If you’ve been lusting over the Sybian but could never justify the price tag, I want you to meet the Motorbunny. Featuring a similar design – but without the insane mark-up – the Motorbunny is a saddle vibrator where you ride on top. Once you’re on top, you use the included controller to control the vibration of the entire machine along with the rotation speed of the attached dildo (if you choose to use a dildo that day). The Motorbunny comes equipped with four sturdy eyebolts to serve as bondage points as well as deep, inset handles for easy moving of this large machine. Three TPE attachments are included that allow you to customize your experience, and multiple attachments (including silicone ones!) can be purchased separately. While the Motorbunny works great with the included controller (that has power settings all the way up to 11!), Motorbunny also offers a Bluetooth controller to allow for mobile phone control of the unit. The starter kit has everything you’ll need to get started with your Motorbunny ASAP, and on occasion, for holidays, Motorbunny offers some fun, unique packages that you can take advantage of, too.
As you can imagine, the Motor Bunny comes in some pretty large and heavy boxes. All of these boxes, despite being heavy, however, are entirely discreet. None of the shipping boxes make any mention of what’s inside of the boxes, so you can rest easy knowing that none of your neighbors know what you’re up to. However, due to the heft and size of the delivery boxes, you pretty much want this only delivered to your home. I wouldn’t try to have it delivered elsewhere for discretionary purposes unless you’re really into moving heavy boxes and answering what’s in them.
When you purchase your MotorBunny, you’ll get everything you need to use it straight out of the box. That includes the Motorbunny itself, 3 attachments, two different clitoral riser/bump settings, 4 different support rods, the A/C power supply, a universal wall adapter, the “Bunny Rest”, and the controller for the toy. Optional accessories are available, but everything you need to use it for the first time (and possibly for the rest of your life if you’re not into the accessories!) is right in the box.
So, what is the Motorbunny? Well, the Motorbunny is a large toy that fits between the thighs. The toy houses an intense vibrational motor in addition to a rotational motor. The rotational motor rotates whatever attachment you put on the attachment post. The vibrations just vibrate the entire toy – but focus near the rotation attachment. The rotations and vibrations are controlled separately by a remote that offers individual control intensity – up to 11 (teehee). You plop your butt and pleasure parts right down onto the Motorbunny, using it as a “seat”, and you can experience intense vibrations or rotating penetration.
There are a few big differences between the Sybian and the Motorbunny, but the biggest is honestly the price. The Motorbunny is like an affordable Sybian. It has all of the features the Sybian has (and more!) without the high price tag of the Sybian. Sybian had cornered the market on “rideable vibrators” for the longest time, and as such, they could charge what they wanted. Now that companies like Motorbunny are out there trying to compete with Sybian’s long-standing market, it’s becoming obvious that the toys aren’t nearly as expensive to make as the Sybian pricetag has commanded.
Outside of the pricetag, though, the Motorbunny has a few noticeable differences. For one, the Motorbunny comes with four bondage points – one on each of the four corners of the toy. These eyebolts allow you to attach bondage points for playtime when the person is riding the Motorbunny. For another, Motorbunny now has the “Motorbunny Link” feature. This feature, unavailable on Sybian options, allows you to purchase a separate accessory that allows you to control your Motorbunny toy straight from a cell phone (via Bluetooth). They’ll be adding the ability to control it via an internet connection soon; what a perfect way to pleasure your partner when you’re away on business? The Motorbunny has other specification differences as well including a lower weight, higher RPM, and more. They luckily have a nice comparison chart page right on their website.
Setting up the Motorbunny honestly couldn’t be any easier. Really, it couldn’t. Even two seconds after opening the box you receive it in, you can use it. Place the Motorbunny where you’d like to use it. Then connect the power supply to the Motorbunny. Connect a power cord to the power supply. Now it has power! You want to control it, though, right? So just connect the controller to the Motorbunny, and you now can control it. Now to actually use it, you’ll first want to select what attachment you want to use. It’s entirely up to you. We’ll assume you’ve picked an insertable attachment. Now that you have an attachment, you’ll want to choose a clitoral riser (those little plastic “bumps”) that fits best for your body and how much contact you’d like with the clitoris. Snap that on. Then decide how firm you’d like the dildo to be. Would you like it to be more malleable or more “set in stone”? Pick the corresponding support rod, slide it into the hole at the top of the Motorbunny, and slip the attachment over everything you just equipped. And you’re ready to go! Learning to slide the attachment covers on simply is definitely a learned skill, but you’ll pick it up pretty quickly.
For you bondage aficionados out there, the Motorbunny comes equipped with four eyelets – one one each corner of the Motorbunny. These eye bolts are extremely well-attached, and they aren’t going anywhere anytime soon (with a squirmy bottom). However, it’s worth noting that it doesn’t seem to work to attach both wrists and ankles at the same time. It sounds hot, in fantasy, and it’s possible that it’s the body size and limb length of the people I’ve played with, but in my experience, when I try to attach both wrists and ankles at the same time, the person can’t actually reach their butt down to touch the Motorbunny with any comfort. If you want to attach all at once, I recommend using long chains to allow more movement – or just choosing to utilize only wrists or only ankles. It’ll still keep them stationary with nowhere to go.
The thickness of the MotorBunny might feel a bit thick between the thighs when riding it – especially for petite people. However, it’s a thickness that your body will adapt to relatively quickly. Depending on your sex partners, it’ll be about the same thickness (or smaller) than a sex partner’s hips, but at the same time, it’s a lot taller than most sex partners’ bodies. It’ll be an interesting fit – and you’ll likely find yourself wanting to lean forward for the most comfort while riding. The included “Bunny Rest” is designed for this, but we’ve found that a regular ol’ chair seems to be most people’s preferences. Of course, if you’re hoping to put on a show for someone, a large chair can be bulky, so the “Bunny Rest” still gets to come out and earn its keep too.
When it comes to intensity, MAN, does the Motor Bunny bring it! You’re not going to find a more-intense vibration out there – or a powerful rotation, for that matter. This vibrator puts out – and puts out some’more – and then never stops. It doesn’t get tired like your rabbit vibrator where the beads jam up. The batteries don’t die on you. It doesn’t turn off after 30 minutes of use to protect against “overheating” like some wand massagers. The Motorbunny is there for you – from power that ranges from “pretty strong” to “strongest on the market”. The lower settings are definitely on the softer side for the Motorbunny, but even then, it usually equals medium-high to high on most vibrators.
That being said, I personally haven’t fallen in love with it. It’s really, really pleasurable for a little bit, and if I allow myself to orgasm or turn up the vibration intensity high enough to orgasm as soon as I start, I’ll be satisfied and happy. However, I’m one of those people that loves to dawdle and enjoy the pleasure and edge of orgasm before I actually decide to have an orgasm, and for me, the Motorbunny makes that difficult. If I spend more than five or ten minutes on it, I find that it starts numbing my body – even on the lowest settings – and I’m unable to get off at all after that time period. It’s honestly more of a frustrating experience for me. But, to be fair, that’s an experience I also have with the Hitachi Magic Wand or other powerful wand massagers, so it was a predictable reaction when coming into using the Motorbunny.
BUT despite my lack of love for it, I still have a serious fondness for it – mostly because of how much pleasure it seems to bring other people. My play partners who have played with this one love it – and constantly request for me to bring it to play parties I’m attending. When one female friend climbed on it, she said she had the easiest multiple orgasms of her entire lifetime. So yeah, some people absolutely love it. I’d say a good indicator would be whether or not you love the Hitachi. If you’re super in love with your Hitachi or other powerful wand massager, you’ll likely have a passionate affair with the Motorbunny. If you find the Hitachi too powerful or too numbing, you might not love the Motorbunny.
It’s also worth noting that this can work for male-bodied individuals. While Motorbunny DOES sell a large, male masturbation sleeve that fits onto the Motorbunny (and jiggles and allows you to thrust into something that’s covered in powerful vibrations- which can be very pleasurable for penis-owning individuals), you can’t forget that this toy can be used anally too. While it’s not often seen, male-bodied individuals can easily and comfortably use the Motorbunny attachments anally, and I’ve seen multiple instances of male hands-free orgasms from using the Motorbunny anally. So don’t assume it’s a female-only toy! (But if you’re going to switch between anal and vaginal use of your attachments, make sure you get silicone attachments and sterilize them between each individual use.)
If you have any need for discretion, this is not-at-all the toy for you. Nope. Not even a little bit. You might even wanna think about the hours you choose to use it if you have downstairs neighbors with apartment living. The Motorbunny (and Sybian and all other types of saddle vibrators like this) are LOUD. Not just “teehee. You can hear it through a door loud”, but noticeably louder than any vibrator you’ve ever encountered in your lifespan. During play parties, despite loud music and lots of moaning (caused by these toys), the hum of these vibrators can easily be heard throughout the room and the room next to it.
That being said, it’s a relatively steady hum. It’s certainly jarring at first when you get on the toy, but it will slowly fade into the background as it’s always the same type of noise. It’s maybe not the best toy selection for “softer, romantic sex” scenes – as this toy will constantly make itself known through the noise that it transmits. It gets noticeably louder on the highest settings, but again, it’s never extremely grating or distracting from my experience. If anything, the noise actually adds a bit more to the experience. I know it sounds weird, but just like the sound of rubber gloves being snapped on can add to the mental aspect of a medical play scene, the sound of this strong, powerful vibrator adds to the “I’m using a sex machine for my pleasure” enjoyment.
On those lines, it’s worth noting that the rotation of the penetratable dildo makes more of a whine than the vibrations. The vibrations produce a steady thumping/rumbling while the rotation of the penetration dildo makes more of a whirling “weeohh, weeohh” with each turn of the toy. Depending on the floor type you’re on, you’ll feel a bit of vibration and rumbling on your knees and legs when using this.
Some other saddle vibrator companies have used experience sound dampening pads underneath the toy to help reduce some of the noise and shake from the toy. You could do that if you wanted. Or you could just lay out a couple of blankets or towels before use. Not only will these help protect your knees (and make them more comfortable), but it’ll help to reduce some of the vibration and noise. Is it perfect? No. But it’ll work better than nothing.
The Motorbunny Starter Kit will come with everything you need to use it. However, Motor Bunny also sells optional accessories. I, personally, recommend that you take your favorite attachments – especially the insertable ones – and upgrade them to their silicone counterparts as soon as possible. (Though I have to admit I’m saddened to see that they don’t offer a non-penetrative attachment in silicone as of yet). Other attachments include rabbit-like attachments, non-realistic penetrative toys, realistic penetrative toys, double-penetration toys, g-spot toys, and a male masturbation sleeve toy.
In addition to the attachments, you can purchase other items for your Motorbunny as well. These include replacement parts, knee pads, the above-mentioned Motorbunny Link Bluetooth Controller, covers for the Motorbunny in various colors, and bondage items including restraints and nipple clamps that attach directly to the Motorbunny.
If you pay attention to the item list, you’ll notice that the Motorbunny includes a “Bunny Rest”. This “Bunny Rest” is a small piece of furniture. It’s about perfectly sized for the amount of space that’s left-over in the shipping box when you’ll first receive your Motor Bunny. This likely means that the “Bunny Rest” was a positive afterthought. Not only does it help keep your MotorBunny in place during shipping, but it functions as a “rest” for your upper body when you’re using the toy. It also means that, predictably, the “Bunny Rest” is pretty feature-free. It’s a small wood stool with padding on the top and covered with a faux leather material.
I have to admit that I haven’t found much use for the “Bunny Rest” during actual use of the Motorbunny. It just seems to be barely the wrong height for me to feel comfortable leaning on it while using the large sex machine vibrator. When we’ve had other people use the Motorbunny, they also seemed to prefer the height of a household chair instead of the “Bunny Rest”. That all being said, the “Bunny Rest” is still pretty damn awesome. It has functioned as a last-minute chair for a slim-bodied adult, and it STILL makes a great foot rest under my computer desk. While the “Bunny Rest” doesn’t have many frills to it, it does support weight amazingly well, and you should have no concerns about resting the weight of your upper body on this “Rest”. (The being said, I don’t know if I’d trust it to hold a truly plus-sized person as a chair. It does a great job holding partial body weight, but I’m not sure I’d be ready to trust it holding full body weight of a larger bodied person.)
The reaction to the Motorbunny has been predictably positive when we take it to events. People are impressed, amazed, and instantly want to try sitting on it. Even the shy ones, who just want to try putting a hand on it, are instantly astounded. Most people are pretty amazed by the affordable pricetag too. Sybians run in the thousands, but this is noticeably less than that – but with the same type of power. We had the chance to run our MotorBunny next to a couple Sybians at a play party once, and everyone said they couldn’t tell the difference between the two. In addition, since these are kinksters, most were more enamored with the Motorbunny because of the optional bondage points that the toy includes.
This is one sex toy that can go absolutely NOWHERE near water. Nowhere. Not even near the bathtub. When it comes to cleaning, Motorbunny did try to make it easy, though. They offer optional washable covers you can purchase to easily “strip and wash”. Outside of that, you’ll need to get a washcloth and soap and clean down the surface of the Motorbunny after every use. You’ll also need to remove the attachment and give it a good soaking – but it can be taken to the sink and washed like any regular dildo/sex toy.
While I’m unsure if Motorbunny recommends this (and I wouldn’t recommend it for long-term personal use, either), when we take our Motorbunny out to events and random individuals would like to try sitting on it, we tend the wrap the unit in plastic wrap (like from the kitchen) with one of the non-penetrating attachments. This seems to keep the Motorbunny free from any bodily fluids that we might be concerned about later in our private use, but it also allows other people to try the toy. It does NOT feel like exactly the same sensation wrapped versus unwrapped, but it’s a safety precaution we take when we know people will be sharing the same toy all evening (and we trash and rewrap the toy in fresh plastic wrap between each individual).
That being said, our unique experience offering “rides” all evening has taught us a few things. One: the Motorbunny is pretty darn resilient for long-term use. It’s easily gone, off and on, for four hours in a single night, and the toy itself has never had any problems. It continues to vibrate and rotate reliably with no heat to the vibrator itself – even when wrapped in that plastic wrap (we were worried). Two: the part that DOES become concerning is the power adaptor. With these long sessions, it heated up like “woah” after about an hour and a half. We placed a small fan on the adaptor to try to cool it down, but it’s definitely worth keeping an eye on if you’re going to be playing with this toy for hours. Luckily, Motorbunny seems to know this might be a burned-out portion of your Motorbunny at some point in its lifespan, so they offer the power adaptors separately on their site if you ever need another one. Despite the abuse we’ve put it through, ours still works just fine.
Storing this bad boy definitely gets its own mention. It’s not a tiny toy by any means of the imagination, and with all of the small pieces, you need to make sure everything stays in a single place to avoid rebuying items later. I was storing it in a plastic tote from the local big box store, and that’ll definitely work if you need it. Make sure to get a large enough tote and line the bottom and sides with blankets to soften the laying spot for the Motorbunny. Past that, you’ll also need to ensure the tote stays relatively stationary since the Motorbunny won’t be “packed in” securely. If you plan on moving the tote, you’ll need to add extra blankets to ensure the Motorbunny vibrator furniture piece is entirely unable to move.
But if you’re like me and regularly want to travel with your Motorbunny to play partners’ houses or kinky play parties, that storage tote doesn’t work so well. (Really, it doesn’t. And it’s not sexy to carry around all night.) That’s why I’m happy to see that Motorbunny offers a Mobility and Storage case. It’s absolutely amazing for what it is. It’s a sturdy metal case with perfectly-carved inserts designed to keep your Motorbunny in great condition and safe when traveling or moving around with it. I’ll have a future review over the Motorbunny Mobility and Storage Case, but if you’re a kinkster and plan on traveling with your Motorbunny, it’s definitely worth it.
Overall, if you’ve always wanted a Sybian, the Motorbunny is going to be a dream come true. If you’ve always wanted a sex machine even more powerful than a Hitachi Magic Wand, yet again, the Motor Bunny will be a dream come true. While it’s definitely an expensive toy, you don’t go into this thinking it’ll be cheap – and the quality, power, longevity, and scene options honestly warrant the price. The Motorbunny is a new type of sex toy experience – one that you’re not likely to forget and one that your partners will beg to try again and again. With the mobile app, bondage points, and multiple, interchangeable attachments, the Motorbunny will give you enough variety to ensure you never get “bored” of its simple, easy-to-use design.
