The Bondaids Double Restraints from Adam & Eve sex toys are a set of soft, beginner bondage restraints that are designed to be easy to use. Despite the picture shown on the website, the Bondaids Double Restraints only comes with two restraints; however, these restraints are flexible enough to function as both wrist restraints or as ankle restraints.
The Bondaids Double Restraints come in nice packaging that’s functional as well. They come in a small, black, drawstring satin bag that allows you to store the Bondaids cuffs right in the bag. The cuffs fit easily into this little pouch. The pouch does have a small tag that says “Bondaids” on it, but if you are concerned about discretion, you can easily take some scissors and snip off the tag. Along with that, the Bondaids come with a small, full-color guide that shows exactly how to use the Bondaids (including pictures!) The guide is extremely helpful considering these aren’t quite the same as usual standard bondage items.
So how do the Bondaids differ from traditional bondage sets? Instead of just being a piece of leather or fabric that fastens onto itself, Bondaids use the idea of pulling a fabric through itself to make a “loop” that your wrist fits through. By doing this, they could leave out any sort of “fastener”. The Bondaids cuffs are made from a really soft faux fur that’s really silky against the skin, and in the case of the Double Restraints Bondaids, the end of the Bondaids material leads right into a nylon tether that allows you to tether these cuffs to any external anchor point for fun bondage.
The first time you have to use the Bondaids bondage cuffs, you might be a bit lost. Basically, you make the cuff BEFORE you actually put your arm or hand into the BondAid bondage cuff. That might trip some people up. Once you have the loop and everything, then you insert your hand, and pull it tight. Again, if you get confused, the instructions are full-color with pictures, and it will literally take you less than a minute to learn to use these. It’s not hard at all. If you’re still having issues, you can go online to the official BONDaids site, and they have full-video instructions there too.
The Bondaids are surprisingly comfortable. AMAZINGLY comfortable, actually. I’ve been actually typing up most of this review while wearing them, and I honestly forget that I’m wearing them. It’s like wearing this really warm bracelet that feels comfortably tight and pleasurable. I can rotate my wrist in the cuffs as well as rub the material up and down my wrist, but it doesn’t hurt or chaffe. This is very, very comfortable. You really can’t use these for “around the house” wear, though, as the nylon tethers that are attached to the cuffs don’t actually detach, so you’d have long arm-tails if you tried it.
These bondage cuffs were not designed to hold up to heavy use. They are mostly made up of this fluffy, faux fur material. And they are extremely comfortable.
However, I doubt this material will hold up to very intense use. It WILL hold up to heavy pulling, but at the same time, during heavy pulling, I noticed areas on my wrist that were receiving a lot more of the stress and ended up hurting afterwards, so while the BondAids cuffs will physically hold up to heavier use, I don’t think that the faux fabric is displacing the weight equally which means you should avoid too much heavy use in these just for the safety of your joints and nerves. But the occasional rough tug will definitely not hurt them.
For use, the Bondaids are surprisingly awesome. They don’t feel like standard bondage cuffs, but they feel unique in their own way. They do a surprisingly good job of holding someone in bondage, and they’re pretty awesome, really. Just a general “awesome”. Along with having the nylon tethers directly attached to the cuffs, these nylon tethers actually come with pre-made loops in them as well. This makes it even easier to attach to bondage points because you just have to throw the loop around, and you’ll be good to go. With the adjustability provided by the adjusters on the nylon straps, you also can shorten and lengthen the nylon straps as well which means that you can have someone in the bondage position that you want them in without much fuss.
What about escapability? These cuffs are relatively difficult to escape unless you have help from another person. This is because the Bondaids get tighter with the more you pull on them. So in order to get out of them, you have to get slack in the cuffs, and that’s very hard without having another hand to “pull” out some slack to be able to release yourself. So as long as you have the two hands separated far enough out, it becomes pretty difficult to escape. You CAN escape, but it’s pretty difficult.
If you want to clean these bondage cuffs, I’m not really sure what to do, to be honest. The instructions have no instructions about it, and their website doesn’t really have any information either. I’d definitely recommend gently wiping it down with a damp washcloth as well as letting the cuffs fully dry before you put them away. I’m not sure I’d recommend anything harsher, though, if you want to keep the faux fur all soft and fluffy. For storage, they store surprisingly well in the black satin bag that the bondage cuffs come with.
Overall, the Bondaids bondage cuffs were a definite surprise to me. They’re awesome! They aren’t quite like traditional bondage cuffs, but they stand out in their own way by being comfortable, pretty high-quality and durable, and very simple and non-threatening. The cuffs don’t seem to apply pressure evenly enough to use them for very heavy bondage, but aside from that minor flaw, the Bondaids Double Restraints are amazing and allow you to take your bondage to a fun, fluffy level. Thanks to Adam & Eve for providing this beginner bondage cuffs for my Bondaids Double Restraints review.
