Designed just for the beginner who wants to start experimenting with anal toys, Tantus has created the Perfect Plug Kit. A mixture of two of their beginner plugs, this kit includes the Perfect Plug and the Perfect Plug Plus. (Both purchasable on their own). The Perfect Plug has a max diameter of 0.75″ (about a finger size) while the Perfect Plug Plus has a max diameter of 1.2″. The larger plug (the Plus) is equipped with a removable 3-speed, waterproof bullet vibrator. Both plugs are made entirely from scent-free silicone. (Tantus silicone is always amazing).
These Tantus toys come in pretty basic packaging that protects your silicone plugs well while also being easy to get at your new toys. No fussing with difficult packaging. Kept in a blister pack plastic container, the sides just pull apart to reveal the silicone plugs. The packaging is a bit large for long-term storage when a plastic baggie would suffice, so you may not want to keep it around forever.
The two sizes honestly are perfectly sized for “beginners”, so keep that in mind. If you have used a couple plugs before, you may as well just purchase the larger size on its own as the thinner size isn’t going to do much for you. The thinner one has about the same width (maybe a bit less) than a finger, so while it’s fun to be able to use a plug if you’re not comfortable taking a larger size, this slim size isn’t going to do much for anal regulars.
The larger one is where the more intense pleasure is at. I would say that even anal beginners should be able to take the larger one without much of an issue on their first or second session. This larger one is equipped with optional vibrations, and once you turn on the vibrations, they can definitely be felt throughout the entire plug’s shaft. They aren’t intense, but they definitely move throughout the silicone to give you a gentle, pleasurable buzz throughout the toy.
My love for the Tantus base design extends to these. Since some of their “older style” toys, they’ve chosen this slender, but long, slimline base that helps keep the toy outside of the butt entirely while still fitting nicely between the cheeks. You definitely aren’t going to feel any discomfort from the base while wearing these. The slimmer profile partnered with the soft (but not too soft!) silicone base means they work with your body nicely.
Now, the ability to retain these plugs is really going to depend on how “large” of items you usually take – and what you’re doing. While the plugs are pleasurable to play with, they don’t offer a huge “retention” area, so they honestly don’t stay in nearly as well as most plugs do. With some help (such as a harness), they’ve stayed in pretty decently, but for longer journeys (such as walking around main street), there was a constant concern about the plug slipping out – and rightfully so, since it did shortly after getting back from the trip. So I wouldn’t depend on it for long journeys of when you’re going to be upright and need it to stay in. For at-home play, it’s not a problem. If you’re going to go out-and-about, the larger one does seem to have better retention abilities out of the two.
For those looking to use this plug set in public, I’d say that another choice is probably better. Tantus has a lot of different other plugs that tend to retain more easily. Between the not-entirely-silent vibrations and the not-the-best retaining ability, these are fantastic for play at home but not-as-great for play while out-and-about.
As these plugs are made from non-porous silicone, all it requires is a bleach/water solution or a boiling bath in order to sterilize your toys. They’re very simple to take care of. For more standard cleaning, using warm water and anti-bacterial soap will clean everything up nicely. Because of the material, water-based lubricant will work best. As with many Tantus toys, the soft, pliable silicone material of these plugs will also attract hair, so it may be best to store them in a plastic bag or fabric bag to keep them clean.
Overall, if you are a beginner and want to play at home, this is a great kit to look at. The plugs insert nicely, the size is great for stimulation and to slide in without anal experience, and the material is safe. The entire kit is affordable, and it offers two different sizes (one as a super-beginner and the other as a beginner) to experiment with.
