The Platinum Silicone Thinny Minnie dildo, sold by TabuToys, is a dildo manufactured by Doc Johnson. Part of their Platinum line (which means it’s made from body-safe silicone), the Thinny Minnie is designed for harness use with a slender body and flared base. It’s five and a half inches long with a diameter of slightly over an inch, so it’s a pretty slender dildo.
The packaging for the Platinum Silicone Thinny Minnie is pretty simple. It just comes in plastic, blister-pack packaging. The packaging can be easily opened, and the dildo is easily removed. As the packaging is much larger than the dildo, though, it may not be space-conscious to keep the packaging for storage.
The design of the Platinum Silicone Thinny Minnie is pretty simple. The dildo does have quite a bit of “drag” to the material, so I do recommend making sure it’s thoroughly covered in lubricant before using it just for the most comfort. The dildo is widest at the head of the sex toy, and at the head, there’s a g-spot-shaped design to help apply pressure and pleasure to the g-spot. The dildo is actually quite flexible, and it flexes at multiple places throughout the dildo – not just the base.
As the name implies, this silicone dildo was designed for harness use. Many harness dildos are long and thick – like you’d expect from an “average human penis”. However, some people prefer slimmer dildos – especially if it comes to anal use. That’s where the Thinnie Minni dildo comes in. It’s slim and still has a decent length to it. It’s not too LONG, so if you have a tummy or are in a shallow-penetration positions, you might have some issues, but the dildo is longer than other dildos of this diameter which is a plus. As another plus, the base is very firm and rigid, and while it can get a little uncomfortable if it hits you at the wrong angle, the base helps keep the dildo as upright as possible, and it really provides a good, stable base for use.
One of the bigger downsides of this dildo is the flexibility though. This silicone is quite flexible. This does mean more comfort for penetration, but it also does mean some downsides too. For one, if you’re the type that prefers strong, rigid pressure on the g-spot (as most people do), this will probably let you down. It just is way too flexible to hold its form for rigid pressure. Along with that, for anal penetration, the flexibility means that the dildo tends to sometimes “bend in” on itself making penetration pretty difficult. As dealing with a dildo on a harness sometimes means awkward angles anyway, having a dildo bend in on itself certainly doesn’t help the situation, and it can make things a bit more difficult than they should have been.
The dildo itself works pretty well, though. The base is nice and firm which provides a great base for harness use and a great base for grasping for use. The dildo doesn’t quite feel “filling” to to the slender size, but it certainly goes in really easily with good lubrication, and it has a very pleasurable shape. The flexibility means that it really doesn’t provide too much in terms of strong g-spot/p-spot pressure, but it does lightly hit the pleasurable areas – it’s just hard to focus the sensation there.
To clean this silicone dildo, you’ll want to use warm water and antibacterial soap. As it has no mechanical parts, you could easily boil this dildo in a pot of water if you wanted to. It could also be sterilized with a water/bleach solution if you prefer that route. It easily can be covered with a condom, but as it is very slender, be careful about the condom slipping off. It’s only compatible with water-based lubricant, so keep that in mind for usage as well. It does pick up quite a bit of hair and lint, so I do recommend keeping it in a contained pouch to keep it as clean as possible.
Overall, the Platinum Silicone Thinny Minnie dildo is an okay dildo. We like the small diameter and the size of the dildo, but we both would have preferred if the dildo had been made of a firmer silicone to provide easier penetration and more intense pressure on pleasure spots. It does work pretty well as a harness dildo, though, and if you want a harness-compatible dildo that’s slender and average length, it provides pretty well.
