The butt plug is poured from Liquid Silicone and features a very flexible, squishy design. The included bullet vibrator is plastic while the screw-on tail is made from faux fur.
The knot butt plug featured in this Juliet Toys Echo review is the Medium in Red White. The Medium has a full length of 5.8″, a knotted diameter of 1.8″, and a tip diameter of 0.8″. If those measurements sound too ambitious for you, the Echo is also available in a Small at about 2/3rds the size.
I would take all marketing photos for the Juliet Toys Echo with a grain of salt, and do not purchase if you’re attached to any specific visual look of the Echo. The tail we received looks different, and the bullet vibrator that came with ours also looks entirely different. The Echo plug itself, however, features the same red and white design as in the marketing photos.
How Does the Juliet Toys Echo Work?
Each part of the Juliet Toys Echo can be detached. This means you can unscrew the tail, and you can easily pop out the bullet vibrator as well. Not only does this make for easier cleaning, but it also allows you to use the Echo itself as a non-vibrating, non-tailed butt plug if you feel like it. It also allows you to use only the vibrations or only the tail if you choose. It, essentially, just opens up more options.
It’s a simple design, but it works.
At the base of the Echo plug itself, there are two holes. One hole is a large, open chasm where the pink vibrating bullet slides in. If you’ve ever used a dildo with an optional vibrating bullet, it’s the exact same concept.
There’s another, smaller hole in the base of the Echo as well. This hole has a small receptive, screw-on port. On the tail, there’s a small screw. You, quite literally, just screw the tail into the base of the dildo when you want to use it.
Again, a very basic design, but it works!
For easiest removal, put some lube inside the bullet vibrator chamber before sliding the bullet vibrator in. Otherwise, getting the bullet vibe back out can be a pain.
Juliet Toys Echo Review: Let’s Talk Tail
Zero complaints about the tail.
It’s lightweight, super fluffy, and it has a pretty gradient between the black towards the screw-in with a snow white tip towards the tip.
It doesn’t feel like “high-quality” fake fur, but it feels like solid quality. I’ve felt much scratchier. This is probably middle-grade stuff.
More importantly, it’s super duper fluffy, and it’s extremely lightweight. It doesn’t “weigh down” the plug, and there’s no chance of this tail being hefty enough to pull the plug out of your butt. It has a really nice fluff to it, though, so when you have the tail attached to the plug, you can get some really fun “swish” action on it while wearing the plug.
If you get lube or any stains on it, you CAN replace the tail without replacing the full kit. Let’s be real here: it’s a snow white tail that’s about to play in an area that regularly has lube and brown stuff around it.
As always, faux fur and lube/fluids don’t tend to mix, so make sure to screw in (and unscrew) the tail with clean hands. This may involve washing your hands after play in order to unscrew the tail from the plug to wash it.
Juliet Toys Echo Review: Let’s Talk the Vibrating Bullet
I genuinely expected to have lots of bad things to say about the vibrating bullet. It comes across as pretty cheap, and for a silicone toy at this price range, that checks out. You can’t keep prices at half the cost of most remote controlled vibrators while simultaneously including a silicone butt plug and a tail.
But I’ve been relatively surprised by the vibrating bullet’s reliability.
When you’re naked, the remote does a surprisingly solid job of controlling the vibrations in the plug while you’re wearing it. As long as you’re in the same room, you don’t even really have to point it at the toy; you just need to be within a good 6-foot span, and you won’t really have to worry about the toy’s reliability.
Considering this sex toy comes with a long tail, being able to use this while naked fits the use profile.
For public play, though, the toy doesn’t have the reliability. As soon as layers of clothing or distance are involved, the remote’s reliability goes down dramatically. I spent more time asking “Did it work?” with an answer of “no” than we actually spent enjoying it at the restaurant. (That’s the downside of trialing every aspect for a thorough Juliet Toys Echo review though!)
Once you have the vibrations on, they’re okay. They’re relatively buzzy and somewhat loud. They can easily be heard inside of the same room when the toy is inserted, and it only gets louder if the vibrator/plug’s base presses up against a firm surface.
They have worked as a quick “tease” for him when he’s wearing it, but if we leave it on for more than a minute or two (even on the patterns!), the area starts to go numb relatively quickly. This has actually been a problem a few times when we’ve tried to transition from using this plug to a prostate massager or pegging. He doesn’t get the “usual” sensation from those activities. It’s like the nerve endings have just been too overstimulated for a bit.
Instead, we’ve used the vibrations as more of a “shock collar” kinda feature. When I want him to remember that the plug and tail are inside of him, I’ll turn on the vibrations for a few seconds. The bullet vibrator is removable from the Echo. If you wanted to, you could swap out another remote-controlled bullet vibrator. Just FYI.
Juliet Toys Echo Review: Let’s Talk About That Butt Plug!
I love the design of the Echo butt plug itself. Juliet Toys has somehow managed to keep that iconic, knotted look while making a design that functions as a butt plug. It’s perfect for wearwolf fantasies.
My submissive loves the design of the Echo butt plug because it simply works. The extra-large knot at the base functions as a great “gripping point” for the plug, really anchoring it inside of the butt once that knot makes it inside. The smaller retention area adds to it, and he has really enjoyed the sensations of the Echo sliding in then staying inside.
We would caution that you’ll want to plan for a bit of warm-up time before using the Juliet Toys Echo butt plug. Depending on what size you get, your Echo is going to jump a full inch or half inch in diameter without much of a taper once you aim to slide in that final knot. This is a pretty intense stretch. Make sure you’ve warmed up on thicker dildos before you pull out the Echo.
Surprisingly, walking around with the plug in works better than we both expected. We’ve taken this butt plug out on a few public play adventures, and unlike some of our other femdom sex toys, this one stays within the body pretty well. We’ve never had it slide out, and we’ve never been worried that it would slide out.
Since the tail would be a pain in the (literal) butt for public play, we leave the tail off when trying to use this in public. Since the remote control doesn’t work while clothed, we leave the bullet vibrator out of public adventures too.
Sitting, once we arrive at our destination, is another story. The Medium is almost 6″ in total length. This is just, simply, a really long butt plug.
We specifically have to choose booths and plushier seating. If he sits down on wooden chairs, it pushes the plug even further up inside of him, and it starts to poke very uncomfortably against internal walls. The plushiness of the seating helps provide some cushion, preventing the base of the plug from shoving up too roughly.
Even with that plushy seating, though, he says sitting in public isn’t his favorite. When he is “supposed” to sit upright (like at a dinner table), the plug just pushes further into his body than most plugs do. It leads to an intense feeling of fullness and pressure that can border on uncomfortable when he moves or bends the wrong way.
When he sits at home, though, this is less of an issue. He’ll sit down, spread his legs, and prop his legs onto something. This means he isn’t sitting fully upright, and he’s sitting with horrendous posture that means he isn’t putting a ton of weight on the base of the plug. With this lazier posture, he can ride out those intense feelings of fullness.
Final Thoughts: Juliet Toys Echo Review
Ideally, you can use the tail, vibrator, wireless remote, and plug as a full set, offering wirelessly-controlled vibrations with a plug that stays in and a tail that swishes around.
In practice, this entire tail butt plug set-up works pretty well for home use when you’re naked. The remote control vibrator issues commands pretty reliably, the tail stays really nicely attached and has a really fun, fluffy swish, and the plug stays in the body and feels pretty full.
That’s really the best use for Juliet Toys Echo. It fulfills that niche perfectly at this price point.
The Echo’s modular design will tempt you into trying more, though. Unscrewing the tail lets you wear the Echo as a standard butt plug – though the long plug length makes it a bit uncomfortable on some seats. The remote controlled vibrator seems like it’d have the potential for public play, but clothing and a loud vibration motor tend to dampen that adventure.
If you plan on using the Echo as it looks, though, as a sensation-heavy way to enjoy a fluffy, vibrating tail in your bum in the privacy of your own home, you’re probably going to be a happy camper.
