The Prescription Pain paddle is a toy from the Topco Sales Asylum line and is sold by DallasNovelty. It’s an amusing paddle that definitely offers different features than the rest of the paddles that I own. The Prescription Pain is not made of leather, faux leather, or any type of fabric – instead, it seems to be made of rubber. This is a very firm rubber that keeps the paddle standing up really rigid. The paddle is completely white and has this odd clinical feel to it. The letters “RX” are printed in the middle of the paddle and are also a cut-out, so it can leave marks on the skin. Along with the rubber of the paddle, there’s a plain cotton white string that hangs from the hole at the end for hanging the paddle for storage.
The Asylum Prescription Pain Paddle doesn’t really come with any particular packaging. Instead, it does come with a little tag that hangs off of the hole at the end and can easily be cut off. The tag is a bit odd actually – even for me. Inside are pictures of a female patient being spanked by doctors inside of a paddle room. Definitely fetish-y. The backside is a “memo” from the doctor saying “Patient Only Responds to Pain”, “The Doctor Suggests a steady course of spanking”, “Leaves an ‘RX’ on skin to remind patient of their endless prescription pain”, “Refills Remaining: 969”. The entire tag is a little odd, but it gets the feel of the product across.
The paddle is very basic in design and handling. It’s actually heavier than some of the other paddles I own just because it’s made from rubber. It’s slightly flexible, but it’s nothing amazingly flexible. However, it is enough flex that this paddle is going to hurt when you hit someone with it. The handle is really easy to keep ahold of as long as your hands are lubricated – if your hands are lubricated, you’ll have a much harder time. This is heavier, but it’s still easy to wield. If anything, it only becomes a problem if the flexibility of the paddle causes your hand to get off balance. The handle isn’t amazingly comfortable, but it gets the handling done.
This paddle definitely has some sting to it. Since it’s made of a large chunk of rubber (1/4 inch thick), it gives quite a bit of heft and can land with quite a “thud” onto your victim. However, along with the thud, it’s also very flexible and has holes cut in it, so this lands with a sting as well – even with light use. This can certainly be used for lots of sting if used roughly, and while I could say that both beginners and advanced users could use this, it really depends on what you want out of the toy. If you want it to be just a kink toy that hits lightly, you have to use it lightly. If you want it to deliver a stinging sensation, you have to hit very roughly and with some force – this leaves a nice stingy sensation afterwards as well.
If you are a beginner, you can’t expect the Rx to show through during your strikes if you’re hitting lightly. For the Rx to show up, it has to be a very rough hit. The place you hit also has to have a lot of fat on it, so the only place this Rx is likely to show up is probably on the butt. Again, though, you are going to cause a lot of pain if you do hit roughly enough to make the Rx show up – it takes a lot of force. Because this paddle is so stingy, I’d only recommend using this one on the butt or lower thighs – no where else on the body. Believe me, it doesn’t take much for this paddle to go from “ouch” to “OUCH!”. Only a slight flick of the hand will change that entire feeling.
For cleaning, you can use warm water and antibacterial soap or just put it into a tub of warm water with soap and swish it around and clean it. For storage, we just hang it up on the back of a door. I’d recommend keeping this away from bodily fluids, blood, or lubricated since blood could stain it, bodily fluids probably won’t wash out of it, and lubricant will make it harder to hold.
The Asylum Prescription Pain Paddle is a good paddle as long as you are expecting pain out of your kinky experience. It’s not a good paddle for nice, soft taps, but if you have a medical fetish, are possibly a doctor or pharmacist and think the Rx thing is amusing, or if you want a paddle that’s made of a “different” material that swings with a sting, this paddle is for you. The adult store sells the Asylum Prescription Pain Paddle as well as other bondage, fetish, and kink items.
