Avant Pride P1 Freedom Dildo Review

Beautifully poured in its rainbow silicone, the Avant Pride P1 Freedom dildo is a slender g-spot and p-spot dildo crafted by Blush Novelties and sold by SheVibe. 6″ in total length with the thickest width of 1.4″ (near the base), this little dildo is phthalate-free and strap-on harness compatible. Since it doesn’t vibrate or have any moving parts, it’s also entirely waterproof. The base is equipped with a concave design for a built-in suction cup. The base does not include a hole for bullet hole use. This rainbow pride dildo also comes with a 5-year warranty.

The packaging for the Avant Pride dildo is pretty nice-looking. The dildo itself comes in a plastic tray that’s held within a rainbow gradient box. The top half of the box has a see-through lid that lifts off and exposes the toy. Voila! New dildo! It’s very clean-cut and pretty-looking, and I think it helps the appearance of the dildo. The packaging gives basic care and feature instructions, but there are no further accessories or instruction manuals included in the box.

As you can tell from the photos, the Blush Avant Pride P1 Freedom dildo is made with some pretty gorgeous rainbow colors. These colors are just as bright and vibrant when you receive the toy as they look online. It’s not a toy that “hides’ in the toy box. You want pretty and bright? That’s what this pride dildo is going for.

The silicone itself is pretty darn nice too. It’s that nice, soft, silky silicone that I’m in love with. It’s the soft, hands-glide-across-it silicone that most luxury brands use. It’s very, very silky smooth, and even without lubricant, your hands will just glide along the material. Along with that, the silicone is extremely flexible. Blush Novelties didn’t choose to give this rainbow dildo any type of rigid core, so it pretty much flexes around all over the place. The toy stands straight-up on its base without any issue, but with any pressure, the toy bends – very easily. The toy will bend in half, tip to base, without all that much pressure at all. Depending on what you’re using the toy for (anal, vaginal, oral, packing, etc.), you may enjoy the flexibility. Or it might be annoying. It’s just something to keep in mind.

While the dildo is gorgeous and I love the look of it, I definitely have to admit that it isn’t much of a “size queen” dildo. In fact, the dildo looks almost diminutive when compared to most “average” dildos out there. It’s noticeably smaller in size than an “average” biological male penis – especially in width. It can hard to see that when looking purely at measurements or pictures, so that’s why I’m mentioning it. It definitely is much *smaller* seeming than it seems in pictures. Make sure you do a thorough understanding of the measurements before you order.

That being said, it still works exactly how it’s supposed to. It slides into holes pretty nicely. The silicone material doesn’t “absorb” too much lubricant, so lube reapplications aren’t too often necessary. Since the toy doesn’t tend to stretch (us, at least!) too much, it also doesn’t seem to require vast amounts of lube that way either.

Now, about the g-spot capabilities: that’s where this little dildo could use a bit of help. It has this lovely curve that mimics the renowned and well-loved curve of the LELO Ella. I expected to fall in love. However, the LELO Ella is entirely rigid – and the Avant Pride P1? Not so much. That means that, if you have a very sensitive or very shallow g-spot or p-spot, this rainbow dildo might do a good job of hitting it. If you’re like me, however, and have a pretty deep g-spot that likes intense pressure, this one just isn’t it. The toy “bends” long before it actually applies any sort of substantial pressure. I can feel it *almost* being there, but the dildo is just so flexible and non-rigid that it never really gets to apply any good pressure to the g-spot.

So what do we use it for? Mostly two things: oral sex practice and “hard” packing. The suction cup on this dildo is beyond amazing. For that reason, it’s particularly fun to stick up on a wall, have a partner kneel, and of course, go to town. The smaller length and squishiness actually help in that instance! In addition, as described below, I also enjoy using it as a packing dildo for a not-as-satisfying pegging experience – but one can happen on-the-go while I’ve been wearing the dildo throughout the day.

So, let me tell you a story: I went into a sex toy store awhile ago, and I ended up drawn to this toy sitting on the corner, precariously perched on a glass shelf in one of the corners. I love rainbow colors, after all. Unfortunately, when I went to pick up this dildo, it apparently has the suction cup of the god’s themselves because it lifted the entire glass shelf off the fixture and tossed all of the other dildos all over the ground. So, aside from being ridiculously embarrassing, it was a learning experience. (And the employees said it happens often.)

Moral of the story? The built-in suction cup on this thing is NOT to be messed with. It’s seriously strong. It’s not going to move an inch when on a flat surface on the ground. At all. And it takes a bit of picking at to get it to get off the surface. It’s still got some pretty amazing performance on the wall too. It’s not perfect when on a wall, but it’s actually pretty workable. It’s not necessarily going to stay during your entire sex session if you’re trying to hump it on a wall, but it’ll only require a couple repositionings, and it stays perfectly just for oral purposes. (Which is how we almost exclusively use it in our house because of the size).

Normally I laugh at “built-in suction cup” dildos, but this one is actually insane. Probably in part to the very small design and lightness of the toy, but this one sticks – and freakishly so. I am fully confident in its abilities on any flat surface – which is not a compliment I’ve given to any other toy.

Another benefit of the base? It’s just as soft and flexible as the shaft of this dildo. Why’s that important? Partnered with the very flexible silicone of the dildo and its small size, this is actually a relatively decent choice if you want to pack hard. Sure, it isn’t realistic, but if you’re looking for a dildo that can pack hard without being too noticeable, the Avant Pride dildo works decently well. Because the base is so soft and flexible, when you’re tucking the dildo up into something for more discretion, it doesn’t leave a thick base pressing into your body – which I can tell you, from experience, can cause bruising with other dildos. It’s actually one of the most comfortable strap-on dildos I’ve worn. Again, with another reason that I wish Blush made the Avant line in larger dildo sizes.

Cleaning a waterproof silicone dildo is a piece of cake – especially when it’s untextured like the Avant Pride P1 dildo. You just use warm water and anti-bacterial soap to wipe down the dildo. Sterilization can happen with a water/bleach mixture or boiling the dildo in water. Either way, with the Avant Pride P1’s lack of texture or any tight creases, it’s a pretty damn easy dildo to clean. As the toy is silicone, though, you need to be careful with lubricant. This toy is only compatible with water-based lubricant. Silicone-based may damage the silicone material of the toy. For storage, the original box works great, but you can pretty much store it anywhere (not in direct sunlight and squashing the toy). Just be aware that the dildo tends to attract hair and lint (a bit – not overly so), so you’ll want to be careful with storage methods or give the toy a quick rinse before playtimes.

Overall, I just wish the Avant Pride P1 Freedom Silicone dildo was just bit bigger. It’s not a bad toy at its current size – by any means. But between the flexibility that leaves it moving away from the g-spot really easily and its non-assuming size, it can be hard to really get that good g-spot pressure out of it. That being said, it has this most-amazing suction cup base, and it’s amazing to look at. It’s comfortable to strap-on with the squishy base. It works really well for oral practice or fun because of the smaller size. And it feels absolutely amazing with the silicone they chose. I definitely recommend the Avant Pride P1 Silicone Dildo – but only if you know exactly what you’d like to do with its smaller size and flexible body. Thanks to SheVibe for providing this rainbow silicone dildo for my Avant Pride P1 Freedom Silicone Dildo review.
