Desire Vibe Review

Desire Vibe
The Desire Vibe

The Desire Vibe is a purple, metallic plastic vibrator from this sex toy store. It’s eight inches long with a diameter of slightly over an inch. Since it’s made as a traditional vibrator, it’s not to be inserted, so the diameter shouldn’t matter too much. The material that the Desire is actually made from is a hard ABS plastic, but it’s been painted over with the purple metallic paint. At the end of the vibrator is a “turn” dial that controls the strength of the vibrations. At the tip of the vibrator, it’s rounded to make it more pleasurable.

The Desire Vibe doesn’t actually come with a specific box. However, it does come with a nice velvet drawstring bag that can keep the Desire safe from any harm. The bag is only big enough for the Desire vibe to be kept – nothing else will really fit into the storage pouch.

The Desire vibe requires two C batteries which is insane for a regular vibrator. Most vibrators usually take the AA at most. This means that the Desire should be stronger than most regular vibrators. To insert the batteries, you unscrew the cap of the vibrator and push in the two C batteries. There’s a plastic lining inside the battery compartment that will keep the batteries from rattling around in the compartment but makes your C batteries a little difficult to retrieve. I recommend leaving it in because it makes the vibrator a lot quieter than it would be without it. Once you have the batteries inserted, the vibrator can be controlled by the “end” of the vibrator which features a dial to control the power of the vibrations. It’s extremely easy to turn, and it makes it easy to adjust to the exact amount of vibration that you want to use.

So how are the vibrations in this thing? Pretty impressive which is honestly what I expected from a C battery powered vibrator. It pretty much uses the basic “low, medium, and high” settings that most people have become used to with vibrators. However, the Desire’s levels of those three are actually a little bit higher than you’d expect from a regular vibrator. The low seems to be stronger than most “lows” and the high is pretty darned awesome. I’d be surprised if the “high” setting really couldn’t get a female off. It’s a very strong setting – most women will honestly not be able to turn up to the “high” setting.

However, with power, comes great (sound) responsibility. It’s not ridiculously loud, but on high, it would be possible to hear the vibrator across the room without too much difficulty. It’d be hard to hear through a closed door though. On low, though, it’s pretty quiet and there’s no way you’d be able to even hear it from a foot away. For as strong as the vibe is, the sound of the sex toy fits in pretty nicely.

As stated before, the Desire is a plastic vibe that’s been painted over with some pretty purple metallic paint sold by Babeland. The paint doesn’t appear to be chipping off, but it does give the sex toy a unique feel to it. It’s very slick, but it does have the hard feel of plastic to it as well. I really doubt that this vibe was meant to be used for insertion. Sure, you could, but for the most part – it’s too firm to be really pleasurable for large amounts of insertion. However, it works great for external stimulation because it has the strong vibrations along with the hard body that allows for the perfect amount of pressure to be applied. The plastic body doesn’t absorb much lubricant during use because of the layer of the paint that keeps it all from getting absorbed so easily.

The Desire Vibe is compatible with all different types of lubricant. To clean this traditional vibe, use warm water and antibacterial soap. For storage, I choose to keep my sex toy in the velvet drawstring bag that it came in. To extend the life of your toy, I recommend storing the batteries in a separate place from the toy when the toy is just going to be sitting around for long periods of time.

It does what it advertises though – it’s a basic traditional vibrator that’s meant to be used for external use. It’s strong and decently quiet which is nice. It comes in a gorgeous velvet bag, and the vibrator itself is definitely easy on the eyes. It doesn’t have the best “features” on the market, but it doesn’t need to. For what it is, it performs great, and I’d recommend it. This adult toy store called Babeland sells this classic vibrator, so pick up the Desire Vibe today.
