The Pink Bound Leather Kit is a kit of items. It’s from KinkLab toys, and it includes two wrist cuffs, a blindfold, and a paddle. Each item is made from leather, and they are in a black/pink color combination. The official “listing” of what’s included is: 2 Buckling Nylon and Pink Leather Wrist Cuffs, 1 Pink Counter Padded Leather Blindfold with Elastic Band, and 1 Leather Heart Paddle with Easy Hang Loop.
The packaging is actually pretty nice. It comes in a plastic baggie with a button that opens up to let you remove the products. It isn’t discreet as it shows a woman and man playing with the kit on the front, and the packaging itself is clear, so you can see into the packaging. However, it keeps the items from any damage during shipping, and it can be used for long-term storage if you want to have all fo the items in one place for future play sessions.
The items are supposed to mix together to make an easy-to-use play set for those who haven’t played too much with their bondage options. The blindfold works well to restrict vision while the cuffs can restrain, and the paddle works well to spank someone. Not only that, but the set is intended to be travel-friendly as it fits into that small package, and it can be taken with you to make a vacation or small trip much more fun. (Do keep in mind that the cuffs have metal on them if you plan on doing a trip that requires an airplane flight!)
The blindfold is is made out of pink leather for the blindfold portion and an elastic band that goes around the head to hold the blindfold on. The front, pink side of the blindfold is flat while the backside of the blindfold includes a bit of padding for comfort. This padding is only towards the outer edges of the blindfold with a little “divet” towards the center of the blindfold where your eyes would line up. There’s a tag towards the right-side that can easily be cut off if it bothers you.
In use, the blindfold is okay. It’s not impressive, but it’s not horrible. The elastic is the right amount of elasticity where the blindfold will stay on your face, but it won’t hold too tight and cause a headache. It’s comfortable. The blindfold does not block out all light. You can see between the cracks of the bridge of the nose your eyes, so it is not pitch dark like I was hoping for. At the same time, the nose bridge of the blindfold wasn’t made wide enough (for either the boyfriend or I’s faces), so the blindfold does uncomfortable rest against the nose in a not-pleasant way. It’s definitely slightly painful. This makes this an average blindfold, but it does look cute during wearing, and it may fit your face a lot better than it fit the boyfriend and I’s face.
The two cuffs are made from nylon and leather. Each cuff includes a D-ring to make an easy bondage point, but the set does NOT include a way to connect the two D-rings together, so have a double-ended clip in mind or use a piece of rope if you want to connect them. The buckle is a regular buckle, and it does not lock. These definitely are made for wrists, but if you have very small ankles, you could wear these on ankles. Each cuff will fit a circumference of about ten inches, so make sure to measure before you purchase if you are unsure if it will work.
The nylon is certainly not the most comfortable material for these cuffs to be made from. However, it’s not bad. It’s scratchier that some of the other materials that this could have been made from, but it doesn’t bother much. However, where the two pieces of nylon meet underneath the cuff is the itchiest part. This can be avoided by placing the cuffs a bit looser on the wrist. I have larger wrists, and these still give me two extra holes to fasten it on, so it still fits my wrist. This would fit most male’s wrists, but if he has really large wrists, it may not fit nearly as well. On the plus side, the leather of the cuffs is VERY very pliable, so unlike some other leather cuffs, it’s very easy to put these cuffs on. On the extra plus side, the nylon isn’t smooth like leather, so, like the boyfriend loves, this cuff leaves some temporary “imprints” on your skin like rope would. These marks go away quickly, but I know a lot of submissives love the look of those markings.
The paddle is made from three layers of leather sewn tightly together. The paddle also includes a little piece of leather that is tied through the end of the paddle to allow you to easily hang the paddle up. This loop is not long enough for you to be able to use it as a wrist strap. The paddle is about nine inches long, and it’s about five inches across. This makes it a pretty small paddle compared to some of the other paddles out there. This paddle is not flexible at all, and the handle is thick enough to be comfortable in most-sized hands. The stitching is well done, and this paddle should hold up well to rough use.
The paddle itself is definitely a stingy and painful paddle! The hard part about this is that I feel like the set was made for beginners and then the paddle is pretty darn stingy. When used lightly, it still stings. When used with more force behind it, it stings even worse. My boyfriend even cowers from this thing, and we play with a lot of paddles. However, a beginner could easily use this very lightly during sex without causing too much of an issue.
Cleaning this set is pretty easy, but do keep in mind that it includes leather, and leather items do not enjoy regular dish soap. Instead, use a slightly damp washcloth, and wipe the items down and let them dry. Avoid getting any of this near bodily fluids as it’s impossible to sterilize. For storage, I recommend trying to make sure each portion lays flat for optimal storage, and since this set is pretty small, it can easily be hidden as well.
Here’s a short overview:
Blindfold: Isn’t the strong part of this set. The elastic is comfortable enough, but the blindfold doesn’t block out all light, and it is scratchy on our noses.
Cuffs: Good cuffs. They are easy to put on and take off. The leather is pliable, and they’re cute. They’re very adjustable to most wrists. The nylon does leave marks, and it can be a bit scratchy.
Paddle: This is a good quality paddle, and the small size makes it easy to hide if you want to be discreet. It’s easy to handle, but it definitely has a stingy sensation to it.
Overall, it’s an okay set. I was really hoping for more out of this, but it does end up working alright. It might seem a bit expensive, but with kink items, cuffs can go for $150+ and a good impact toy can easily go for $100+, so it’s not that bad. At the same time, all of the items in set are made with amazing quality, and they are going to hold up for a long time. If this set ends up working well for you, I can easily see this set being something that you keep for a long time for play. However, for us, the set just didn’t end up working well, but I could see it being a good set for someone else.
