UPDATE DECEMBER 2022: The Sh! Luxury Bondage Chain Lead appears to be discontinued – but Sh! itself is still going strong. This review remains for people who are interested in looking up information about this piece of BDSM gear. Making it easy to color-coordinate your bondage leash with your other bondage items, the Luxury Bondage Chain Lead is a metal BDSM leash with a leather studded handle. It’s offered in three colors and matches all other Sh! leather collars and cuffs. For those without Sh! items, though, it provides a simple-enough design that will match quite a few various bondage sets. The handle is about 8.5″ in length with a total leash length of 42″.
This pink bondage leash doesn’t come in any particular packaging. It will be shipped discreetly to your door, but outside of that, it just has a tag that hangs off of the handle. This leash appears to be hand-made from the Sh! company in London. This is just a leash, though, and most people don’t need extravagant packaging or instructions to figure out how to use it. And hey – that’s better for the environment too!
When it comes to using the leash, you should have no problem partnering it with your current bondage items. The leash uses a pretty standard clip to clip onto any O-rings, D-rings, or anything else that can be clipped into a circle. This includes any types of fabrics (such as belt loops) or similar things. The clip is very easy to operate, and it includes a decent bit of room. You could easily clip two O-rings into this single clip – and with a bit of fussing, you most-likely could clip 4 O-rings into it as well. It’s not a spaciously-huge clip, but it’s a clip that will work perfectly fine for almost every use you have.
The other big concern with a BDSM leash is durability. After all, leashes are going to take a lot of wear and tear as you tug your partner where you want them. This pink collar leash seems designed to take the strain. The leather is well-reinforced with quite a bit of layering and rivets. The chain pieces are noticeably thick and well-connected. These pieces aren’t just closed shut onto each other – they appear to have been welded shut at the factory. While I’m not saying that leash will never break, I am definitely saying that you should get years upon years of regular use, even being really rough, without having any issues with your new leash.
If you’re into the sound of bondage, you’re going to enjoy the Luxury Bondage Chain Lead. The chain does make a noticeable “cling” sound when it ends up touching itself (like when there’s slack in the leash). This definitely can add to the “I’m leashed” experience. The chain is a lot more flexible than similar leathers or fabrics would be, and it allows for a lot more freedom and comfortable leashing. There’s no worrying about fabric crinkling or pressing up uncomfortably against your captive; the chain isn’t particularly rough, and it’s slim enough that it doesn’t feel too weighty (like if your captive lays down on a piece of it).
The last thing to consider is the comfort of the handler. With this Sh! bondage leash, that shouldn’t be too much of a problem. The handle isn’t the most comfortable handle out there, but it isn’t bad. The thickness of the leather means that the leather doesn’t feel too flexible or comfortable in the hand, but at the same time, the spacious handle allows for the handler to slide the loop around the wrist to keep their “pet” in order while still having use of their hands. While I would have preferred a slightly more softened leather on the handle for comfort, this design works just fine, and it adds to the durability of the leash.
For the most part, you shouldn’t need to worry too much about cleaning the Luxury Bondage Chain Lead. The chain itself can be wiped down and sterilized like any other piece of metal that you have. The leather handle, however, should only be wiped down with a slightly damp washcloth with a minimal amount of soap (to avoid harming the leather). Try to keep any potential messes away from the leather portions of the lead. For storage, the chain can happily be bunched up, but try to keep the leather handle laying flat to avoid creasing the leather.
Overall, the Luxury Bondage Chain Lead is a fantastic choice for those who want a good-quality leash that makes it easy to lead around a partner – especially if you want a particularly-rare bondage color such as baby blue or pink. The leashes are really well-made, quite durable, and offer a comfortable and fluid leashing experience. This is one of the better bondage leashes that I’ve seen. Thanks to the Sh! Women’s Store for providing this pink bondage leash for my Luxury Bondage Chain Lead review.
