Two decades ago, when the only place to get a sex toy was a seedy store in the corner of town, penis sex toy options were laughingly barren. Most penis owners were ushered over to the DVD section where they could enjoy a complimentary bottle of lube (to use their own hand)

Nowadays, as people with shafts look for new sensations and ways to pair their favorite content with sex toys, manufacturers are taking notice. Where there’s a place to make money, innovation will follow, and that’s the case here as well.

If you’re hoping to pleasure a penis, there are many more penis sex toy options out there than there used to be. From simplistic toys that are more budget-friendly to toys that push the scope of the term “teledildonics” to the fullest, there are lots of pretty cool ways to experience pleasure at the hands of a very orgasmic inanimate object. Let me introduce you to some of them:

Penis Strokers & Masturbation Sleeves

Should I Buy a Fleshlight? Compare Fleshlight options

Masturbation sleeves are just long, tight tubes that slide around your penis. The inside of this tube is usually textured, allowing the skin of your shaft to push along different surfaces that pleasure the nerve endings of the penis. Since dry penetration isn’t pleasant, you lube up your shaft (and the interior of the tube) ahead of time, making for a slippery surface as you slide inside of the toy.

These toys are controlled by your hand. You use your hand to move the toy up and down your shaft, mimicking penetration as the toy slides up and down.

Fleshlights are one of the most popular brands of penis strokers.

READ: Should I Buy a Fleshlight?

Some penis strokers are only made from squishy materials. When you grip the exterior of the stroker, you’re touching the squishy part. If that’s the case, how tightly you grip the stroker around your shaft will change the resulting sensation.

Other penis strokers hide their squishy bits inside of a rigid plastic case. While this can reduce lube getting all over and make it easier to grip the stroker, it also means that you can’t squeeze the squishy bits to make them feel tighter. The pre-set width of the stroker will determine exactly how tight the toy feels.

Part of the enjoyment of a penis stroker will also be the visual of using it. The orifice (that’s what we call the entrance of the stroker) will stretch around your shaft, providing something very stimulating to look at. This orifice may look like a mouth, a vulva, an anus, or something else, depending on what kinks you’re into.

The durability of your penis stroker will vary widely based on the price. Cheaper materials are cheaper, and they’ll rip more easily. More durable materials might be nearing the $100 price point, but they tend to be thicker, feel more lifelike, and have more complex, pleasurable interiors.

Since most penis strokers are made from TPR or TPE material, however, they’re not designed to last forever. Expect material breakdown (it’ll start to become stickier or brittle, depending on the formulation) before the 5-year mark with regular use and perfect care history.

Male masturbation sleeves and penis strokers tend to a penis owner’s first experience with sex toys.

Recommendations: If you’re on a budget, I tend to recommend Tenga sex toys; they’re solid quality without a high price point. They are, however, non-realistic. If you want realism, I always recommend Fleshlight strokers. There’s a reason they’re known as the best out there.

App-Enabled Penis Strokers

Automated thrusting stroker function GIF for the KIIROO KEON Review

Worth their own call out, manufacturers have figured out that people who masturbate to porn love having sex toys that can synchronize to that porn. Checks out, right?

App-enabled penis strokers connect wirelessly to your cell phone. If the stroker and app are equipped with it, the sex toy can then use the data from the porn video you’re watching to synchronize your sex toy to the action on the screen.

As you could probably guess, these app-enabled options are much more expensive than their non-electronic counterparts. These toys are equipped with motors (to move the stroker), transmitters (to provide data to the app), and receivers (to receive data from the app) that come with a much higher upfront cost.

Recommendations: Some common examples of this would be the KIIROO KEON (pictured above), The Handy, or the Lovense Solace Pro. I’ve used the KIIROO KEON and love TF out of it.

Male Masturbator Cups

The Alive One masturbator cup sitting upright in front of a record player. The record player is open with a record on the deck. The image looks artsy with a lot of wooden colors. For my Alive One Masturbator review.

You’ve probably seen these around, marketed with names like “The Male Rose”. They essentially look like a plastic handle (you hold onto) while a cup attached to the handle does all of the work of swirling and thrusting onto your shaft.

It kinda looks like a washing machine for your penis, essentially.

These have become popular because they do all the work for you. You simply hold a handle and push buttons, and the toy itself does all the movements while you hold it in place.

GIF shows a top down view of the Alive One masturbator sitting on a table. This 3/4ths angle showcases how the stroking mechanism moves up and down on the shaft while simultaneously swirling around the shaft. For my Alive One Masturbator Review.

Wider or longer shafts beware, though: in order to function, the male masturbation cup must be able to spin and swirl around the shaft freely. This requires a happy medium. If the toy spins too freely, you probably won’t get much sensation. The texture won’t really be pressing into your skin. If it doesn’t spin freely enough, the toy gets stuck, and the motor gets jammed, and it just stops moving.

This is the concern for wider or longer shafts. If you’re wider or longer than average, the toy may simply be too narrow for you, and you’ll find that most penis masturbation cups like these will lock up or freeze under the friction.

If you’re in the market for a male masturbation cup, please note that you’ll get what you pay for. Moving a surface across the shaft, with constant friction (because that’s what feels good), requires some decent power. Cheaper masturbation cups are built with cheaper motors. Cheaper motors will freeze when they meet resistance. More expensive masturbation cups make for

Even so, this constant resistance can be hard on the motors of these toys, and early toy death is relatively common. While I like that the technology exists, it’s still in its infancy, and as of September 2025, I’d say that it’s generally not worth buying one of these yet. The durability still hasn’t been ironed out. If you still want to buy one, make sure it’s from a responsive company, and that company offers a decent sex toy warranty for you to make a claim with.

Recommendations: Common examples of male masturbator cups include The Male Rose, Alive One (pictured above), and more.

Penis Sex Toy Options: Cock Rings

The cock ring category is, essentially, split into two different categories: vibrating and non-vibrating.

For the wearer’s pleasure, a non-vibrating cock ring can provide a firmer-feeling erection. With its tighter squeeze, it helps keep your focus on your shaft, and it kinda brings “awareness” to the whole area. Plus, some people find the “look” of them to be extremely hot, and it can be a bit like your own kind of lingerie.

Vibrating penis rings can also provide a lot of pleasure to the wearer. The vibrations from a vibrating penis ring can shake the whole shaft, providing pleasure from base to tip.

There’s a happy middle ground, though: if you play with some timbres of vibrations for too long, they can temporarily reduce the sensitivity of the nerves in the shaft. It’s not permanent, but you might find that your hand doesn’t feel as intense as it normally does for the next 30 minutes or so. Cycling the vibrations on and off (or using vibration patterns) can help mitigate this.

These can be particularly fun because cock rings are traditionally worn around the base of the shaft. That leaves the rest of the penis open for business. You can pop on a vibrating cock ring, and enjoy the vibrations, while still using a stroker or your hand on the rest of the shaft. It’s like having your cake and getting to eat it too!

If you’re primarily purchasing a cock ring to pleasure yourself, the wearer, look for cock ring designs that stay close to the wearer’s body. Vibrating rings designed to nestle against your balls or against the taint will provide even more sensation. Many vibrating penis rings are specifically designed to pleasure a partner’s clitoris; if you aren’t trying to do that with this purchase, look for options that’ll focus more of the toy’s design on pleasuring you.

Recommendations: If you’re going to go with a non-vibrating cock ring, I genuinely recommend going with a cheap, super-stretchy one. This is one of those instances where I really have no problem recommending cheap: it’ll be stretchy, easy to get on and off, you won’t care if you freak out and have to cut it off, and it’ll still do its job of restricting blood flow to the shaft. TPR or TPE will be much stretchier than silicone. With all that in mind, the favorite non-vibrating ones I’d recommend would be the Commander Cock Ring (has little handles), Performance Silicone Go Pro (holds very firm), or the Blush Stay Hard Beaded Rings (you get three!)

If you’re going with a vibrating option, I’d recommend leaning towards ones designed for the wearer’s pleasure. They’re definitely harder to find, but they’re out there. Some great examples are the Lovense Diamo, Svakom Benedict, or the Dorcel Fun Bag.

Penis Sex Toy Options: Sex Dolls

The Marissa sex doll tummy-down on a bed. The butt cheeks look extremely large and round. The doll has skin folds on its back. For my MRLSexDoll Marissa review.

I’mma be honest here: inflatable sex dolls have not gotten any better than their gag gift days of 20 years ago. They still have visible seams, are laughably unrealistic, and tend to puncture relatively easily.

That being said, the world of non-inflatable sex dolls has morphed into something unrecognizable from the penis sex toy offerings of 10 years ago. Innovations in factory creation have allowed TPE and TPR sex dolls to be mass-produced at a scale that was unheard of.

Sex dolls are surprisingly popular now. The TPE and TPR material is soft, jiggly, and squishy, allowing you to squeeze all of your favorite parts of a sex doll. These dolls feature built-in channels you can slide into with tight, textured designs that squeeze the shaft.

If you’re open to getting a smaller “mini sex doll” that only portrays the hips, you can get a quality small-table-sized one for around $100. It’ll only be about 10″ wide, but it’ll have the weight and heft to help simulate the feeling of skin slapping against yours as you pound into it.

If you want a doll that has human proportions, but you’re open to just the hips or just the torso of a person, you’re looking at a price point between $250 to $500.

Full-body, full-face sex dolls that actually look like human beings are still well-beyond most people’s price points, starting around the $2,000 mark and going up from there. But if you’re open to a smaller size or a “partial” part of the body, you can get something that’ll be more friendly to most people’s wallets.

If you’re looking for stereotypical bodies, I tend to recommend Tantaly. If you’re looking for mini sex doll hips at a budget-friendly price, I’d recommend the Isskis or the Sohimi generic hips. If you want sex dolls that portray niche kinks and fetishes, MRLSexDoll (their Marissa doll is shown above) is the place to go.

“Air Suction” Penis Toys

Arcwave Ion sex toy

Have you heard of the The Rose toy? Y’know, that toy that’s gone famous on TikTok for providing new and innovative pleasure for the clitoris?

While the options are relatively limited right now, a few manufacturers make that exact same technology available for penis owners. In it, the sex toy sucks and pulses on your frenulum, one of the most sensitive spots on your shaft. At the same time, many of those toys offer full-shaft sensation on the right of the shaft with vibrations or squeezing sensations.

I’ll be honest: this is a very unique type of sex toy. It may not be for you. Air suction toys must be left in a single spot to work their magic; you’ll be missing any sort of up-and-down stroking on your shaft. If you’ve always needed that up-and-down stroking, air suction toys like this may not work for you. If, however, you’ve found some success with penis vibrators (or other stationary toys) OR really just want to try something new, these air suction penis toys can be a new journey to approach.

If they work for you, reviews have been phenomenal, saying it’s a deeper, more intense, full-body orgasm than they’ve ever experienced. If it doesn’t work for you, reviews have been frustrated, stating they just didn’t find it enough stimulation.

It’s really on a case-by-case basis.

One of the few versions of this out there right now (because they own the patent) is the Arcwave Ion, pictured above.

Stroker Sex Machines

Robo Fuk penis sex machine showcasing penis stroking sex machine

If you’re here, I’d guesstimate you’ve seen a sex machine. It’s a machine that pushes a dildo forwards and backwards.

You can take that exact same premise and apply it to penis stroking toys. Instead of pushing a dildo, the machine holds a penis stroker toy, pushing and pulling it up and down your shaft.

Unlike those app-enabled penis stroker machines we talked about above (like the KEON), these sex machines, quite literally, just swap out a dildo for a penis stroker. They don’t just sit on your lap for handheld pleasure. They’re full-ass sex machines. (This also comes with the reality of positioning. Are you open to standing, laying, or sitting in a position where the machine can reliably stroke your shaft?)

It does fall prey to many of the downsides of sex machines, though, so I recommend reading my Are Sex Machines Worth It? article to make sure it’s worth spending the dough for you.

Shown above is the Robo Fuk from XR Brands. For more power, reliability, and ability to swap out strokers, I’d probably look at the Motorbunny Grip series. It comes at a higher price point, but it lets you swap Fleshlights or Doc Johnson strokers in or out as you please.

Penis Sex Toy Options to Explore Ball Sex

The Balldo in grey shown wrapped around the balls of a white dildo. For my penis sex toys article.

A few years ago, awards were being handed out left-and-right for the new-to-market Balldo. This “Ball Dildo” (i.e. Balldo) holds your testicles inside of it, adding a tapered tip to the “tip” of your balls. Essentially, it makes it possible to slide your testicles INTO an orifice with some patience.

The skin of the testicles have a LOT of nerve endings (as many as the vulva), and this can feel absolutely amazing. People have been having ballsex for a long, long time now, but this is the first product that was really designed to help make it more approachable for people.

The Balldo (and its “upgrade” that adds vibrations, the “Viballdo“) is a unique sex toy all in its own category. There are no competitors that offer anything else like it.

So if you want innovation, it’s entirely innovative.

That being said, there are some things to note about it:

  • It’ll require patience and experimentation. When you slide your balls taut into the Balldo, it makes them firmer and easier to penetrate with, but it is NOT a hard shaft. It will not be a simple “slide it in” endeavor. Plus, balls are sensitive, and pulling too much one way may be more ouchie than pleasurable. Expect to experiment with sex positions to find one you like.
  • You have to get a good fit. The Balldo has “Spacer Rings”. Essentially, these Spacer Rings function as ball stretchers, shoving the balls further away from your body. As the balls get further from their body, they squeeze up against the base of your testicular sack’s skin, making them taut. As they get taut, it makes it easier to pleasure the nerve endings AND makes them easier to slip inside a hole. You may need to buy extra Spacer Rings to find a good fit if you got lots of balls hanging around.
  • The Balldo and Viballdo virtually require a shaved surface. Their silicone material can and WILL pull any hair it finds. This includes on your partner’s hole for super-close, grinding contact. Plan for this.
  • In order to offer enough space to slide the balls comfortably inside the Balldo, the Balldo is a THICK boy. It’s about a 2″ diameter. An average biological penis is only about 1.5″ in diameter. Make sure your receiving partner enjoys thick toys or it might be a non-starter due to size and not logistical issues.

If you like it, though, the Balldo does not give two shits about whether you’re erect or not, so it can offer penetration on demand, regardless of erection strength. If you’re trying to pleasure your package, this is one of the few penis sex toy options that works just as well flaccid.

That being said, it has a steep learning curve, and it probably won’t provide effortless, pop-your-balls-in-it orgasms. You’re going to have to experiment.

If you already know you don’t like your balls being stretched away from your body OR have dealt with testicular torsion or other testicle health issues, the Balldo and Viballdo may not be a good fit for you.

Penis Pumps

Traditionally, penis pumps are not necessarily considered one of the penis sex toy options. Many people use penis pumps as a simple way to achieve erection, and that may (or may not) be how you use them too.

However, some manufacturers are starting to craft penis pumps to be more of a pleasure-filled experience than a simple in-and-out design. Look for penis pumps with stroking mechanisms, vibrations, warming, or other features if you want to take your penis pump experience beyond the typical “erection achieved” design.

Bathmate penis pumps tend to be known as some of the most reliable if you want to simply achieve an erection.

If you’re looking for something with more sensations attached, you might prefer the Blush Performance VX4 system.

Be aware: anything that might shake the penis pump (like vibrations) will make it less effective at achieving a good suction seal, reducing the efficacy of how firm of an erection the pump may provide. You might consider this a happy trade-off (sensations versus penis hardness), but you should be aware that it’s a factor before buying a penis pump with some of these pleasure-focused designs built in.

Penis Sex Toy Options: Ball Stretchers

If you have balls alongside that shaft of yours, you might enjoy ball stretchers. Ball stretchers are designed to replicate a light, gentle squeeze and tug on the sack. They, essentially, look like weighted rings that are worn around the sack, gently weighing down the sack with the help of gravity.

Some people like to wear their ball stretchers out and about (like to the grocery store) for hidden sensations that are impossible to ignore. Others like to simply wear them while jerking off. Keep in mind: ball stretchers will feel best if they actually can “stretch” away from the body. Sitting down and letting your ball stretcher rest on the chair underneath you won’t provide as much sensation as standing up and letting it hang.

If you’re new to ball stretchers, start with lighter weights to ensure your first attempts are pleasurable instead of painful.

Recommended: Something that simply pulls the balls away (without any additional weight) can be a great place to start. The super-stretchy Master Series Ball Stacker or Oxballs Core Ribbed Grip can be approachable for newbies. Down the line, if you like the sensations, something like the Apex Ball Chute will let you add even more weight.

Ball Vibrators

Dorcel Fun Bag ball vibrator wrapped around an illustrated erection

If the idea of stretching your balls isn’t doing it for you, that’s okay. It’s not for everybody.

However, if you like testicle stimulation, you might prefer ball vibrators instead.

These toys look like ball-shaped vibrators anchored onto a ring that wraps around your cock. You slide the ring down your shaft, setting it at the very base, and the vibrators cup your testicle skin, providing a little bit of weight alongside vibrations to your balls.

Ball vibrators can be extra-fun because they still leave the entire penis shaft available for play. You get bonus stimulation on the extra-sensitive flesh of the sack while you can do whatever you would normally do on your shaft.

I’d probably recommend playing more with the vibration patterns than steady speeds of vibration. Steady vibrations, left in a single spot for long periods of time, can eventually start to blend into the background. Using the patterned modes gives you constant breaks and intensity changes, keeping those vibrations at the forefront of your mind.

There’s some preliminary evidence that shows that vibration can reduce sperm motility, though, so you may wish to avoid ball vibrators if you’re actively trying to get someone pregnant.

Recommended: The Dorcel Fun Bag (shown above), Zero Tolerance Nutty Buddy, or Zero Tolerance Vibrating Ball Cradle.

Lubricant!

While not technically one of the “penis sex toy options”, lubes deserve an honorable mention. If all you do is pick up a bottle of $10 lube, your typical jerk-off sensation is already going to be transformed. Slippery, sliding sensations feel entirely different from friction-filled, firmer sensations. It can feel “goopy” in the best of ways.

Lubricant is also required to have a good time with virtually all of the penis sex toy options on this list. Sex toys do not make their lubrication. Makes sense, right? They’re not alive. As such, you gotta provide the lube to make the toy slide comfortably against your own shaft. If you want any given sex toy to feel better, simply add lube!

I recommend finding a basic water-based lube you love. Water-based lubes are compatible with (literally) everything. They can be used with safer sex barriers AND every sex toy material. They wash off easily without needing to use strong soaps. Technically, if you’re in a tight spot, you might be able to simply use a slightly damp washcloth to clean up water-based lubes without too much residue left behind.

Their only downsides: water-based lubes dry up faster than other types of lubes, and they wash away in water. That makes for easier clean-up, but it makes them useless if you’re trying to jerk off in the shower.

If you want to get creative, you can also start to experiment with sensation play lubes. These lubes use chemical formulations to provide heating, chilling, tingling, or other skin effects. They can change up the feel of your “typical” lube experience. If you’re someone with sensitive skin, however, be aware that these formulations have more chemicals, and therefore, are more likely to set off any sensitivities.

Our absolute favorite water-based lube for jerking off is Wicked Jelle. The thicker, gel-like consistency helps it stay in place. For long edging/gooning sessions, we swap over to the Wicked Jelle Simply formulation for its lower osmolarity.
