If you choose to give this sex toy as a gift, your recipient is clearly going feel like this was a luxury purchase. The outer cardboard box is thin, but it looks classy and explains the features of the toy. Inside that box, the toy comes packaged in a firm, plastic, zip-up casing that easily holds the toy, the instruction book, the charging cable, and anything else that you’d like to put with the vibrator. The case is even large enough to store a couple other vibrators inside it along with this wand massager! This vibrator comes with the vibrator itself, a USB charging cable (but no wall charger), an instruction manual, and vibrator storage case.
Covering the entire wand vibrator is a layer of super-soft, super-silken silicone. This silicone is seamless and runs the entire body of the vibrator. There is no break in the silicone near the head or at the base. This means that the vibrator comes across as one, single piece of silicone – which makes cleaning a breeze. This silicone is extremely soft too. Without much drag to it, you can easily slide your fingers over the silicone. To make it easier to grip, however, you’ll see in the photos that the backside includes a black, plastic panel. The “lip” between the silicone and the plastic very minimal, but the plastic backing actually does make a pretty decent difference during handling. It makes it easier to keep a good grip on your vibrator assuming your hands aren’t saturated in lube.
Charging the wand vibrator is simple. There is a small port at the base of the vibrator that the charging cable plugs into. This cable then plugs into any USB port to charge the vibrator. A small light is lit while the vibrator is charging. The vibrator does not come with a wall charger, so you’ll need to have your own wall charger if you’re hoping to charge this USB-powered vibrator on a wall outlet. It takes 2 hours to charge it for a full hour’s worth of use; this is about standard for most rechargeable vibrators of this type of power, and a full hour is more than most people will require out of their vibe.
Even if you haven’t used too many rechargeable wand vibes, the controls won’t give you any problems. They’re pretty simplistic: an up arrow, a down arrow, and a pattern button. The buttons require a bit more pressure than I’d like to press them, but they do press down okay enough. If you were constantly adjusting the vibrations, it might get a bit annoying, but for how most people will use it, it shouldn’t be much of a problem. The buttons are easy to press, even with lubricant in the equation, and they are surprisingly perfectly placed. I’ve never found my hand or palm covering them during use.
Now, the important part: the vibrations. They are, well, surprisingly strong and rumbly. They do NOT equal the intensity of the Hitachi – but I’d say that it’s around 60% to 80% of the strength of the Hitachi – and you have to remember that it’s entirely cordless and much smaller – which gives you a lot more playing options. The vibrations are easily strong enough for orgasm for most women, and unlike a lot of vibrators, the vibrations seem like they’re strongest in the head of the massager. I’m not much for patterns (honestly), but the patterns are definitely neat, and I enjoy that the vibration patterns also allow for adjustability in the intensity of the vibration. The vibrator turns straight on to the constant vibration setting, and I don’t usually change it off of that.
You will find that your hands are pretty numb after using this rechargeable wand vibe. It’s not that the vibrations are that buzzy, but it’s just that the entire toy shakes; it will leave your hands “suffering” the same vibrations that the head of the vibrator is. In order to have portable, strong, rumbly vibrations, though, I’d consider it an okay sacrifice.
This toy isn’t one you want to play with in public, though. The vibrations aren’t particularly quiet. They might be heard outside a closed door, so you’ll want to keep this is mind when choosing where and when to play. It gets a bit more hidden under music or the TV blaring, but it still is definitely noticeable in the same room.
My biggest complaint, and this is probably the silliest complaint in the whole world, is that this USB rechargeable vibrator ROLLS. Like, if I set it on a flat surface without painstaking care, something about the weighted, plastic backside gives it momentum to roll about 2 or 3 rolls. This isn’t a huge deal if you play on a bed (where the fluffiness of the sheets will keep it from rolling), but if you tend to play at your desk then want to set the vibrator down until you get up in order to clean up, the vibrator will roll, and it’s, well, frustrating. I’m not sure how it manages this when most vibrators don’t roll at all, but I do find it frustrating.
I was slightly concerned about the cleaning becoming a pain, but I’m surprised to say that it was pretty easy to handle. The lip between the plastic and silicone portion is particularly small. Taking some care with your soap and water seems to remove any mess from there; if you want to get intense, you could run a toothpick through there, but I find that to be a rarely needed activity. For standard cleaning, warm water and anti-bacterial soap will work just fine for regular cleanings, but with its waterproof abilities, you could do a water and bleach bath if you need to. The waterproof capability means that it’s super easy to clean as well. There’s really very little reason to need lube with a wand vibrator, but if you do, water-based lubricant will be universally fine with this one. Make sure to spot test if you’re going to be using silicone-based lubricant.
And of course, for storage, you have multiple options. The case makes the best choice. If you don’t like to use the case, however, this vibrator can easily be stored by itself. It does tend to pick up hair or fluff, but as long as it’s dry (and your hand is dry), a quick swipe from your hand actually removes all of the dust and particles on it really nicely.
Overall, if you want a strong vibrator (that’s not quite as strong as the Hitachi but still STRONG!) without having to fuss with a cord, the LoveHoney Desire Luxury USB Rechargeable Wand Vibrator is a good choice.
