The Icicles No. 24 glass dildo is a small, short dildo that is very textured and includes a little handle-hold for easy grasping. The dildo is made from Pyrex glass, so it’s extremely sturdy. Pipedream Products makes this toy, and it’s made with quality in mind. The dildo is about six inches long with about four inches of insertable length. At the widest point, the diameter is about an inch and a half, but it’s more oval-shaped instead of the traditional circular shape you’d expect from most dildos.
The packaging for all of the Icicles line is gorgeous. It’s a cardboard box that has an opening-up flap on the front that lets you see the sex toy through a plastic pane. (Like most computer games have that flap as well) The dildo itself is kept in a piece of foam that is pre-cut exactly for the shape of the dildo, so it keeps it extremely safe. You can keep your dildo in this packaging and it will work great, but I must say that I’m a bit disappointed that Pipedream didn’t include any sort of bag. With how amazing the Icicles dildos are, I want to own a lot of them, and having ten of these boxes is going to get space-consuming. I’ll probably purchase a storage bag later.
The Icicles Number 24 has one of the most intense glass dildo textures out there. In fact, I could probably say that it is the most intense one out of all of the toys I’ve tried.
The Icicles No. 24 has smooth sides of the dildo; the dildo itself is shaped more in an oval-fashion than a circular fashion as well, so it’s wider than it is tall. The bottom half of the shaft has little ridges that resemble the types of “veins” you see on plastic penises that look ridiculously exaggerated. It also reminds me a bit of a tree, so think winter-tree, and that’s the type of texture that’s on the bottom. (It extends about 1/16 out of the dildo)
The upper part is the interesting part. The upper part includes two rows of 1/6 raised bumps that extend throughout the length of the dildo. In between these bumps is a little “alcove” that runs all the way through the length as well, so there’s a huge difference between the dildo itself and the raising of the bumps. Both textures can definitely and easily be felt during use – especially when you consider that the first three inches of the vagina have the most nerves, and this sex toy has only about 4 inches of insertable length.
I highly, highly recommend using lubricant with this glass sex toy. Normally, I say that natural lubrication can be enough with glass, but it’s not quite enough with this textured toy. This dildo does need lubricant; I recommend water-based since silicone-based can almost make the texture seem not as intense (which might be exactly what you’re after).
The handle is perfect for handling the dildo as well. I love it; it makes holding a glass dildo much easier. The end of the dildo curls around in a little circular fashion to allow you to hold. Since the bumped texture also continues onto this handle, it’s even easier to hold – even if your hands are slicked up with lubricant. In some positions of holding the dildo, though, the little bumps on the handle can cut into your skin a bit and feel painful – especially after holding it for awhile. For the most part, though, that just needs a bit of repositioning, and you’re good to go.
During use, the dildo can be very intense. It’s probably one of the most texture-intense dildos I’ve ever felt (and reminds me of the Mr Hankey’s Dragon). The edge of the dildo curls up slightly, so if, unlike me, you have a shallow g-spot, you’ll also get some g-spot pleasure from this dildo as well.
I, however, just enjoyed this dildo just because of the interesting sensation. Because all of the texture is so obvious, it feels really, really pleasurable and interesting.
The dildo doesn’t go too deep either. Because it’s pretty short at about four insertable inches, all of the texture and such stays exactly where the vagina is most sensitive to it, and at times, it can almost be too much. It’s really, really insane – and in a good way.
Glass is really great for temperature play. This glass sex toy can be soaked in warm water or cool water to make the dildo itself that temperature. It will retain that temperature for quite a while during play. At the same time, it’s not like stainless steel since it usually stays around room temperature when you’re not using it, so it’s never really that frigid. Pyrex glass is also really strong, so you don’t have to worry about it breaking during use. It is not all that fragile, and the only thing that’s really going to harm this sex toy is if you drop it somewhere without any sort of protection.
Cleaning up this sex toy is extremely simple. You just use warm water and mild soap. Since this one does have some nooks and crannies, I highly recommend making sure to get in those and between the textures to make sure you clean it all. It doesn’t need a toothpick or anything, but just make sure you let the hot water run over the toy, or soak it in a bath of soapy water to get all of the ickies off of it – especially if you are prone to yeast infections or irritations. Any type of lubricant is compatible with this glass dildo. Along with that, it can be stored in the original packaging very easily for long-term storage.
Overall, the Icicles No. 24 is an amazing quality dildo that has an intense texture that will be a god-send if you love texture. The dildo itself is pretty slick, and it’s extremely easy to use. The handle on the end keeps this sex toy from slipping, and I’m really fond of the short length and the texture on the surface. This is easily one of my favorite glass sex toys, and if I’m in the mood for texture, it’s the one I’m going to reach for.
