The Ki-Wi Black Tie vibrator is a small, silicone clitoral vibrator sold by FunWares sex toys. It’s about five and a half inches long, and it is made from silicone (black) and ABS plastic (the chrome-looking portion). It’s supposed to be waterproof (though the instructions instruct not to submerge the vibrator) while it includes 10 different functions.
The packaging for the Ki-Wi Black Tie vibrator is my favorite part of this vibrator. It comes in this really cute and fancy packaging. The box has a little window that shows the Ki-Wi Black Tie vibrator in its packaging which is actually a little satin tray. The window is actually clear (with nothing actually on top of the vibrator), but when the case is turned upside down, the vibrator does not fall out. It’s actually really neat, and I thought it was cute. This case can be used to store the vibrator if you’d like, but it’s not the most protective of packaging, but it does look very cute and suit the Ki-Wi Black Tie vibrator very well.
This vibrator takes two AAA batteries. There are instructions that tell you how to insert the batteries, but it’s very simple to insert. You just have to untwist the base of the vibrator in order to insert the batteries into the vibrator itself. The base twists back on really easily to use the vibrator as well.
A neat aspect about the design is that the cap to the vibrator (with the tip) can go either way on the base. The slanted bottom (for comfort of resting your hand up against it) only really works one way, but you can use the vibrator either way depending on how you like your controls. Neither way solves the vibration problem talked about later in the review, though.
The vibrations are the biggest issue. The boyfriend and I disagree on this. I find that the vibrations can barely, barely be felt, but he says that the vibrations can be felt – they’re just a very, very high intensity that is very pinpoint. From my point of view, though, I really do find that the vibrator’s maybe a somewhat-strong soft vibration, though, and with any pressure applied, the vibration goes away. I do not think this vibrator would be enough to get most women to orgasm.
The biggest problem with this vibrator is exactly how the vibrations are supposed to travel. They are supposed to originate near the silver base of the vibrator and travel down the silicone tip to your (hopefully) waiting genitals. However, it doesn’t work this way. Sadly. Maybe 10% of the strength of the vibrations actually makes it to the tip of this silicone tip. The other 90% is going to work number your hand. This means that you either shove the base of the vibrator up against yourself to get good stimulation or you have a preference for feather-light vibrations. Sadly, the vibrations of this sex toy just don’t seem to be going where they’re supposed to.
That’s really the biggest problem with this vibrator. The controls are relatively easy to use, and if the vibrations transferred well, for those that enjoyed lighter touches, this would have worked fantastically. In fact, the designers even slanted the base of the Ki-Wi (where you can see how its standing up) as that’s where your hand would rest comfortably against it during use. However, because of how the vibrations travel, the Black Tie Ki-Wi vibrator just isn’t going to work well for most women. It just has this really, really buzzy vibration that feels very itchy in its small vibrations.
To clean this vibrator, you’ll want to use warm water and antibacterial soap. As the Ki-Wi Black Tie vibrator MAY be waterproof. The packaging says it is, but the instructions clearly state, in large letters, not to submerge. It’s only compatible with water-based lubricant, and the silicone doesn’t really pick up much lint or hair, but I still recommend keeping it in a storage bag if possible. Because of the odd shape of the Ki-Wi Black Tie vibrator, you’ll probably want to put it in a glove if you’re trying to cover it.
Overall, the Ki-Wi Black Tie vibrator is certainly not for everyone because of how the vibrations work. While it would be amazing if the vibrations actually traveled to the tip like they’re supposed to, they don’t seem to travel as well as they could. This means that, unless you enjoy a feather-light touch or intend on using the base of the vibrator up against your body, the Ki-Wi vibrator may not be at all what you were hoping for.
