One of the latest releases from California Exotics, the Embrace Body Massager is a powerful wand massager for pleasurable vibrations. Made from silicone with ABS plastic, the massager is entirely waterproof and is dual-ended for vibrations exactly how you want them. It’s a rechargeable massager that charges via USB (with the charging cable included), and the head size is 2.25″ in size with an overall length of 8.75″.
The Embrace Body Wand Massager comes in a nice package. As it’s a nice, sturdy rectangular box, you could easily end up wrapping this in gift wrap to give as a present. The vibrator comes in a sturdy black box with a lift-top lid. The exterior of the box is wrapped in a cardboard sleeve that explains what the vibrator is, but once the sleeve is removed, the box is entirely discreet with no mention of the vibrator (for great storage!) The interior is lined with a foam that’s designed to hold the vibrator in place, and it even includes a small cut-out for the USB charging cable. It also includes a small piece of paper about instructions. The box really was designed for storage, though, so if you like discreet boxes to keep your toys safe, you’ll love this one.
If you don’t want to hassle with batteries, this massager is for you. However, in the history of every rechargeable vibrator I’ve ever owned, I’ve never had such a problem getting the vibrator to charge. The charging port was designed to be difficult to penetrate to allow the vibrator to be waterproof. However, it is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to penetrate the first time. As in, I couldn’t push it in. I tried placing it on the corner of a table and pushing the vibrator onto it with my full weight to no avail. We ended up having to do a delicate process of NAILING the thing into the vibrator. It was absolutely ridiculous. It seems to have “loosened” the seal, though, and subsequent charging attempts have been much better. They still aren’t easy, but it does actually go in like it’s supposed to, so it’s a definite improvement.
In a unique design, the Embrace Body Wand Massager is actually dual-ended. It comes equipped with two motors. One motors is situated in the “handle” while the other is situated in the wand massager head itself. You wouldn’t think that looking at the vibrator since the handle honestly just looks like a handle, but it actually doubles as an insertable vibrator. These two motors are individually-controlled via the buttons on the front of the vibrator.
When it comes to controlling your vibrator, the Embrace Body Wand Massager seems really confusing at first, and I mean REALLY confusing, but once you figure out how it was designed to be controlled, it makes quite a bit of sense. It has two buttons. Each button controls the motor that it’s situated closer to. Press the button to turn on the vibrations. Press the button over and over to increase the intensity of the vibrations. Hold down the button to turn off the vibrations. Understand that you can control both motors separately, so you’ll need to turn on and turn off the motors separately.
This wand massager comes equipped with 7 functions of vibration, pulsation, and escalation. The head of the massage wand portion is actually flexible, so it will bend when pressure is applied. The insertable/handle portion doesn’t have any flexibility at all, and with its smooth design, it actually works pretty well for insertion. Be aware that the handle gets slippery after inserted, so if you like to have a good grip on your massage to use the massage head side of it, you might want to keep some paper towels around to wipe off your toy.
The Embrace Wand Massager provides an okay sensation for some. However, be aware that it doesn’t have the strength of a usual wand massager. The wand massager head has more “rumbly”, “deep” vibrations while the handle end has lighter vibrations. The wand massager side’s vibrations are slightly more powerful than many standard vibrators. If you require extremely strong vibrations to orgasm, this may not be a good choice of vibrators for you.
As another note, the button placement may be problematic for some. With the design of the buttons, they pretty much fall exactly where I’m used to “holding” a vibrator. This means I’ve accidentally pressed a button. SInce the vibe was on the highest setting, it instantly pushed the vibrator into the patterns of vibrations which isn’t a steady vibration setting any more. The only way to reset that is to hold down the button, turn off the vibrator, and then start back from the beginning to get back to your preferred setting. You may have to find a new way to hold your vibrator if you find yourself doing it on accident as getting back into the setting is relatively frustrating.
Cleaning up this vibrator is actually really easy. Since it’s waterproof, you don’t have to be too careful while handling it. That, partnered with the fact that it doesn’t have too many “nooks” in it, will allow you to clean it pretty easily. Use warm water and anti-bacterial soap for regular cleanings, but if you want to sterilize it, I’d recommend using a water and bleach solution to get everything clean. When it comes to lubricant, water-based lubricant is really the most recommended. Some silicone-based lubricants may harm the surface of your vibrator.
Overall, it’s not a bad vibrator, and I’m not sure if I have a bad toy or if they’re all like this, but charging the vibrator needs to be much, much easier before I’d easily recommend this to others. It’s great that the vibrator is waterproof, but I’m not sure most people will be able to get it to charge after they run out the initial charge. It’s innovative, and I love the idea of being able to have a double-ended wand massager like this, but it looks like this sex toy might have some issues to iron out.
