The RO-120 Mini Mates is a small vibrator made by Rocks Off and sold by Babeland. It comes with two basic parts – the plastic bullet and a elastomer pink covering. As you can guess, the elastomer part is removable from the body of the vibrator. Surprisingly, this is much bigger than it actually looks – I was imagining a larger-than average bullet size. It’s actually a little over five inches long – which is much, much longer than the average bullet. It also has a diameter of over an inch. The pink elastomer covering just slides right onto the bullet.
The packaging is really basic. The elastomer sleeve and the plastic bullet sit in a plastic tray. The plastic tray slides into a cardboard box. This would be suitable for storage, but I honestly wouldn’t recommend it since it’s a pain to take in and out of the box. Since the elastomer sleeve doesn’t collect lint, it doesn’t require any special storage.
I was pretty surprised by the “Bullet” on this. It’s the Rocks Off RO 120 mm which gets lot of hype for being powerful. When I imagine a bullet, I imagine some small thing that fits into small spaces and is really discreet. This isn’t so much a “bullet” as it is a vibrator. It’s about four inches long and less than that in diameter. It’s torpedo-shaped with a semi-pointed end. It’s pretty light-weight, and it’s easily the more user friendly and discreet of the two. There’s a button at the bottom of the bullet that controls the vibration levels.
The vibrations on the bullet are pretty simple but are definitely not the basic patterns you’d expect out a bullet. Most bullets just have the one-speed vibration setting. The bullet’s bottom half by the button unscrews to show the battery compartment which takes two AAA batteries which are included. Unlike most vibes, this one has two little lines etched onto the body of the vibrator and the body of the battery cap to let you know when you’ve fully screwed the cap of the toy back on. This means that when you go to use it in water, you just have to check the little lines to make sure they match up. (From my experience, it appears to actually be waterproof as well – it doesn’t get any water in itself when used underwater.)
This bullet has five different speeds on it. There’s two constant-vibration patterns and three variation patterns. The vibrations on this are relatively strong – I wouldn’t call it amazingly strong, but if you prefer moderate vibrations or softer, this will work great for you. If you need vibrators that use C batteries, this one will just end up being a tease. The body of the bullet itself is really smooth, so it’s easy to use, and it’s long enough to comfortably be held during use. The button on the bottom doesn’t accidentally get pushed, and it’s still easy to push while having lubricated fingers. However, since this is hard plastic with no texture, if your hands are lubricated, it will slip away from you if you are rough. When used with the Elastomer sleeve, the bullet doesn’t have that problem.
The bullet itself works well for clitoral stimulation, and it’s strong enough (and small enough) to be used comfortably with a partner or during sex. There’s no way it could be heard through a closed door, but it could be heard across a quiet room – this means you can’t really take this bullet out in public or anything for play.
The sleeve adds a new change to your traditional bullet. The sleeve fits comfortably onto the bullet and suctions really nicely once on, so you don’t have to worry about the sleeve slipping off mid-use (on that note, it also can be difficult to take off and will require a bit of tugging unless you break the seal of it. This will be near-impossible to slip off while it’s covered in lubricant.) The sleeve is completely smooth to the touch and provides a bit of drag. It has the logo of Rock’s Off imprinted near the base of the sleeve. The sleeve also has a slight curve to the end of it to provide g-spot pleasure.
When put together, I’m a bit confused as to how I feel about this one. It does it end up reaching about the regular length of most vibrators, but I still feel like it falls a bit short when it comes to actually g-spot use. I couldn’t get the curved g-spot end to actually hit my g-spot, and I felt like the girth was pretty big for how short the toy was. I’m not too interested in having large girth toys though. However, the g-spot curve ends up really nicely curving along your body when you use the sleeve for external stimulation. The sleeve does end up softening the vibrations of the bullet itself to where it’s much softer, and women who are sensitive could probably get off from it, but honestly, for me, the vibrations got way too soft for orgasm.
The tip of the curve is the worst spot for vibrations – it gets even more soft at that spot because that part of the Elastomer isn’t hollow so it absorbs more of the vibrations. The body of the sleeve lets a lot more of the vibrations through. It, again, really depends on what exactly you want to get out of your vibrator. If you like softer vibratios, the Raspberry Jive will end up working out for you. I like stronger vibrations and not-so-much insertion, so this one didn’t work for me. However, the bullet itself was pretty amazing, so I’ll be using that.
Cleaning is easy. Since it’s waterproof, you can just run this under the water without any sort of a problem. If you use it with the sleeve, you should take off the sleeve to clean underneath the sleeve – once the lubricant is washed off of the sleeve, you shouldn’t have any problem with getting it off. (I do recommend using lubricant if you want to insert this since elastomer does have some drag to it. Either water-based or silicone-based lubricant is fine.) It doesn’t end up attracting lint, so you can store it wherever you’d like.
I think the Mini-Mates Raspberry Jive is a neat toy – but just not for me. With the sleeve on, the vibrations were just too soft, but if the sleeve even looks somewhat interesting to you, get this one because buying a sleeve with the bullet is only five dollars more than just buying the bullet alone. The bullet itself was definitely moderately strong, and I enjoyed that, but the sleeve just wasn’t for me. This sex toy store sells the RO-120 Mini Mates Raspberry Jive as well as other vibrators.
