so it’s not exactly discreet. There aren’t any instructions, but it does come with a little instruction book that lists their other Sex In the Shower products: Vibrating Mesh Sponge, Single Locking Suction Handle, Waterproof Harness and Dildo Set, Vibrating Sponge, Dual Locking Suction Handle, Single Locking Suction Foot Rest, and Suction Cup Hand Cuffs. It also lists the website where you can go and look at all of the different products.
Putting the shower head on is a breeze. You just take off your old shower head and push this one to the water spout then rotate the top piece until it grips onto the waterspout on its own. Make sure you tighten the piece all of the way since shower heads falling off just isn’t sexy. Jor had it done within less time than it would have taken him to pee.
Each showerhead’s settings can be individually changed. Both showerheads have the ability for full body spray, pulsating massage, and full body spray with pulsating massage. I’m pretty sure most of you have had a showerhead where you twist the head of it to make the settings change. Maybe it was just my showerhead, but if your hands were wet (and you’re in the shower, they should be), those stupid showerheads were ridiculously hard to change the setting. Something I really liked about the Dual shower head is the fact that it has a little button on the side of each shower head. If pushed down one direct, it does full body spray. If pushed in the opposite direction, it does pulsating massage. If left in the middle, it does full body and pulsating massage at the same time. (The full body spray is the outer spray while the pulsating massage is in the inner spray.) The button is extremely easy to change mid-shower and takes virtually no time to switch its function either.
The three different functions all feel pretty nice. The full body is pretty light, but it still has quite a bit of pressure in it. I just wouldn’t consider it massaging. It definitely soaks you, but it doesn’t apply any pressure while it’s falling. The pulsating massage, on the other hand, has a much smaller covered area, but it really does apply quite a bit of pressure while it’s showering you. The mixed pulsation and full body setting is nice, but it doesn’t provide the full pressure of the regular pulsating or the regular full body. Since both are running, the pressure was sacrificed a little bit.
On that note, I was actually surprised by the pressure of the showerhead. When the boyfriend heard I would be receiving a dual shower head, he was really excited at first. After a couple days of thinking though, he became more disappointed because he thought the two showerheads would sacrifice some of the pressure that comes from having one. I am actually surprised to report that it’s not the case. It has the regular amount of pressure like our one shower head did. It’s just like your average-pressure showerhead – just it has two of them.
The effectiveness of the shower head really does depend on your shower however. Since we’ve added on the dual shower head, the water level of our tub during a shower has risen. That is, the shower can’t drain fast enough to keep up with the amount of water that’s being put in. However, using it is really quite pleasurable, and during the entire (way too long as usual) length of my showers, it never gets above my ankles.
We also have a bathtub/shower combination. In that manner, the shower head could be less effective as well. Because there isn’t enough room for two people to stand side-by-side, the skinnier/shorter person would need to stand nearest the showerhead to allow enough room for the person in back to actually benefit from the stream of the other showerhead. This would probably work best in a traditional stand-alone shower, but the boyfriend and I have made it work multiple times, so I’m sure the bathtub/shower combination could benefit nicely as well.
Other random points: Both shower heads are extremely easy to adjust. It doesn’t cut off the flow to adjust them, and even with soaked hands, they’re easy to grip and move without much effort in the slightest. After you shut off your shower, the showerheads will drip for about ten seconds while they get the excess water out. While it’s not much of a big deal, I’ve never had it in a shower before so I thought it was worth mentioning. Jor also says to add that this is the best sex toy I’ve ever reviewed, and that he will love this for years to come. So far, it hasn’t moved off of the shower head since we installed it.
Last point I have: I’m not sure how eco-friendly this is. Of course, the packaging says “Conserve water. Never shower alone” and that makes a good point. While the shower head obviously uses more water than a regular shower head, there are (usually) two people in the shower. It’s up to you to make your own decision on it.
Overall, I recommend this times ten. While it’s a little more expensive than your average shower head, Jor and I both have gotten a ton of use out of this. Between the two of us, it’s been used more times than any other of my sex toys. (I have a vibe that’s competing though.) It’s an amazing purchase, works even if you become single, and allows you to wash your hair and receive a nice, water back massage at the same time. It’s completely worth every penny. This great sex toy store sells this shower accessory, so go purchase the Sex in the Shower Dual Shower Head there. While you’re there, check out their other miscellaneous sex items.
