Fetish Fantasy Series Wartenburg Wheel
The box for the pinwheel

The Fetish Fantasy Series Wartenburg Wheel is a small plastic and stainless steel Wartenburg Wheel that’s six inches in length. The little wheel’s spikes are only about 1/16 of an inch in length, so it’s not much. The handle is plastic while the wheel is stainless steel. This also comes with a free blindfold to help enhance the pleasure while you play with the wheel.

The packaging is pretty basic. It comes in a little box that reminds me slightly of the shape of a box that toothpaste would come in. This little box is just light cardboard, and it could not hold weight if someone was placed on top of it, so it’s really not suitable for storage. I would recommend reading the box then just throwing it away after you’ve taken the wheel out of the box.

Fetish Fantasy Series Wartenburg Wheel
The wheel and the blindfold

I actually have owned a Wartenburg Wheel for a long while. It’s actually one of the first toys that we ever bought. We bought it really cheaply, and we’ve used it ever since. In case you are curious, the Wartenburg Wheel (not this version, obviously) is a real-life doctor’s item. It’s used to conduct the sensitive of nerves and nerve receptors when you go in to see the doctor. I have kink friends who love to giggle anytime the doctor actually uses one in a professional setting since it’s a popular kink item.

I can’t say that I’m very fond of the design of this wheel. I like the pretty handle, and that looks good to me, but I just don’t know what’s up with the little scoop-like design that attaches the wheel to the handle. It just looks awkward to me, and I’m not very fond of it. It doesn’t seem to get in the way, so it’s just there for aethestic use. Because of how the wheel is designed, there’s no way for the bowled-out portion to touch the skin, so it’s more of an odd thing that confuses me design-wise since I feel like there were more attractive ways to attach that. However, it doesn’t effect the usability any, so it’s just a personal preference.

One thing that did annoy me a lot is that the wheel squeaks. Like you’d fix anything else that squeaked in your house, you can spray cooking spray or use silicone lubricant to make it stop squeaking, but if you let it continue to squeak, it is a bit annoying during use. I recommend putting some sort of oil on it early on to keep it from squeaking during your play session.

This product also comes with a free blindfold. I’ve always really liked the Fetish Fantasy Series blindfolds. They surprisingly work amazingly well. It doesn’t block out all light, but you only can see a slight bit under the nose. It’s heavy enough in material where it actually seems pretty dark under the blindfold, and the elastic holds it onto your face without cutting off the bloodflow in your head. We actually use these blindfolds quite a bit. They work well for us.

So is this painful? Not really. If I was going to compare it to something, I’d say that this feels like having someone lightly bring fingernails down your back. You know it’s there, and it’s slightly pointy, but it’s more sensual than painful, and it gives you a shiver down your spine instead of making you want to cry. Could this be used to draw blood? Yes. Is that easy to do? No, not really at all. Unless you put some serious arm muscle into this, the most that it’s going to do is tickle the surface of the skin, so don’t be too afraid of this wheel. It looks a lot scarier than it is, I promise.

Showing the top-down view

In comparison to the original Wartenburg Wheel, this wheel is so much more tame. If the appearance of these wheels frightens you and you think it’s going to go be too much pain, please go with this wheel instead of the other one. Since the spikes aren’t nearly as long or pointy, this does have have the same capability to cause pain that the other wheel does. It can still cause pain, yes, but you have to put a whole, whole lot more effort into it than you would with the other wheel that EdenFantasys carries. If you know you want to cause pain/draw blood, go with the other wheel, but if you’re looking for something just to cause more sensual sensations, I’d go with this one.

Cleaning the Fetish Fantasy Series Wartenburg Wheel is easy. It’d be possible to draw blood, but this is made from stainless steel so it can be bleached for sterilization. Make sure you know what you’re doing before assuming it’s sterilized after coming in contact with bodily fluids though; it’s your responsibility as the user of this item. It can be cleaned regularly with warm water and anti-bacterial soap; it can be dipped in a bowl of that and swished around. It doesn’t come with any particular way to store it, so just be careful you don’t grab the spikes when attempting to fetch this item.

Overall, while this pinwheel is not as intense as the other one sold on EdenFantasys, I think it’s a good choice for most. The other pinwheel can be painful and scary looking, but this one is much more tame, and it’s hard to cause pain. This wheel ends up working pretty well for us as long as we’re looking for something more sensual than painful.
