Lelo Nea is a small clitoral vibe manufactured by LELO and sold by PinkCherry Sex Toys. It’s a gorgeous sex toy, and it definitely looks as luxurious as it is supposed to be. The Nea is made from plastic and is body-safe. It’s about three inches long and about two inches wide and will fit comfortably into the palm of your hand. The Nea has a curve in the vibe to help it hug the natural curves of your body. The backside of the Nea is covered with tiny silver flowers and just looks oriental. The Nea comes in pink, blue, and black – all with the little silver flowers on the back.
The Nea comes in gorgeous LELO packaging just like all of their other vibrators. The outside is very tasteful and just says the name of the vibrator as well as shows a picture and gives features on the backside. Inside of that outer packaging is a plain black box that slides out and has the LELO name on the top cover. The Nea sits in a small tray inside of this black box, and underneath the small tray is all of the extra accessories. The extra accessories include the warranty information, the instruction manual, and the charger as well as a white satin bag that you can store the Nea in if you don’t like the packaging.
The Nea is a rechargable vibrator. It won’t be charged up when you receive it, but after two hours of charging, this little vibrator can be used for about six hours. It also has a stand-by time of about 60 days that it can keep its charge. This is really easy to charge. The charging port at the bottom of the vibrator isn’t even covered, so you just slip the charger into the port and plug the charger in. The backlit LED will flash on and off while the Nea charges, and when it’s done charging, it will emit a constant white glow. The charger seems to be the same charger as the one used with the Lelo Ina as well, so if you have both, they could share.
I figure I should talk about the material of the Nea since it’s the only thing that separates it from the Lelo Lily. The Nea is made from a very slick plastic that doesn’t have any texture to it at all – it also doesn’t provide any drag against the skin. The flower designs are completely flush against the Nea and provide no texture for gripping onto. This is a slight complaint of mine with the Nea – once your hand gets covered in lubricant, natural or otherwise, the Nea becomes much harder to grip. In fact, the sex toy will just slip out of your fingers unless you keep a good grasp on it. I found that you might want to keep a paper towel or something to wipe it off if you find it slipping too much or just try to keep it away from too much lubrication. Since it is so slick, I didn’t find any reason to use artificial lubrication at all.
The controls on the Nea are located at the bottom of the toy near the charging port. The right-hand button is your + button while the left-hand is your – button. The vibrations on the Nea are pretty moderate. I wouldn’t call them strong at all, but I wouldn’t call them weak either. It did the job for me, but I wouldn’t say it did an amazing job at it either – I would definitely have preferred something stronger. It’s pretty moderate. Most women would find this to be enough for orgasm but might find themselves wishing that it had a couple stronger settings as well. However, those settings are still pretty quiet – the lower levels can’t be heard in the same room while the higher levels definitely couldn’t be heard through a closed door but could be heard in the same room. It does have a very, very soft rumbly setting that is possibly the softest vibrations I’ve felt and would work really well for some teasing.
This female vibrator has about 7 different constant vibration patterns (it’s hard to tell the exact) and has quite a few variation patterns as well. I wasn’t amazingly impressed by the variation patterns, and I tended to stick more to the constant patterns since they provided a lot more stimulation. If you need to travel with your Nea, it does lock for travel by pressing down both buttons at the same time.
I enjoyed using my Nea, but it was a bit of a struggle for me. The Nea just ends up being really hard to hold on to. The plastic has no texture nor drag to it, so it will just slip out of your fingers if your hands get lubricated. Along with that, I feel like the buttons are positioned in the exact spot where my fingers want to grip the Nea. I ended up trying to continue to hold the Nea, but I’d end up changing the vibration patterns on it instead which was frustrating. I ended up changing how I was holding this sex toy, but I still wish I wouldn’t have had to adjust what felt natural to me. I personally am a bit concerned about having a charging port sitting open in a spot that’s so close to moisture, but no one else has had problems, so I can’t say that it’s going to happen.
I have to wonder why LELO didn’t include some sort of cover for the charging port on the Nea. It’s concerning for me. However, when you do wash your Nea, I recommend using a washcloth that’s slightly damp to avoid getting any water inside of the toy. Soap too, of course. Any type of lubricant is compatible with the Nea, but I don’t think you’d need any. For storage, it comes with a white satin bag or you can keep it in the original packaging like I like to do.
I’m split on the Nea. It’s a good sex toy, and I enjoy the look and feel of it, but when put into practice, it’s just a bit hard to deal with. The slippery plastic coupled with the awkward buttons and the only-moderate vibrations make it a bit of a frustration. However, it’s also a gorgeous toy that doesn’t scream “sex toy” to visitors which is definitely a plus as well. This sex toy store sells the Lelo Nea as well as other Lelo Sex Toys if you’d like to give this vibrator a try.
