Rose Sex Toy Alternatives

A hand cradles the Rose vibrator underneath running water in a shower. Cute water beads are all over the toy. The person isn't wearing a shirt, but only the abdomen is showing. For my Rose Vibrator alternatives article.

Okay, okay: you’ve heard about the Rose sex toy. Honestly, it isn’t so much “heard about” as “everyone online is gushing about it like it’s the best thing since you discovered sex”. But maybe you’ve been unimpressed, and you’re looking for rose sex toy alternatives.

So, with that in mind, let’s talk about what the rose vibrator is, what sensations it provides, and some Rose sex toy alternatives. Why Rose sex toy alternatives? Well, this super-popular vibrator has been extremely hard to get ahold of – but at the same time, there are forums upon forums of people complaining that the Rose vibrator died pretty suddenly – and pretty early.

So whether you’re unable to get ahold of a Rose sex toy or finally fell in love shortly before it met its maker, let’s look at other options on the market to fulfill your Rose sex toy needs.

What is a Rose Sex Toy Vibrator?

You’ve probably seen this vibrator before – especially if you’re looking for Rose sex toy alternatives. Even if you don’t hang out in the sex toy spheres, this vibrator has bled into the regular parts of the internet – including TikTok.

It’s a small, handheld sex toy that looks like a rose. It’s round in shape, and it has a large, open “hole” in the middle of the “petals” of the rose. It uses air suction sensations instead of vibrations.

How Does a Rose Vibrator Work?

The Rose vibrator has become the trendy classic it is today because it offers a stimulation other than vibrations – and for many people, it’s their first time trying those air suction sensations!

Instead of vibrating, the Rose vibrator uses air suction.

See that hole in the tip of the Rose Vibrator? That hole is hollow with a small motor that controls the air inside this hollow chamber. To use the Rose vibrator, you spread the labia, position your clitoris inside that small hole, and press the Rose vibrator lightly up against the skin to get a good “seal”.

Once you’ve done that, you power on the motor – and the Rose vibrator moves air around the clitoris. It never directly touches the clitoris. How intensely (or where it moves the air!) will vary based on the toy you own. Some Rose vibrator options are much weaker and barely have the motor to support air suction sensations while other Rose vibrator options have enough power to at least let you experience the basic sensations of air suction.

Air suction toys, like the Rose vibrator, are designed to mimic someone wrapping their lips around the clitoris and gently sucking. A Rose vibrator is extremely targeted at the clitoris, and unlike vibrators, it requires a precise fit to get the best sensations. You can generally push a vibrator anywhere near the clitoris and have a great time; with air suction toys, there’s a precise placement spot, angle, and level of pressure that work together to make the “magic sauce” of the sensation.

If your clitoris fits perfectly into the Rose hole (not an easy feat for many) and if your Rose vibrator actually uses air suction sensations, the Rose vibrator avoids overstimulation by never directly touching the super-sensitive nerves of the clitoris. That’s why air suction toys have become a gateway for many people looking to experience multiple orgasms for the first time!

It’s four things: viral trending, the sensations, the look, and the price. Let’s dig into each one:

Viral Trending: You can’t buy a sex toy if you don’t know about it. Because of the Rose vibrators’ extensive marketing campaign, you were probably seeing this vibrator everywhere. Since the Rose vibrator doesn’t look like a sex toy, it could avoid a lot of the standard “filters” that would make it impossible to advertise a sex toy.

Sensations: Like we covered, the Rose vibrator uses air suction instead of vibrations. Air suction is still relatively new (within the last decade), and if you don’t hang out in the sex toy sphere, you may not know about it. So when someone tries air suction for the first time, is paid to gush about how much they loved it, and a new person finds out about this all-new technology, you end up with a repeating pattern, over and over.

The Look: A lot of people are still afraid or uncomfortable owning sex toys. Unlike a 10″ realistic dildo, the Rose vibrator looks harmless and discreet. This playful, approachable look can make it more comfortable for some people to use.

The Price: Unlike the creators of this technology and other powerful toys, the Rose vibrator is priced relatively cheaply. You can get it for under $75 at most places and for most styles. This is a drastic difference to the people who created air suction technology (the Womanizer) whose base line is around $125.

Why Did My Rose Vibrator Die?

The Rose vibrator is what we in the sex toy industry call a “whitelabel” toy. That means everyone and their mother is selling a copy of it.

Essentially, there are lots of factories out there who make these Rose vibrators. This factory reaches out to manufacturers and says “hey bro. I’ll package my Rose vibrator into YOUR brand’s packaging, so it looks like you’ve created it”.

The manufacturer then says “heck yeah. That saves me lots of money in development and production costs since you’re shoving them off the production line en-mass”.

That’s how whitelabeling works. It means the exact same toy can be branded under 300 different brands – but no matter who you buy from, you’re getting the same toy.

This can make it impossible to figure out quality. Your whitelabeled Rose might have come from a factory that does their best, or your whitelabeled Rose might have come from a fly-by-night company that’s just trying to make some cash before they have to shut down due to complaints. “Ideally”, you’d assume that more expensive Rose toys came from the quality-first factories, but that isn’t the case either. Once the brand purchases those whitelabeled toys, they can choose to sell them for whatever they’d like. Like supply and demand economics, brands will claim that their “brand” makes their toys more expensive and price accordingly.

This makes it pretty impossible to tell why your Rose vibrator broke. It could have been faulty parts. It could have been poor waterproof sealing that let water in while you cleaned it. It could simply be old age with a low-quality Lithium battery that’s stopped holding a charge. It could be a poorly-resistant battery that received a spike of electricity during that last thunderstorm that fried the board. It could be hundreds of things.

If you’ve tried these vibrator doesn’t work tips and things aren’t working, I’d next recommend seeing if your Rose vibrator had a manufacturer’s warranty. (In most cases, they don’t.) If you loved the sensations and want more of it, it might be time to look at some of these Rose sex toy alternatives below for a higher-quality option that isn’t whitelabeled.

Rose Sex Toy Alternatives

Looking for a Rose sex toy alternative? Whether you’ve already tried the Rose (and loved it!) and want to know what else is out there, or you liked the idea of the Rose but want to see if someone else did it better, there are some pretty solid Rose sex toy alternatives out there.

Here are some of my recommendations, sorted by what I’d recommend them for:

Budget-Friendly Rose Sex Toy Alternative: Satisfyer Pro 2

Satisfyer Pro 2 Review

If you like the sensation that Rose can provide but want an easier-to-grip design without spending a lot more than you spent on your Rose, I’d recommend the Satisfyer Pro 2.

This handled air suction vibrator offers a lot of the same sensation as the Rose adult toy, but it has a handle and a multi-button design that makes it easier to grip and scroll through sensations.

It’s on-par, in intensity, with most Rose adult toy brands. That is, it won’t be nearly as strong as a genuine Womanizer, but it can offer similar vibrations and suction to your Rose.

As an added bonus, the tip of the Satisfyer Pro 2 is removable and interchangeable. This can let you swap out the tip for a larger/smaller size to get a better fit for your unique anatomy. It also makes for WAY easier cleaning.

You Want More Power: Womanizer Premium 2

Womanizer Premium sitting out on a flat wooden surface outside. Along the handle, pretty sunflowers have been cut and placed. The image shows the blurry background of a field of sunflowers behind the wooden table the Womanizer Premium is on.

Over a decade ago, Womanizer was the company that created and trademarked air suction technology. They fight this patent right tooth and nail, and most air suction vibrators you pick up have had to resort to alternative methods to replicate the gentle suction that the award-winning Womanizers popularized.

This means that many non-Womanizer sex toys just aren’t as strong or as targeted as an air suction vibrator equipped with the patented, proprietary “Pleasure Air Technology” that Womanizer, themselves, created.

So if you love the stimulation that your Rose vibe can give you but want more targeted, powerful stimulation, I’d really recommend picking up a Womanizer sex toy. The Womanizer sex toys are definitely a higher price point, but that comes with higher quality, better-designed toys, product warranties, or high-end features.

The Womanizer Premium 2, for example, has 14 intensity levels (easily controlled by two buttons so you can increase OR decrease intensity at a moment’s notice), removable/interchangeable heads for easier cleaning a better fit, Smart Silence, randomized patterns to reduce adaptation, and a charging level indicator. It also has that nice 5 year manufacturer’s warranty to make sure your sex toy stays in tip-top shape.

It’s more expensive for sure, but if you have to buy a new Rose sex toy every year or so because the motor starts to give out, the Womanizer Premium 2 can actually be cheaper in the long run. (Did you know that I still primarily use the FIRST Womanizer that came to market – Womanizer W100 – from April 2016? It’s still one of my main sex toys almost 10 years later, and it’s still going strong.)

Intercourse-Ready Rose Sex Toy Alternative: We-Vibe Melt

Most air suction vibrators, like the Rose, are large in size. This can make it difficult to use them during intercourse. The Rose vibrator, for example, is about 3″ in length, and it must be positioned perpendicular to the body in order to get the right air suction angle.

This means that a lover’s body pressed close into yours will interrupt the Rose’s sensations or make them impossible to use entirely.

The We-Vibe Melt was intentionally crafted to avoid that problem. Its very small form factor makes it slide better between bodies. Instead of a pronounced tip or large handle, the Melt felts a mostly-flat design, making it easier to fit into smaller spaces.

This makes it one of the best air suction vibrators to use during intercourse.

I will say though: using an air suction vibrator during intercourse can still prove challenging. These suction-focused toys work best when left in place with the perfect seal wrapped around the clitoris. The jumbling of bodies pounding against each other can make it hard to hold the toy in place. If you want to use an air suction toy during intercourse, you’ll probably find that gentler thrusting (or grinding instead of thrusting) will make it much easier to hold the Melt in place.

The We-Vibe Melt is particularly slender, though, so it may not be a great fit if you’re someone who needs extra handle length for accessibility.

Playful Appearance: BeYourLover Joy Cup

Do you love the Rose vibrator because it’s bright, colorful, and non-threatening? Heck yeah. I’m all in favor of anything that makes you smile every time you see your pleasure products.

If that’s you, you might also like the BeYourLover Joy Cup. It offers air suction pleasure in an adorable coffee/bubble tea cup design.

You’re going to find that using the BeYourLover Joy Cup feels somewhat familiar. It has a similar grip-at-the-base handling structure with a hollow tip that’s surrounded by a circular material. The single button at the base makes it simple to control, and its “unassuming” design means that this really is adorable and simultaneously very discreet.

The air suction intensity levels overshadow what the Rose provides. I’m impressed with the intensity the Joy Cup puts out on the first and second intensity levels. It only has three, though, and it’s a bit on the louder side.

As an added bonus, the Joy Cup is also equipped with a pre-heating warming motor (warm for 3 minutes before use for a cozy warmth at the tip). It’s also is compatible with a cell phone app, but I haven’t tried the cell phone app (and I’m unsure if it’s available in English).

It has a one-year manufacturer’s limited warranty with a 10 year manufacturer’s limited guarantee for the longevity of your toy.

Online Control Rose Sex Toy Alternative: Satisfyer Pro 2, Generation 3 with App Control

Satisfyer Pro 2 , generation 3, shown with the included interchangeable tips and the hollow tip cap too.

Does the idea of playing online sound awesome? Are you excited by the idea of a long-distance lover controlling your toy or sync’ing your air suction sensations with music?

If so, there are a few companies that make Bluetooth-enabled air suction toys.

The least expensive is the Satisfyer Pro 2- Generation 3. (It needs to be Generation 3 WITH app control. Generation 2, as mentioned above, is the “last generation” and did not have app control.)

I want to be upfront about the intensities on the Satisfyer Pro 2, Generation 3 though. Bluetooth-enabled toys are expensive. They require receivers and transmitters that your average vibrator doesn’t need. An app requires a manufacturer to finance the on-going security and customer service of an online cell phone app to control the toy too. This usually means a higher price tag.

That is, unless a manufacturer is able to reduce costs of a toy elsewhere.

That’s, essentially, the path that Satisfyer has chosen to take. Their app enabled sex toys are some of the cheapest on the market. That’s because they offer gentler sensations and with shorter battery lives than their competitors at two times the price.

Depending on which Rose adult toy you own, this means the Pro 2, Generation 3 may be gentler in sensation.

This doesn’t, necessarily, have to be a dealbreaker. What the Satisfyer Bluetooth sex toys lack in intensity, they make up for in long-distance capabilities. Their receivers and transmitters are solid, and they follow commands flawlessly. (I’ve never had an issue with connections on my Satisfyer app toys.)

They just aren’t as strong as their pricier competitors.

But if you want to experiment with Bluetooth and online play possibilities without spending a ton of cash, this is the way I’d recommend doing it. You can always spend more in the future if you end up falling in love with online play functionality.

Rabbit Rose Sex Toy Alternatives: Womanizer Duo 2 or LELO Enigma

The LELO Enigma Cruise up against a white background. The pink and purple coloration stands out beautifully against a simple white backdrop, and the focus is entirely on the toy. For my LELO Enigma Cruise review.

I want to preface this recommendation with a disclaimer: your g-spot and your clitoris are uniquely placed on your body.

Rabbit vibrators are designed to pleasure both your clit and g-spot at the same time, in a single toy, for one-handed, effortless pleasure. This sounds like a perfect pipedream, I know.

However, the manufacturer that makes the aforementioned rabbit vibrator has to build it to some sort of spec. This means they choose how far apart the air suction hole and the shaft are and what angle they are positioned in relation to one another.

This means any given dual stimulation vibrator can be a match made in heaven – or a complete frustrating miss.

With that in mind, take this recommendation, but do some deep thinking as to whether you think it’d work for your body or be worth the money.

The Womanizer Duo 2 is one of the best-reviewed rabbit vibrator toys I’ve seen with built-in air suction pleasure. Using the same award-winning tech of the Womanizer, the clitoral stimulator offers orgasmic clit suction while the internal arm of the toy is a targeted g-spot vibrator.

The Womanizer Duo is extremely rigid. The toy does not bend or flex under pressure. This means it can offer really powerful g-spot pressure if it’s the right fit for your body, but it can also feel painful or useless if it’s a poor fit.

If you like the idea of this dual stimulation thing but think your body would do better with a flexible, bendable design, I’d recommend the LELO Enigma instead (pictured above). It has the same premise (air suction clitoral tip on the outside, g-spot vibrator on the inside), but the g-spot vibrator end is bendable and flexible, allowing it to better fit more anatomies.

That being said, because the g-spot vibrator end has more flexibility on the Enigma, it’s unable to provide as much deep stroking g-spot pressure. So it’s a catch-22.
