LELO Sensua Suede Whip Review

LELO Sensua Suede Whip
Showing the Flogger in a box

The LELO Sensua Suede Whip is a flogger made by LELO and sold by Babeland Sex Toys. It’s a flogger – not a whip. (Someday, I’m sure, companies will get it right.) The flogger is made from suede as well as metal. It comes in red, purple, and black. If you are interested, there is also a matching item which is a little feather teaser. This flogger includes forty small, thin suede tails. Each one of the tails is made from finished suede and feels amazingly soft. This is not a scene flogger – it is intended for bedroom use, so it is very small.

Like other LELO items, this comes packaged in very professional, very sexy looking packaging. This packaging is just an outer cardboard box. Inside this cardboad sleeve sits a little black, discreet box with “LELO” printed on the top. This box is extremely discreet and can be used for storage. The flogger sits inside this little black box inbetween some layers of white starched paper. The flogger only fits in with the handle laid diagonally and the tails on top of the handle. There is a small little “LELO” tag tied to the top of the tails, so you might want to make sure to remove that before you play.

I was totally amazed when I received the LELO Sensua Suede Whip. It’s tiny! This is easily the smallest flogger I own – even smaller than my Crystal Whip that I received from Liberator. It’s fourteen inches in total length which is basically just two hand’s worth of length. This means this is definitely a bedroom flogger – there’s no way you could comfortably use this for a scene and not look ridiculous. I’d imagine LELO intended it for the bedroom, though, so no complaints there.

Handling it is a bit odd. This is because of the weight. The handle seems to be made from acryllic (see-through) and metal. This makes the handle very heavy compared to the forty little suede tails of the flogger. It definitely is not evenly weighted. It doesn’t make it difficult to use though – it just feels a bit odd until you get used to the weight. I will say that it also does make it really easy to overshoot with your strength. Because you are toting around the weight of the handle, you don’t notice how little the tails weigh, and as such, it’s pretty easy to use too much strength when striking with the tails. Along with this, the handle is actually pretty perfect for your hand. The little metal ball on the end makes it really comfortable in my palm and makes it near-impossible to get it to fly out of your hand. However, since this is a bedroom flogger, and thus was intended for use during sex, I’m a bit concerned about how well you could grasp something like this with lubricated hands. I had a bit of a problem with it and was afraid I was going to slip and let it go.

Showing the flogger being held. So tiny!

A slight annoyance was the shedding of the suede. I’ve never had too much of a problem with suede shedding, but this one was ridiculous. Every strike left residue of the suede on the boyfriend’s back as well as swirling through the air. It seemed to go away after our first couple uses, but for those first couple, we had to vacumm up the bed afterwards just because there were lots of little suede particles everywhere. Like I said, luckily it went away after the first couple uses.

This flogger is kinda difficult to handle. More than kinda, actually. If I was using this for any sort of important striking…well, I wouldn’t. Because the tails are basically the same length as the handle, there is little accuracy with this little guy. Attempting to hit his shoulderblade, I’d get his spine. For his butt? His kidney. I think it has something to do with the tails being so short. With the regular “proportion” of a flogger, I know where the tails should hit. With this one, I swing and the tails kinda go where they want. They don’t usually travel as a group either. Again, I have a feeling it’s a mixture between the heavy handle and the tails being so short. Since this is a bedroom flogger and not intended for heavy use, it isn’t a big deal, but if this was intended for scene flogging, it’d be dangerous. As it is, this little toy isn’t made for scenes, so a misplaced strike during sex is just fun – not a problem.

The handle is see-through! :)

How does it feel? Well, since I really don’t use full strength with this one, it is rarely stingy. For the most part, the flogger is just really soft and caresses the skin really nicely. It doesn’t really land with a thud either since I can never manage to get the tails to travel together as a group. It isn’t stingy at all either since the suede is so light. It basically just ends up being a nice sensual experience which can add nicely to the sensation of sex. This is a very mild sensation. That isn’t really a problem at all – especially if you use it during sex. If you are looking for a strong sensation, this little flogger won’t provide it, but it does allow for you to experience is soft sensation. This sensation is absolutely perfect for beginners and as well as advanced users if they are looking for a sensual experience instead of a thuddy or stingy one. Since this flogger is so soft, there’s no way you will experience cuts, bruises, or any marks of any sort.

Since this flogger is so tiny, it actually works amazingly for a partner to use during intercourse. It won’t get in the way and you can use a flogger during sex. Because of the small size, you do basically have to be on top of your partner in order to strike them. This makes it best for sensual play or play when you sit on top of your partner or in other close contact.

Cleaning this will be more of a pain. Since it is suede, you have to use a very slightly damp washcloth to wipe down the tails. There’s really no way to sterilize the tails either since they are fabric. For this reason, I recommend against getting it near bodily fluids, lubricant, or blood. In order to clean it, you have to use special suede cleaner. For storage, I recommend keeping it in the original box. I normally enjoy hanging floggers from my door hangers, but this doesn’t have any hanging strap to do it with.

Overall, the LELO Sensua Suede Whip is a nice, soft flogger. (Not a whip!) It is packaged in a professional, sexy-manner that makes it look very sexy instead of “scary” like other BDSM toys look. If you are looking for mild sensations in a bedroom flogger, I’d highly suggest the LELO Sensua Suede Whip from Babeland Sex Toys.

Sometimes I look at a product and go “what the fuck were you thinking?”. That’s exactly what I thought about this collar. In fact, it’s enough of a point to cause this collar to be virtually unusable for me. Something must have happened between when EF received this product to now because this collar doesn’t resemble the picture on EF anymore. (It does slightly, but regardless, check my video if you want to see what it looks like.)

The Ruff Doggie Styles Heart Beat Collar is a very small collar (in width) intended for kinky use. It’s about nineteen inches long which makes it large enough for most individuals to wear on their neck. It’s also 1/2 inches in width which is why we picked it out – large width collars are uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time while I wanted something the boyfriend could just wear around the house with no intention of rough play. The collar is still the sparkly purple/pink and looks pretty feminine. It honestly looks a bit like a pet collar which is great if that’s your thing. (I honestly didn’t mind the colors, and if I did (like one of the reviewers did), I just wouldn’t buy the thing.) The collar buckles with a buckle – non-locking.

There wasn’t any sort of packaging for this collar. It just came sitting by itself in the EF box (packaged discreetly.) It came with a little tag hanging off the back of it to let me know what company manufactured it, but aside from that, it basically was packaging-less.

This is where some of the changes begin. The collar does have those little gem inserts that you can see on the picture, but instead of being the pink like the picture shows, each one is actually a small little pearl/diamond/mirror-looking thing now. You can see your reflection in them which is a little creepy if you choose to look at your submissive to see ten mini-yous. That wasn’t really a deal-breaker though. A surprise, but certainly not a dealbreaker.

The dealbreaker? The O-ring. As you can see in the pictures, the O-ring on the old version of the collar was opposite of the buckle. On the new version? It’s right next to it! I mean, RIGHT next to it. They touch. Instead of an O-ring, it’s also a D-ring now with a little heart pendant hanging off of the D-ring. Which was cute. But it’s RIGHT NEXT TO THE BUCKLE. What in the world? This means that, when you wear your collar, if you want to strap anything to it, you have to look at the buckle on the front side instead of in the back of the neck where it belongs.

For awhile, I considered I might be the biggest idiot on the planet and that this d-ring was actually just a piece to help hold the excess collar length down, but I don’t think so. It’s too oblong and in-the-way to seem to serve that purpose – plus, if that was the point, why would they put a little heart charm on it? Part of the attractiveness of a collar is having the buckle in the back with a smooth surface on the front side. However, this doesn’t have that. With the clipping ring right next to the buckle, you are forced to have the buckle in the front (which to me, is like wearing your underwear on the outside of your pants) if you want to clip anything to the collar. It looks very unprofessional and for sure would get you laughed at in a large group setting.

However, if you don’t want to use the D-ring to clip to leashes, you could get away with leaving the D-ring and the buckle in the back of the neck and just having the little gems and the collar itself show on the front side. That just makes it a cute collar (though you can’t clip to it). The weight on the back of the collar also does tend to make the buckle and D-ring slowly move towards the front with regular use too which is annoying, but nothing that a necklace doesn’t do anyway.

Aside from that, how is it? Pretty good. It’s a comfortable collar. I can honestly say we didn’t get the best of wears from it since the boyfriend has been sick with a horrid cough for the last four weeks and wants nothing on his neck. However, I had him wear it for a couple hours, and aside from irritating his cough, he said he didn’t mind it at all. It wasn’t itchy or anything. None of the gems have fallen off or even seem in danger of falling out. Each gem seems firmly glued into the little “socket” that it was intended for. It didn’t cut into skin, and it wasn’t sweaty. It was basically a perfect little collar that looked adorable.

For cleaning, you just have to wipe this down with a damp washcloth. Leather doesn’t enjoy soap. I’d recommend keeping it away from any sort of blood, bodily fluids, or lubricant just to keep it nice and clean. Wiping it down should get rid of any sweat though. For storage, you can keep it basically anywhere you’d like – it doesn’t have any storage limitations.

If the D-ring wasn’t right next to the buckle, I’d recommend this without a second’s hesitation. It’s comfortable, cute, and well-made. However, the buckle being right next to the D-ring really brings down the usability of the collar unfortunately. It’s still a neat collar, but if you want it for leashing, it now becomes a whole new problem. If you are okay with that, I’d say go for it. It just doesn’t look as pretty. If you just want it for the collar and not for leashing, I’d definitely recommend it as well.
