The LELO Massage oil is one of LELO’s newest sensual products, and it can be found at FunWares adult toys. The massage oil comes in a glass bottle with a pump-top dispenser, and it comes in three different scents: Spicy Clove & Amber, Balsam Fir & Bargamot, and Fresh Lily and Musk. I have the Fresh Lily & Musk scent. The bottle is a 4 fl. ounce bottle which provides quite a bit of oil for massaging use. The massage oil is supposed to contain specks of gold flakes that will make your massaging experience more pleasurable.
The Massage Oil comes packaged in a pretty attractive box. It looks very sensual. The box is cardboard, and really, there’s no reason to keep the box after you take the bottle out. The box is slightly lined with cardboard to keep the bottle from breaking or moving during shipment. It doesn’t come with any instructions. It’s worth mentioning that my bottle does seem to have leaked or something during shipment. It didn’t get on any other items in the shipment nor did it coat the box, but it does seem to have leaked on the top of the bottle enough where it needed to be wiped down with a damp washcloth to clean it off.
The ingredients of the Fresh Lily & Musk scent bottle: Prunus armeniaca (Apricot) kernal oil, Vitis vinifera (Grape seed) oil, Simmondsia (Jojoba) seed oil, Perfume (Benzyl Salicylate, Linalool, D-Limonene), Gold powder (Mica, Titanium oxide, Iron oxide, Gold). I honestly don’t recognize half of the ingredients, but unless you have an allergy to iron, gold, or titanium, it looks like you’re going to be just fine. Neither the boyfriend or I experienced any sort of irritation.
I didn’t taste the massage oil, and I wouldn’t really recommend you do so either. It was made to be oil not flavored lubricant. This is oil, so it’s also meant to be external use only. Using it internally would be squick-y, and it would also decrease the effectiveness of any sort of latex barrier.
The bottle is actually really gorgeous. I love the fact that LELO chose to package this massage oil in a beautiful glass bottle. The bottle’s glass seems pretty thick as well, so I’m not concerned with this breaking from regular use. The only way it would break is if it was dropped onto a hard surface. However, the glass aspect does make the bottle extremely slick. While it looks gorgeous, it’s just not that practical since the glass aspect makes it very slippery whenever the oil or lubricant is on your hands. It’s small enough that you can slip a couple fingers underneath the bottle while holding it to keep it in your hands though. The pretty purple “rounded decoration” shown on the top of the pump-top is easily removable. It’s just decoration and slides right off.
The pump-top dispenses enough oil for use. I usually ended up doing two squirts per “refill” when I wanted to cover my partner’s body in oil, but one squirt works if you are being more conservative. I tend to overuse oil to the point where it has to be washed off after use since they’ll end up like a small pond.
I really like the scent of this massage oil. It’s slightly faint after it’s been sitting on the skin, but it’s never in danger of being overpowering. It’s much stronger after it first comes out of the bottle. The scent never makes you feel like gagging or anything else though. It’s strong and you notice it, but it never overwhelms.
The scent for this massage oil is Fresh Lily and Musk. It does smell a little like a feminine scent, but it’s not overpoweringly so. The Lily is much stronger than the musk scent. It smells flowery with a bit of a hint of a forest-y scent. The scent does end up feeling really sensual though, and I feel like I’m using a professional massage oil when I pour this out into my fingers.
I think LELO did a good job with the massage oil. It doesn’t feel greasy nor does it make you feel like you instantly need to jump in the shower. However, it does glide nicely against the skin. Using too little did seem to make the massage oil dry up really quickly, but as long as you used a moderate to large amount as well as keep moving your hands on the skin, it does seem to keep the oil slick. We didn’t have any problem with the oil completely absorbing, but I also liked to add a bit more oil every five minutes or so just to keep everything really slick.
Afterwards, the oil absorbed nicely into the skin. It actually felt a bit like body lotion. Only a bit though. It made the skin a bit more slick than just moisturizing. It does leave the skin slick to the touch, but not in a disgusting manner. It just feels nice. It does leave a very slight trace of the scent on the skin. It’s not noticeable unless someone is intimately close to you.
I can’t say that I noticed much from the gold specks that are supposed to be in the oil though. The oil does seem to leave more of a shimmer on the skin than other oils do, but aside from that, I didn’t notice any extra sparkles on the skin from the gold pieces. I think I was expecting more gold from the oil, but at the same time, it wasn’t overwhelming and didn’t seem to shed on clothing after you put on clothing after the massage.
Overall, LELO makes a good massage oil with this one. The gold flecks don’t seem to make much of a difference, but the oil keeps the skin slick for a massage. The glass bottle makes for a sensual experience with using the oil, and from what I’ve found, the bottle doesn’t seem to be leaking at all aside from the initial packaging. LELO did a great job with this massage oil. Thanks to FunWares for providing me the LELO Massage Oil for review.
