UPDATE NOVEMBER 2024: This beautiful flogger is still around by another name. This sex toy review remains for anyone who is curious about it. While you’re here, why not check out some additional educational info – like online submissive tasks, beginner pegging positions, saran wrap bondage, and enema 101 info.
The Love Knot Flogger is a gorgeous miniature flogger produced by Ruff Doggie Styles. The tails, handle, and all details are done completely in a suede material that’s been softened and feels luxurious. The handle is four inches long with about three inches of actual “hand room” once you consider the bow and the “edging”. The tails themselves are about seven inches long. It even comes with a little hanging string sitting off the top of the handle that makes it perfect for hanging up when you are finished with it.
There is no special packaging with the Love Knot Flogger. It comes with a tag on it from Ruff Doggie Styles that lets you know what the product is. This lack of packaging is pretty environmentally friendly.
When I first received this flogger, it still had some little “fluffs” of suede on it from processing. To get rid of these, just shake the flogger over the trashcan and run your fingers through the tails. It’s not a big deal at all, and if you do that, you avoid getting the fluffs on your fingers and carpet later. We didn’t have any more problems with the shedding after I shook it out.
You know what though? I’m pretty impressed with this flogger. It’s just downright soft. Like most suede (and if you own the Fulfill-a-Fantasy Flog-Her from Ruff Doggie Styless), this feels absolutely luxurious. A faux leather flogger of the same price range wouldn’t feel so nice. The suede feels soft, gentle, and massaging on the skin instead of feeling sharp or painful. Suede works amazingly as a beginner flogger or as a warm-up toy for an advanced player.
Because of the small size, this works great for smaller apartments like our own. Back in our old apartment, most “standard” size floggers were actually too large to comfortably wield. With something smaller like this, you could even end up using it in one of those tiny dorm rooms. It works great for use on smaller areas like the breasts or the genitals or just as a flogger that can be used during intercourse because it’s much, much more manageable than a long flogger. It’s about on-par with a small paddle.
So how does it feel? Soft and massaging. This isn’t one of those floggers that is going to provide a sting – this one just massages and feels gentle on the skin. I’ve used this with the submissive as a nice warm-up flogger if I’m near him at the time with other body toys. For example, when I’m using a Wartenburg wheel or something else that’s close range, I can easily switch out with this flogger without having to readjust to make up for a longer flogger’s length. This one works perfect for close range, and I love it for that.
He describes the sensation of it hitting his skin as sensual and relaxing. He said that, with repeating thud of the flogger, it acts like a massage and allows him to relax and forget about stresses and just focus into the BDSM scene itself. (I can’t complain about any flogger like that!)
From the top’s point of view, the handle is not weighted. For the price, I honestly wouldn’t expect it to be, and honestly, weighting a flogger of this small size would just be silly. Sometimes I feel like my hand is a little too large to actually fit on the handle that was provided for the flogger too. My hand usually ends up hanging off the back end of the flogger a little bit. The handle is made of a hollow wood/plastic (can’t tell), so it does feel pretty light to handle too. The hanging strap is not large enough for a wrist and is just meant for storage purposes.
Cleaning a suede flogger can be a pain, so I recommend you keep these as a one-play-partner per flogger. (You can even color-coordinate between subs!) To clean it (it can’t be sterilized while maintaining the material), you just use a slightly damp washcloth and pat down the strands of suede. Try to keep the suede from getting damp though – it dislikes wetness and soap. (It’ll strip off the conditioning that makes it soft.) For storage, I honestly suggest you let it hang from the strap it comes with, but if that isn’t possible, try to keep it laying flat somewhere instead of bunching up the tails.
I’m sincerely pleased with this adorable flogger. While the bow may be a problem for some potential buyers, it would be possible to cut off the bow and still have this gorgeous, short-range flogger. It’s hard to find nice, small floggers like this at such a great price, so I recommend you pick up the Love Knot Flogger today. They sell these BDSM toys in Pink/Black (this one), Red/Black (gorgeous), Purple/Black, and Black/Pink.
