LELO Iris Review

LELO Iris
The body of the Iris

The LELO Iris is one of the LELO vibrators sold by TabuToys. This silicone and plastic vibrator is rechargeable. It is about nine inches long, and at the widest point, it has a diameter of about an inch and a half. This toy is splashproof, but it’s not waterproof, so I would recommend against taking this underwater. Silicone is body-safe, and this LELO toy has a texture on the shaft of the toy – which is very rare for any of the LELO toys.

LELO packaging is always amazing to me. The toy itself comes packaged in a plain, unmarked black box that makes it perfect for being discreet. The vibrator itself comes sitting in a little plastic tray that makes it really easy to store in when its not in use. The charger, storage bag, and instructions also come in this box, and they easily store underneath the tray of the Iris. If you need some discreet storage, this box actually does a really nice job. It also is perfect for gift-giving as well.

Showing how wide the Iris is

The LELO Iris is rechargeable. There is no reason to try and keep track of bateries when you have the Iris around. The Iris charges to a full charge in three hours, and that gives it four hours of user time. It has a stand-by time of 90 days as well, so it will sit around with a charge pretty well. It should never be left on the charger for more than 24 hours. The charging port for the Iris is on the butt of the vibrator; it’s covered by a silicone piece to protect water or other things from getting in the socket. All LELO chargers are interchangeable, so if you own another LELO toy, the charger will work for the Iris as well. It’s very easy to plug-in the Iris, and while it’s charging, the LED backlight will pulse. When it’s finished charging, it has a steady color to let you know that it’s done.

LELO Iris
The curve of the Iris

The LELO Iris is a quality sex toy. The body and shaft of the toy is silicone. There’s a little metal band around the middle of the toy, and below the metal band, the toy is made from plastic. The entire body of the toy is extremely easy to clean. Directly underneath the silicone layer is a hard material, so the silicone material of the Iris is not pliable at all. It’s a nice covering, and it feels velvety and soft but not plushy.

The LELO Iris includes two different vibration points. It’s actually really neat. One of the vibration points is at the tip of the vibrator while the other vibration point is more towards the metal part of the vibe. It’s actually really unique. It defaults to only using the tip-motor for steady vibrations, but when you start going through the patterns, you can alternates between or use the two points. I use the tip motor the best since it feels the best clitorally. If you wanted to use this internally, the motors are actually really useful. The tip has good vibrations and may possibly hit your g-spot while the motor by the metal piece will stimulate the outer nerves of the vagina.

LELO Iris
The control panel for the Iris

The Iris is relatively quiet with the vibrations. There’s no way that it would be heard through a closed door. The lower vibration strengths probably couldn’t be heard in the same room. The strength isn’t amazing, but the vibration strength is on the stronger side of moderate. I wouldn’t call it very strong, but I’d say that, if all you require is moderate or average vibrations, the LELO Iris would work just fine for you.

LELO Iris
The discreet packaging

The controls for the Iris are very intuitive. If you press the + or – signs, it increases or decreases the vibrations. If you press the up or down buttons, it cycles through the pattern speeds. If you hold down the middle of the button, it will lock the vibration strengths for travel, so it won’t turn on.

This is one of the only LELO toys that has any sort of texture on the shaft. This toy has a neat little flower-like texture on there. The blooming texture on the tip isn’t noticeable during use, but the blooming texture on the lower part of the shaft is much more noticable. The toy, with lubrication, inserts pretty easily. I didn’t use it much for insertion since I liked the vibrations much more for clitoral use. However, it is pretty good for insertion, and if you have a sensitive g-spot, this will stroke your g-spot during use. It didn’t hit mine, but if most average g-spot toys work for you, this one will work for you as well.

The Iris is extremely easy to clean. It just requires warm water and antibacterial soap. Be careful about getting water in the charging port or the vibration controls. It can be sterilized by using bleach, but be careful about where you get the bleach. I recommend using a condom for multiple-partners though. You can use water-based lubricant with this, but I don’t recommend silicone-based. For storage, I recommend keeping this in the original box; it’s great for storage.

Overall, I like the LELO Iris. It’s a pretty big toy, but it’s great for both insertable and external uses, it has some good vibrations, it’s easy to control, and it has some beautiful packaging. If you want a good, textured toy that’s made by LELO and works externally as well, the LELO Iris is a good choice. Thanks to TabuToys for providing this green sex toy for my LELO Iris review.
