UPDATE JUNE 2020: The Love Bites Vampire Gloves are no longer in production. This vampire gloves review remains as a reference for those who are curious about these gloves.
The Love Bites Vampire Gloves are one of the only pairs of vegan vampire gloves available right now. All of the gloves are hand-made, and they are made out of ‘standard” types of winter-type gloves. This means you can get your Love Bites Vampire Gloves in materials such as chenille knit, fuzzy knit, velour, basic knit, and others (as well as a variety of colors). Along with this, a part of the profits off of this glove go to sex-positive non-profit organizations, so that’s always pretty awesome too.
The Love Bites Vampire Gloves come in pretty basic packaging. They come in a plastic bag, attached to one another (like winter gloves) and with a small tag that tells about the Love Bites Vampire Gloves as well as how to take care of your new spike gloves. If you want to wrap these in a box to give as a gift, you’ll need to provide your own box, though, as these just come in a plastic wrap (which definitely works to make it to you).
These gloves are designed pretty simply and obviously with care. They are designed to hold up to heavier use while still being vegan and comfortable to wear. The gloves are soft to the touch, and with your hands inside the gloves, you can still “feel” the places where the spikes stick out, but it doesn’t hurt at all. It’s like you can feel the backing of the spikes, but they are just flat plastic pieces that don’t cause any pain or discomfort at all. The spikes are on the outside of the gloves, and they seem pretty firmly placed into the gloves, so I wouldn’t expect them to slip out or fall out during use.
As these are pretty standard winter-esque gloves, they should fit a wide, wide variety of hands. Unless you have really, really long fingers, these gloves should fit you, in the standard sizing, just fine. However, if you are concerned that you have very large hands, Love Bites does sell a Mens XL variety as well.
When it comes to the gloves themselves, they do have quite a bit of spikes on them. I haven’t particularly counted, but there’s at least 12 spikes on each finger in groups of four. The entire palms of the gloves are covered in the spikes as well. These spikes are not TOO long, but they’re definitely long enough that they’ll be noticed when you touch someone – or if you accidentally try to pick up the gloves from the wrong side. Despite using them a couple times, none of the spikes seem to have bent yet, so it looks like the spikes are just short enough to avoid catching and bending as well which is a definite positive.
So what about the spikes? Well, the spikes definitely hurt. They don’t have to, though. If you use a lighter touch, it actually feels much more sensual than painful. The spikes just leave a scratching sensation on the skin, and since these “spikes” are attached to your hand, you can easily grab, massage, or anything else that you’d like to do. The gloves are insanely comfortable to wear, though, and as such, make sure to have some care while using them; the gloves feel so comfortable to the wearer that it’s pretty easy to forget how much “punch” these gloves can pack for the person who’s receiving your administrations.
These vegan vampire gloves can be a bit rough, but that’s why most people pick them up, right? They mostly are just going to scratch the surface of the skin – much like you could easily scratch someone by using your fingernails. However, much like your fingernails, if you choose to push down very roughly or just want to get mean with it, the Love Bites Vampire Gloves can also draw blood as well. However, they don’t draw blood with lighter to moderate touches, so if you’re concerned about leaving marks or drawing blood, just don’t get too carried away and you’ll do just fine.
Because these gloves can draw blood and be pretty hard on the skin, it’s highly, highly recommended that you clean them thoroughly after each use. Along with that, consider them fluid-bonded after you’ve played with a partner because of the porous aspect of the gloves. To clean these vampire gloves, the instructions recommend washing them by hand or placing the gloves in their own delicates laundry bag and machine washing it on cold. Hang dry only, though, as a dryer will loosen the glue that attaches the spikes to the gloves. For storage, just be careful of how/where you store them because you might accidentally cut or stab yourself while reaching for these if you aren’t too careful.
Overall, I love the Love Bites Vampire Gloves. They have spikes like your typical vampire gloves, but at the same time, they feel much softer and are completely vegan (which is nice!) They are really easy to wear and use, and they look pretty sexy while worn as well. Depending on how you want to use them, you can get pretty rough with these vampire gloves – and it’s possible to stay pretty nice and sensual as well. Thanks to Vampire Gloves for sending these Vegan Vampire Gloves for my Love Bites Vampire Gloves review.
