The Kama Sutra Treasures of the Sea is a 24.6 ounce plastic tub of bath salts sold by TabuToys adult toys. Designed to give the bathwater a blue tint, soften the skin, and provide a pleasant scent, the Kama Sutra Treasures of the Seat bath salts are designed with sensuality in mind. Including a small “shell scoop”, the tub is made of plastic and designed to bring luxury straight into your baths.
The Treasures of the Sea bath salts are packaged very simply. They come in a cute, blue plastic tub that has a screw-off lid. The plastic means that it can fall and it won’t break (which I appreciate), and the screw-off lid makes it easy to unscrew even if your hands are wet. Inside the jar, there’s a small plastic “shell”. This shell, while mostly for decoration, actually serves as the “scoop” for the bath salt.
Using this stuff is just as simple as it is to use any other bath salts. Just pour in the blue bath salt while the water is still filling in your tub. You can pour it in afterwards, but we find that pouring it in near the faucet while it’s still filling leads to it spreading through the water more as well as more frequent bubbles and a nicer and more powerful scent. I have to admit that the boyfriend uses it more than I do, and he usually just dumps an uncounted amount into the tub until he thinks it’s “enough”. I find that two shell-scoops tends to work just fine for me. His bathwater is a much, much darker blue than mine is. With his method, you still get about 10 uses out of this. With my method, you get about 20 to 30 uses. It really depends on how intense you want your scent and bathwater to be.
It works surprisingly well in the water. It makes a subtle scent that, with time, does go away, but it’s pretty strong at the start. It has never caused any headaches, and it’s a very pleasant smell. It does turn the bath water blue which is really fun, and it adds a new dimension to your bath. It honestly feels more like I get to be a princess with my warm, blue, amazing-smelling bath water. Not only that, but it does leave the skin a bit softer. I wouldn’t say that it’s quite as powerful as using lotion, but when I come out from the bath, my skin does feel much smoother and softer – especially if I had been shaving in that bath. It seems to help a bunch with shaving.
The Kama Sutra Treasures of the Sea bath salts also do produce some bubbles. Don’t get too excited though – while it gives bubbles, it’s nothing like bubble bath, and the bubbles go away pretty easily. It does help enhance the feeling of luxury, though, and if you wanted more bubbles, just add in some of your favorite bubble bath, and then you can have blue water and some bubbles!
For those who are curious about product sensitivities, the ingredients for the Kama Sutra Treasures of the Sea bath salts include: Sodium Sulphate, Sodium Sesquicarbonate, Sodium Thiosulphate, Sodium Dodocyl Benzeneslfonate, Magnesium Sulfate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate, Hydrated Silica, Sodium C 14-16 Olefin Sulfonate, Fragrance (Parfum), Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Germ Oil, Algae, Blue 1 / CI 42090, Geraniol, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Linalool, Benzyl Benzoate. According to the packaging, it has been dermatologist reviewed and allergy tested and designed for external use only.
Luckily, the bath additive doesn’t leave any residue on the tub. As long as you give the tub a good rinse over (we normally shower to shampoo our hair after a bath), that gets rid of all of any remnants of the Treasures of the Sea. No scrubbing or blue tint left in the tub which adds to the relaxation of being able to use it!
Overall, if you are one that loves to enjoy your bath time to the fullest, the Kama Sutra Treasures of the Sea bath salts help improve that alone-time. Whether you want to enjoy it with your partner or by yourself, the salts make your bath a new type of experience with added scents, unique water, and softer skin. We honestly love the stuff, and we’ll definitely be buying more. It makes relaxing at the end of a hard day surprisingly easy! Thanks to TabuToys for providing this relaxing bath salts for my Kama Sutra Treasures of the Sea review.
