The Divinity Wrist Restraints is a set of leather cuffs manufactured by Spartacus. The wrists are made from cowhide leather on the outside with a line of faux fur on the inside of the restraints. The cuffs are adjustable from four inches to seven and a half. Unlike other restraints, these cuffs fasten with velcro instead of a metal buckle. Each cuff does have a metal D-ring that will allow you to join these cuffs together or fasten them to other points. Since these are made from leather, they are best for those who are vegan.
The packaging for the Divinity Wrist Restraints is very basic. It’s a blister packaging made from plastic. The packaging is easy to get into and easy to reuse. If you wanted to use the packaging for storage, it wouldn’t be any sort of problem. The backside of the packaging shows the features of the restraints.
I own the Divinity Blindfold, and since it’s honestly been the most high-quality blindfold I’ve ever owned, I figured the Divinity Wrist Restraints would follow that same high-quality. While it isn’t quite what I was expecting, I do still believe that the wrist restraints do follow the same quality that I had gotten from my blindfold. The cuffs are well-made and perfect for beginners.
The first thing that you really have to know about the Divinity Wrist Restraints is that they don’t have a buckle closure like 98% of all wrist cuffs. Instead, these shut with some velcro. Basically, the strap slips through a metal ring then can be folded over itself to velcro itself into place. Because of this velcro, it’s extremely easy to put the cuffs on yourself as well as extremely easy to have the cuffs put on you. Because no one has to fuss with any buckles, it can be taken off and put on within five seconds – at the most. I’m also pleased to let you know that the velcro holds strong – even with struggling. I was worried the velcro would release once any sort of strong pressure was put on the cuffs, but it doesn’t. Even with large amounts of strong struggling, the velcro still keeps these cuffs fastened.
Something of note is that these cuffs are pretty small. They won’t fit large wrists. They’ll fit small and medium wrists, but because the velcro isn’t that adjustable, you’d have a very hard time (if you even could) getting large wrists to comfortable being fastened into these restraints.
I find that these cuffs work best for people who have a fetish for wearing the leather cuffs but aren’t quite ready for the seriousness of cuffs that can fasten. Buckling cuffs can seem more frightening than a cuff that is fastened with velcro. For those who enjoy the fetish of leather but are frightened by the idea of having something locked on them, velcro is a nice happy medium between the two.
The boyfriend was extremely comfortable in them while wearing them. He says that the faux fur doesn’t make him sweat. It doesn’t irritate his skin either. He says the fur is soft enough to be worn for a long time while still feeling slightly restraining like bondage cuffs should. Sometimes the velcro would end up catching his long hair annoyingly, but for the most part, he didn’t really notice much of a difference between the buckle as well as the velcro. The only thing is that, since he’s such an experienced bondage lover, he found that knowing he could so easily unvelcro himself took away a bit from the bondage experience.
The cuffs themselves seem to be well-made. The faux fur is glued as well as sewed onto the cuff of the leather itself. There aren’t any threads coming off of it. The velcro is well-sewn on as well – it doesn’t seem like it’s going to come off of the cuffs. The little gems that are on the cuffs are fastened firmly onto the cuffs by some metal fasteners, so the gems don’t have any sort of chance of falling off of the bondage cuffs.
The cuffs are made from white leather which makes them a bit harder to clean than black leather. For that reason, I suggest you keep it away from any dirty messes or blood. If it does get near a dirty mess, I suggest you use a damp cloth and wipe it down as soon as possible to keep it from piling up. If you do want to clean the faux fur, make sure you allow it to dry before putting it away for storage. Since leather can’t be cleaned with soap as it will harm it, I recommend keeping this away from bodily fluids or other lubricants. For storage, you can keep them any place that has good ventilation.
The Divinity Wrist Restraints are a good option if you have small or medium-sized wrists. They won’t fit large-wristed individuals, but if you have smaller wrists, the cuffs are comfortable, high-quality, and perfect for people who are afraid to use locking cuffs.
