The E-sensual Bullet is a plastic vibrator that is powered by USB (not charged by, powered by) and is manufactured by California Exotics. The bullet includes the USB port, the attached remote, and the bullet all on the same cable. The cord is 42″ long with about six inches between the bullet and remote. The vibrator includes 7 different functions, and the plastic is made like the Velvet Cote plastic which gives it a really soft and slick feeling.
The packaging for the E-Sensual Bullet is typical California Exotics packaging. It comes in a plastic box that shows off the toy and its features on the outside of the packaging. Inside the box, the E-Sensual Bullet sits in a plastic tray that pulls out easily to allow you to take out the bullet and use it. The packaging is larger than the toy itself, so you may not want to keep the box for future use. The box does show off the features of the toy in a nice and basic way, though, that would be suitable for gift-giving.
The unique thing about the E-Sensual Bullet is that it plugs into your computer’s USB port for USE. Not to charge; the computer’s USB will be its sole power source. I’m honestly one of those people that is really protective of my computer, so I was near-terrified of actually plugging this into my computer’s USB port. Maybe it would want to install a driver or something – who knows?! I’m happy to report, though, that my computer pretty much ignored its existence and went about playing The Sims 3 in its normal manner. The E-Sensual Bullet only seems to take power from the computer, and it doesn’t attempt to interact nor install any drivers with your computer.
With as much as people masturbate near their computers anymore, I think this was a natural progression of sex toys. As a USB can provide a power source for the bullet vibrator, the bullet can be much, much more powerful than you would usually expect from a battery-operated bullet vibrator. However, just like a electricity-powered vibrator, this brings its downsides as well. If you are one of those people who likes to masturbate away from a computer, you won’t be able to use this bullet, and the cord limits how far you can move as well. Plus, if you attach this to a laptop that is running off battery power, it will drain your battery power more quickly – which is to be expected.
The E-Sensual bullet has a couple different components. It has the USB cord which MUST be plugged into a USB port for the bullet to work, the control panel for the bullet, and the bullet vibrator itself. The bullet vibrator is slightly larger than your “usual” bullet, so it won’t fit in toys that have bullet holes in them.
The control remote has two different buttons – two arrows. One makes the vibrations stronger while the other arrow makes the vibrator shut off. There isn’t a way to make the vibrations weaker, so if you accidentally shut it off, you have to scroll through the vibrations to get back to the one you had previously been on. There are no other buttons on the remote. You can easily hit both of the bottoms, and they respond fantastically when you hit them. There are no lights on the bullet to display when it is plugged in or when it is turned on, and the control is made of the same plastic, velvet like material that the bullet is, but with the shape of it and how easy the buttons are to press, there’s no issue pressing the control buttons – even when things are lubricated.
The vibrations are strong! In fact, they’re probably stronger than what you’d get with most traditional bullets because the power source is straight from your computer. The vibrations are rumbly, which is fantastic, and they are pretty power-house-y compared to many bullet vibrations. They actually are almost a little too rumbly and strong for me which is always well-loved! When held, the vibrations are on the louder side, and they can certainly be heard in the same room. On the higher settings, it may be possible to hear them outside of a closed door. When inserted, the vibrations get much quieter to only being able to be heard in the same room.
One of my bigger complaints is the fact that the bullet and the remote to control the bullet are located so close together on the cable. They only are about six inches apart, and while this is an okay length, it does mean that your hand has to be near where you’re using the bullet and can not be laying flat on the bed or controlling the mouse (since we’re talking USB here). You can let the remote just hang, but that makes an uncomfortable pull on your USB (at least, with mine, where I have an external USB hub). You can also rest the remote on your thigh which seems to work the best out of the options. I wish there was a way that the remote wasn’t located so close to the bullet, though, because if I were to want a partner to control it or to lay back while using the bullet, there isn’t much freedom when it comes to the remote control of the sex toy. If you want to insert it, that gives you even less wiggle room when it comes to the cable.
The power is definitely a plus though! I love strong vibrations, and this one definitely delivers. It will definitely be a stronger and deeper vibration than most bullet-users are used to, and I consider that a huge plus! The vibrations are strong enough for orgasm for most (unless you need Hitachi strength), and they may actually be too strong for some. The lowest setting is definitely a kicker already, and it’s not a setting I would start on without already having warmed up – it’s intense for a bullet.
Cleaning, you do have to be careful about this vibrator because it has, y’know, a USB port on the end. It’s not waterproof, obviously, and you’ll want to take care when cleaning the bullet and remote with warm water and antibacterial soap as they were not intended to be waterproof. They are compatible with all types of lubricant, but again, watch the lube as not all of the pieces are meant for liquids in them. You can slip the bullet into a condom really easily if you’re worried about sterilization and cleaning.
Overall, the E-Sensual Bullet is a powerhouse of a bullet that is powered by USB. The fact that it is powered by USB will provide some use limitations, but it also allows it to be more powerful than if it was powered by batteries. If you normally are at your computer and like powerful vibrators, this may be a great toy for you, but if you want the flexibility to take your toy whenever, you may want a different one.
