The Spareparts Hardwear La Palma is the first hand dildo harness made by Spareparts Hardwear and sold by FunWares sex toys. The Spareparts Hardwear harness comes in a right-hand and left-hand version, and it can be used with any dildo with a flared base. It also comes in a small/medium version and a large/extra-large version to fit the hand-size best. It features a slightly-stretchy o-ring that allows for a wide variety of dildo circumferences (with around 2 inches being the maximum size) as well as two pockets to fit small bullet-sized vibrators in the pockets. The La Palma harness is made from nylon, neoprene, and velcro, and it’s waterproof and very easy to take care of.
The Spareparts Hardwear La Palma dildo hand harness comes with quite a few items. It comes in a beautifully-done box that easily displays the different sizing and purchasing options right on the box for easy in-store purchasing (if you were purchasing that way). The packaging is very sleek and sexy looking. Inside the packaging, you will find a zip-up storage bag that holds all of your La Palma items together in a small, pocket-sized storage bag. The La Palma comes with the harness itself, two bullet vibrators (with batteries included) and three Ring grip attachments to stabilize your dildos.
The La Palma dildo hand harness does come in different sizes which is something to keep in mind when purchasing. Because of the snug fit required to make sure the dildo will be stable on your hand, the La Palma comes in different sizes which helps keep the La Palma usable and tight. These measurements can be a bit confusing, but it isn’t too hard to understand. For the Palm measurements, which are done horizontally, you’ll want to measure up near the top of your palm from pinky to pointer finger for the first measurement and the bottom of your palm from the very base of the thumb (near the wrist) to the opposite side for the second measurement. For the Thumb measurements, these are done vertically. The first measurement will be from the base of the pointer finger to the base of the thumb and the second measurement will be from the base of the middle of your middle two fingers to the base of your wrist (in the middle of your wrist).
All measurements are in inches. For the most part, as I wear a regular Large medical glove, I wear the M/L size in gloves. Males with masculine and large hands will probably wear the XL size.
XS/S:
Palm: 2.5 – 3.25
Thumb: 1.75 – 2.25
M/L:
Palm: 3.25 – 4.0
Thumb: 2.25 – 2.75
XL:
Palm: 4.0 – 5.0
Thumb: 2.75 – 3.25
Something to note is that the Spareparts La Palma harness will not fit the opposite hand. If you get the right-handed version of the harness, it must stay on your right-hand. This is slightly annoying if you, like me, are relatively ambidextorous when it comes to sexual matters, but it’s something to keep in mind.
Putting on the glove is pretty simple. There are many features of the La Palma dildo hand harness that make it as stable as possible, but they also still continue to allow it to be easy to put on. You pretty much just have to unvelcro the backside of the hand harness and slide your hand into the harness. Your two middle fingers go inside the finger holder on top while your thumb will slide into the open hole on the side. From there, you can easily velcro the back of the harness back up, and you can also do the buttons on the hand harness too if you need extra stability.
The dildo hand harness is also very comfortable. It’s honestly just about as comfortable as wearing a regular glove. It doesn’t pinch any of my skin, and it, amazingly, also does a great job of supporting the dildo and keeping it upright as well. It really is an extremely comfortable glove, and I’d be comfortable wearing this for hours at a time.
Putting in a dildo is extremely easy as well. Spareparts designed the glove so that you don’t have to take off the glove in order to put a dildo into the harness. There’s just a special panel that can be unvelcro’d in order to slide a dildo into the hole that’s on the dildo hand harness. From there, the velcro can be reapplied. The hole for the harness does stretch out, but it’ll be easiest to get dildos of a diameter of about 1.5 inches into the harness. It does stretch out larger, but standard-sized dildos tend to fit best and with the least amount of push.
The La Palma harness will hold a variety of sized dildos; it pretty much just requires a flared base, but it can even be a very small flared base as well. For those dildos that are very small diameter or those that have a flared base, that’s exactly what the Ringo rings are for. Those rings, with three of them included, can be slipped around the dildo in order to help give it a wider, flared base as well as provide more stability for the dildo. If you find that your dildo is wobbly or almost coming out of the harness, sliding on a Ringo ring or two will make a huge difference.
When using this harness, it does take a bit of extra muscle; it’s odd how much laying your palm flat will change what muscles you use versus having your palm curled around a dildo. However, it does leave your fingers free to explore. From personal experimentation, I’ve found that from-behind with solo use tends to work best. When using it from-behind, the fingers are pointed towards the genitals instead of towards the anal area. However, if you like to stimulate the perineum, the La Palma harness is quite easy to use while sitting up and using it from the front as well.
Where the La Palma really seems to shine, for me, is partnered use. You can easily stimulate your partner with your fingers while using the dildo to thrust in and out. You also don’t really have to “thrust” with it on your hand; you can do small pulses that just push on the base. In particular, I’ve found this to be shiningly-amazing with my male partner. He loves anal play, and he loves his perineum to be touched. When coming at him from-behind and from-above, I can have the dildo attached to my hand while still having my fingers free to stimulate the perineum AND still have a free hand to touch his penis if I’d like. That’s where the magic of the La Palma really seems to shine; especially as I don’t have to worry about my hands getting all slippery with the lubricant as well.
With partnered use, versus solo use, you also have a lot more angles to choose from as it’s much easier to situate yourself around another person versus having to just touch yourself. I definitely think that the La Palma shines best with partnered use, and we’ve found quite a few uses for it; plus, it’s amazing that the vibrations can be added to the base of the dildo without me having to hold a vibrator against the base. Before, it was one hand to thrust the dildo in and out while having another hand hold a vibrator against the base of the dildo. Now, I have the vibrations and the dildo purely in one palm – leaving that hand’s fingers AND another free hand for use. I sincerely love it!
The La Palma hand harness is really easy to clean too. Unlike the Spareparts hip harnesses which can be washed in the washing machine, the Spareparts La Palma does need to be handwashed with mild soap and water. As there aren’t any moving or electric parts, though, it’s very easy to wash. The instructions then say to leave it out somewhere with a breeze to allow the material of the La Palma to dry.
Overall, while I don’t think that everyone is going to appreciate the hand dildo harness, I do think that some people will definitely find an appreciation for it. The harness makes it very easy to hold and handle a dildo with or without vibrations, and it’s very, very comfortable to use. It does work different muscles while thrusting than those used while actually holding the dildo, but it definitely frees up the hands for pleasure elsewhere nearby the place of insertion.
