UPDATE MARCH 2020: “Indecent Proposals” is no longer in production. This review still remains as a reference for anyone seeking information about the board game.
To help spice up your love life, there’s the “Indecent Proposals” game sold by Love Buddy adult toys. In this game, which is structured semi-similarly to a popular mainstream board game, you “sell” sexual favors to earn cash which you then can “redeem” for sex at the end of the game. Needless to say, because of the way this game is played, you’ll want to consider your partner’s past experiences and possible sensitivities before playing this one, but if you know your partner would be okay with it, then the game does go about things in a respectable and decent way.
The “Indecent Proposals” game comes in a sturdy cardboard box. This box won’t hold up to too many heavy objects being placed on top of it, but it will hold up to lighter items being placed on it. It doesn’t look like the cardboard is going to give way easily. This box is pretty long and slender, though, so it’s going to require a special spot for storage – especially as the box is not too discreet, so you’re not going to want to put it somewhere where just anyone could see it. Inside the box, you’ll find the game board, 88 activity cards, 20 one-hundred-dollar bills, 20 fifty-dollar bills, 2 game tokens, and one dice.
This game is designed for two players. You could possibly play this game with more than two players, but you’ll need to get more game tokens, and there may not be enough paper money in the kit to play it. However, you could adjust the rules to make it work for multiple players if you really wanted to.
This Indecent Proposals Board Game is played pretty simply. You both start off with some money and at the start of the board game. You roll the dice, and that’s how many squares you get to move. Depending on where you land, you pick a card that matches the picture of the square you landed. You then place that card face-up between you and your partner. You can either choose to “buy” this favor from your partner, or you can choose to “sell” this favor to your partner to make some money. The game continues in this manner until one of you lands on the “Indecent Proposals” square (which is only a single square on the board). Then you choose one of the “Indecent Proposals” cards, and if you can afford to “buy” this from your partner, the game is over. If not, the card is put back, and you both continue to play the game. Again, it’s pretty simple.
As far as I can tell, there’s a slight “theme” to each color of cards. There are three different colors plus the “Indecent Proposal” cards. The orange ones seem to have something to do with the mouth/licking, the purple ones all appear to be relevant to kissing, and the green ones all seem to be relevant to touching. To be honest, none of them are all that creative, and they’re actually a bit lame in places. For example, one of the cards asks you to “Playfully wrestle with your partner”. While that’s totally fun, it also is a bit awkward because you just wrestle then come back to the game. Another card says something like “Kiss your lover wherever you desire”. Again, this card could be really fun, but at the same time, it doesn’t really give you much “direction”, so if someone isn’t being too creative or “into” the moment, you might have some issues getting things feeling as fluid and flowing as they should be.
The final cards, the “Indecent Proposals” cards, are surprisingly numerous. There are just as many of these cards as there are of the other types of cards. This is odd considering you’re only probably going to draw one or two of these cards per game while you’ll most likely be going through the entire pile of most of the other colored cards. These cards, like the other cards, vary in how useful they’ll be. For example, one of the cards says “Take your lover into a different room and make love to them in the position of your choice”. That’s not exactly too unique or interesting. However, another one says “Role-play a sexual fantasy of your choosing” or “Take your lover into the bathroom and make love in the bathtub or shower”. So some of them are more unique than others.
The game is pretty fun to play. It’s simple, and you can easily be playing the game within five minutes of opening it. At the same time, though, the “ending” that requires you to land on the “Indecent Proposals” square can be frustrating. This is because this square is only one square on the board, and if you have bad luck, you and your partner could skip over this square multiple times. In those cases, the game will start to get pretty boring, and you’ll probably just end up giving up on “officially” ending the game anyway. But I wish there had been another ending requirement such as the first person to hit $500 wins or something.
Overall, “Indecent Proposals” is an interesting board game that’s really not all that unique. If you and your partner are seeking an adult board game that’s going to make you try new, but pretty basic, foreplay ideas, then it works. However, don’t expect this game to go too far out into “unique” or “kinky”. It’s fun, and for some people, it’s going to be a huge turn-on to “buy” or “sell” sexual favors, but at the same time, the game’s suggestions aren’t too out there either. It is enjoyable to play, though, and it has some slight replayable value as well (as long as you don’t play it too often). Thanks to LoveBuddy adult toys for providing this sex board game for my Indecent Proposals Board Game review.
