Retro Pocket Rocket Review

Retro Pocket Rocket
The packaging for the Retro Pocket Rocket

The Retro Pocket Rocket is a rocket ship vibrator made by Big Teaze Toys that is made entirely from plastic. It takes one AA battery for use, and it’s available in both a yellow and red color. It’s about five inches long, intended for external use, and about an inch in diameter. It comes with its own display stand in case you want to show off your little vibrating friend.

The packaging for the Retro Pocket Rocket is really cute. It comes in plastic, blister-pack packaging that displays the toy clearly through the plastic window. It does have that “hard-to-open” sealing around the edges which can be frustrating though. I love that they have the little “Man Eater” vibrator guys spread through the packaging picture; it’s really cute, and the packaging looks nice. You’ll end up destroying it getting the toy out, though, so it’s really not suitable for storage.

The display stand (yes, this sex toy has a display stand!) is adorable. As the design of this sex toy is as a spaceship vibrator, this sex toy also comes with a small, plastic “lunar-looking” base. This base has three little holes in it, and the three holes of the vibrator fit snugly into the three holes of the base in order to hold the spaceship vibrator upright for storage or display. The lunar-looking base is actually not a complete circle – it is more like a semi-circle, so it will fit up against flat surfaces like walls without much of an issue. As as a note, the backside of the spaceship vibrator does say “Big Teaze Toys” along one of the legs, but aside from that (and from viewing from the front), you really can’t tell that it’s a vibrator. If someone were to mess with it and see the “On/Off/Open” switches, though, they may ask what the toy does.

Big Teaze Toys is really known for creating toys that are adorable and very unique in design, and this one is no exception. Usually, their toys may or may not be orgasmic depending upon your preferences, but they almost always are adorable and something “unique” and out of the ordinary. That’s definitely what I’ve come to expect from Big Teaze Toys, and that’s exactly what they’ve continued providing in the Retro Pocket Rocket.

It’s completely made out of a hard plastic, and like a regular pocket rocket, it uses a”twist” design to turn the vibrator on, turn the vibrator off, and open up the vibrator to insert the battery. That means that, yes, there is only a single speed to this vibrator. Opening up the vibrator is as simple as just twisting of the bottom when in the “Open” mode, and once you do that, you can easily insert the one AA battery that the vibrator needs to function. You then just align the two pieces correctly, push them together, and twist in order to put the vibrator back together. As the On/Off switch are pretty close to the “Open” switch, you do want to be careful not to get too excited and twist too far during use, or you may not have a sealed shut vibrator anymore because you may open it.

The legs of the Retro Pocket Rocket are not detachable. They actually can be helpful when it comes to controlling the vibrator because they easily give you something to grip onto in order to twist the vibrator. They, however, depending on how you normally hold your vibrator, can also get in the way. With how I normally would hold mine (at the base), I have to make modifications in order to be able to hold this one because of the legs. As the legs are hard plastic, if you try to grip onto them too tightly, they will poke uncomfortably into your skin. I had no issue with the legs of the spaceship vibrator poking into more sensitive areas though – it was just a hassle when holding the vibrator.

For use, the single-speed vibrations are moderate in intensity, but they certainly have a noise to them. They can easily be heard in the same room, and depending on your home, you may be able to hear them outside of a closed door. The vibrations are relatively surface-vibrations, and some women may be able to orgasm from them, but I think that, for most, including myself, they’ll be mostly intended for teasing.

You do want to make sure that you’re turned on or use external lubricant through. There are little plastic dots near the tip of the spaceship vibrator for gripping purposes and for design purposes, and those dots, when vibrating, actually can feel a bit painful against dry skin. If things are lubricated, they just feel like another texture, but if things aren’t lubricated, it may be more uncomfortable than you had intended your pleasure.

As for the sensations, though, the vibrations on this vibrator are focused in the tip of the vibrator which helps keep things more powerful and pleasurable. Learning to fit your fingers around the base of the rocket ship vibrator can be a bit difficult, but you’ll learn as you go. The vibrations tend to work best as a tease, and honestly, it seems like Big Teaze Toys designed this vibrator mostly as a cute and adorable way to see your “vibrator”.

To clean this vibrator, as it is waterproof, you just use warm water and antibacterial soap. Make sure that this vibrator is sealed tightly before adding any water to it. As it’s plastic, you just want to use the cleaning solution to clean off the surface, and I recommend making sure that you clean around the “rocket engine” base where things can get stuck. It’s pretty easy to clean, though, and I haven’t had any problems with cleaning it. It’s compatible with all types of lubricant, and it can be stored however you like or on the display base.

Overall, if you want a tease, need a discreet vibrator, or tend to work just fine with softer vibrations, the Retro Pocket Rocket may be the vibrator for you. In terms of use, it seems most helpful if you purchase this knowing it’s an adorable and cute vibrator that is mostly for looking at, but it also does vibrate if that’s what you’d like as well. Thanks to Big Teaze Toys for sending this spaceship vibrator for my Retro Pocket Rocket review.
