The Sassy Swirl Squiggle is a California Exotics vibrator. It’s made of a PVC material which does have a scent when taken out of the package. It’s not a strong scent, but it can be smelled if you put your nose up against the material – it just smells like rubber. This toy only comes in purple, is about seven inches long, and has a pretty large diameter of about an inch and 3/4. This vibrator is powered by three AAA batteries.
The packaging for this looks just like all other CalExotics toys. It comes in some blister packaging that’s plastic. The Sassy Swirl Squiggle’s packaging looks about like all CalExotics packaging looks – it isn’t crass looking at all, but it isn’t amazing either. It clearly displays the features on the front of the package. This packaging is not suitable for storage of the toy because it’s plastic. This PVC material tends to stick to the plastic. In fact, in order to get it out of the packaging, I had to shake it upside down quite a few times. It’d be too much of a pain to keep for storage in this packaging.
I’m not sure how I feel about the material for this vibrator yet. It’s definitely squishy and has some flexibility to it, but it does also have the motor on the inside, so it doesn’t bend too much. While the PVC material doesn’t irritate me, I’d imagine it might irritate some other women, but this toy doesn’t have any phthalates which is always a good thing. The texture is also interesting as well – I don’t think I expect as much of a texture as this vibrator ended up having. There’s lots of large swirls around the body of the product especially where the curves of the vibrator as largest – plus, at the top of the toy, there’s a bit of a curve where the material is intended to stimulate the g-spot.
As an interesting addition to this toy, it can be bent at the midsection and it will hold its position. It does take quite a bit of force to bend the toy, though, so I sincerely doubt you’d be able to change the bend mid-use. (It comes back to the center point pretty easily, it’d just be bending it again that would be the problem.) I’m honestly not sure what the point of this bending is. Yes, the toy will move with you a bit during use, but it seems to center itself pretty quickly with any sort of pressure. It bends both sideways and forward and backwards. After the light pressure is exerted, it will stay slightly bent, but not nearly as bent as you had it. The bending does not effect the vibrations.
It’s pretty easy to insert the batteries on this. You just open up the battery compartment which is located at the base of this vibrator, take out the little battery tray, and slip in the three AAA batteries. It slips back in really easily. It has a waterproof seal, but I can’t honestly say that I trust it to stay waterproof in the water – splashproof definitely though.
The vibrations on this one are a little bit awkward to control. There’s a little turn-looking handle at the bottom of the vibrator and on the bottom of that is two seperate buttons. They actually look like one button, so it took me awhile to figure out they were two. One of the buttons (there’s no markings to set them apart and the toy looks the same from both sides.) is the dedicated “on/off” button. If you press that button, it will turn right off. The other button is the button that changes the vibration patterns. It’s really a basic set-up. The vibrator, for some reason, starts off on the highest steady vibration set-up but then slowly moves down two steps to the softest one. This causes a problem because you start down on soft, but then you have to cycle through all other 7 of the vibration patterns to get back up to the next strongest one again. It was just bad design – I’ve never seen anyone start on high and go down.
The buttons are also kindof confusing during play. Sometimes I want to change the vibrations, but instead I accidentally turn the thing off – not such a good thing. When you turn it back on, it goes to the next vibration pattern in the series, so you won’t even be on your favorite pattern anymore. All of the vibration of the toy is focused in the head of the vibrator – almost none of it creeps down the body of the shaft – and that’s on high. With the lower settings, the shaft of the toy doesn’t vibrate at all. The vibrations are relatively quiet – they couldn’t be heard through a closed door, but they definitely could be heard in the same room. As for the strength, the vibrations are moderately strong. They aren’t amazingly strong, but they aren’t soft either. A good chunk of the population would have no problem orgasming from the vibrations on this one.
So how was the use? I’m honestly not so sure. Because of my opposition to insertion coupled with the fact that this toy is so huge and has so much drag, it was just downright uncomfortable to insert. People who enjoy a large diameter will love this toy, but I just wanted it nowhere near me. It was not comfortable for insertion and was not comfortable to use. That’s just me though. If you know you enjoy insertion and larger toys, this could very well be one of your favorite toys. The head should be firm enough for good, decent g-spot stimulation as well as it does have a decent curve to it that, for most g-spots, should work great. This would work okay for clitoral stimulation, but it’s a bit big and bulky for that. However, if you enjoy using it for both insertion and clitoral stimulation, it should work fine for both tasks.
To clean this, you just have to use some warm water and antibacterial soap. This should be compatible with both water-based and silicone-based lubricants. For storage, I recommend you keep it somewhere away from the outsider world since this does pick up lint really easily. I wouldn’t recommend the packaging since it’s a pain to deal with.
Overall, I’m just not fond of this vibrator. It was really too large for insertion for me, the material had quite a bit of drag, and the buttons frustrated me. You might have a better experience, but I’d pass on this one. Thanks to CalExotics to sending this to me for review! You can purchase your own Squiggle at EdenFantasys!
