If you’re looking to improve vaginal strength for overall better body health, the IMToy Candy is one of the more-advanced options out there. Built as a single-ball kegel exerciser, this toy is built with the gentle helping hand of technology. At 33mm in size and made from slick, silicone material, this toy is waterproof and its compatible app is designed to work with both Apple and Android products. The Candy comes with a wireless charging dock that also doubles as a UV sterilization station to ensure that your Candy kegel exerciser is always clean and ready to go.
The packaging for the Candy kegel exercise is thorough enough to make it easy to set-up. With a tech-connected device like this, I always worry. With this toy, however, you’re going to be impressed as you open it up. The Candy kegel ball is packed away inside its docking port which is stored inside a sturdy cardboard box with a cardboard slipcover. You’ll find an instruction manual, the charging dock, the charging dock cover, Candy itself, and a cord to power the charging dock. Everything packs up really nicely back into the original box, but honestly, with the charging dock and the cover, there’s no reason to need to put it back into the original box for standard bedside storage. It’s already pretty discreet.
A personal nitpick is the horrendous instructions. The instructions are *thorough*, but there are so many misspellings and bad grammar on it that it hurts. Since a lot of the company and website looks to be English-based, it’s really odd that the manual doesn’t look like someone even ran spellcheck on it.
I must admit: this is the first time I think I’ve ever had to review how well a sex toy connects to a cell phone. This is new! I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 5, and the vibrator’s app works just fine on my phone. It’s a relatively small app, and it doesn’t take long to install itself. Upon opening, it will want you to imput your personal details as well as create an account on their website. It’s a pretty painless process.
The vibrator DOES a bit more painful if you forget to connect the Candy sex toy to your app before inserting. Before you actively insert the toy into yourself, you need to make sure to pair it with the app. You can’t pair it once the toy is inserted. You’ll get used to this chain of events after awhile, but it also means that if you wanted to double-up workouts, you’ll need to remove the toy to reconnect it to the app then insert it again. Not deathly annoying, but for this girl (who hates lube on her hands), it’s not my favorite.
What is that chain of events? It’s pretty simple – you just have to get used to the order. First, turn on the Candy vibrator. You’ll need to have Bluetooth on on your phone and to open the app. They’ll connect pretty easily to one another. You then need to add some lube to your kegel exerciser, and it’s time to slide it in. Once you have, you can begin your training program with the app, and it will provide vibrations to help nudge you along your training program. This isn’t an orgasmic toy – the vibrations are gentle. You can feel them, but they won’t be earth-shattering.
As you do your kegel exercises, the app will notify you about how far you’ve done and how long you are until you’re done. It has standard kegel exercises recommended by professionals such as tightening and holding, pulsing, etc. Some of the exercises include movement, too, like using the kegel exerciser during squats or while walking or climbing stairs. Each one of the workouts seems to be less than 10 minutes in length. To ensure you stick to a good schedule, the app also lets you set it up to provide a push notification reminder to your phone to do your next session.
I was a bit surprised to find that it doesn’t seem to record anything about how tightly you clench or how intensely you grip the ball. It seemed like, with the technology that it offers and that some similar kegel items are out there claiming they can do that, that the Candy doesn’t offer such a feature. It will transmit data after your session about whether you finished the session or not, but I don’t have any cold, hard numbers to tell me whether the kegel exercises are making me tighter. I’m a bit of a number nerd, so I’m a bit sad. I was hoping to see whether morning weight lifting would make a difference or whether a night of drinking the night before might slow my reflexes – things like that. However, it doesn’t provide those numbers. It just tells you whether you finished the program or not.
As for the Candy Kegel ball itself, it’s a pretty manageable kegel ball. It’s 33mm in diameter which puts it at about the size of other standard kegel exercisers such as FunFactory’s UNO and DUO. It’s made from a super-silky silicone that feels really smooth against the hands. The retrieval string is made of the same, luxurious soft silicone. The retrieval string isn’t stretchy at all; it’s actually very stable. Don’t worry about it “snapping” back at you like a rubber band if you accidentally lose grip of it while covered in lube. It stays exactly where you put it – but it’s flexible enough to feel comfortable against your body if you choose to use the Candy kegel exerciser for fun out in public while wearing clothes as well. It has the single button on it that’s extremely easy to press with fingers. It shouldn’t accidentally get pressed with internal muscles with the design of the toy.
Another outstanding feature of the IMToy Candy is its charging base. Not only does this base function to charge the Candy kegel exerciser (taking 5 hours and including helpful lights that let you know when it’s done), but when the base is flipped over, it offers a UV sterilization light. With a magnet in the center that wirelessly connects to the Candy on the flat platform, it holds the toy in place as you close the lid, and it’ll clean the toy using ultraviolet light when you’re done with the toy. The base can just be turned right-side up, and it offers wireless charging. This multi-functional base just has a simple plug-in on one of the sides that powers the base, so your vibrator will always be ready to go.
As a note, I’ve noticed that the Candy’s battery seems to die quickly – even in stand-by. It seems to be dead when I come to use it for the third use without recharging. For that reason, I’ve been keeping in the charging base without any issue. Since the base is pretty small and easy to carry, it works fine for travel purposes as well.
The Candy Kegel Exerciser seems very dedicated towards doing kegel exercises. Unlike other kegel balls which tend to market themselves as “pleasurable toys that can *also* be used to do exercises”, Candy is focused on the exercise portion. As far as I can tell, you can’t control the vibrations outside of a kegel exercise class through the app, so it’s not really designed to just be worn around for the pleasure. It feels comfortable enough if you just wanted to wear it for fun in public, but it won’t provide any particular sensation when using it like other stand-alone kegel balls can do.
When it comes to cleaning, after you’re done, you’ll want to wipe the kegel exerciser down with a slightly damp washcloth and possibly some soap (depending on your trust in the UV cleaning). As the kegel exerciser is waterproof, it’s really easy to clean without worrying about getting water in areas. Use the UV sanitizer base for sterilization. Water-based lubricants will work best with the Candy kegel exerciser, but you may want to do some experimentation with it before you go gung-ho on using it on your toy.
Overall, if you’re someone who really needs some help sticking to an exercise program and you want to see some improve in your vaginal muscles, the IMToy Candy kegel exerciser could really help. Similar to something like a 30-day workout program, the Candy offers precise, determined plans that will poke at you to complete them through your phone. However, it’s missing some of the technological features I would have really loved to see in a kegel exerciser like this – such as cold, hard data about all of the improvements I’m making. It guides you really well through kegel exercises that will leave you feeling a bit sore, but if you’re a self-starter who would stick to a program without the integration, you may prefer a cheaper option. For those who really like the kick in the pants to improve their overall health, the Candy kegel exerciser might be a good option. Thanks to IMToy for providing this app kegel exerciser for my Candy kegel exerciser review.
