If you’re looking for a wand massager that’s going to offer the strong vibrations without worrying about the long cord attached to the wall, the Lust Silicone Wand is an option for you. Rechargeable and made from silicone, this massager is 7.75″ in length and offers multiple speeds and patterns. Much smaller in size than most wand massagers, this massager is entirely rechargeable – which means you don’t have to worry about being connected to a wall outlet when you want to use it.
The Lust Silicone Wand comes in some pretty standard packaging; the vibrator will be contained in a sturdy cardboard box. The outside of the box isn’t discreet, but it does provide a lot of information about the wand. It’s a nicely-squared box that will be pretty easy to wrap with gift wrap if giving the vibrator as a gift. The box also includes a drawstring storage bag and the charging cable.
The first thing you’ll notice about this pink wand massager is the design. I’m actually really fond of this design. For one, the pink silicone portion is all one large piece of silicone. This means you don’t have to worry about cracks or crevices; it’s just one simply-smooth piece to clean. Along with that, the handle of the vibrator offers a lattice-like design that’s very surface-depth – but it also offers a bit of texture that makes it easier to hold the vibrator. The entire handle is very rigid, and for the most part, this vibrator is light-weight and relatively easy to handle compared to other bulkier wand massagers. It has a slight feminine/soft look to it, and I just generally like how it looks.
One of the headlining features of the Lust Silicone Wand is its rechargeability. This vibrator features a plug at the base of the massager that’s plugged into the charging cable that comes with the toy. The cable is a USB-charging cable, but it also comes with a wall adapter (much like cell-phone USB cables). The backlit buttons will glow red while the wand massager is charging, and it goes out when the massager is done charging. I haven’t specifically measured how long it takes to charge, but I know it was done within 2 hours. It has also lasted 5+ play sessions on that single charge, so it seems to have a decent battery life on it. The charging cable inserts really easily into the charging socket, and it was never a fight to get things charged. (As a note, the included storage bag is not quite large enough to hold both the massager AND the massager’s required charging cable. That’s slightly frustrating)
The controls for this pink wand massager tend towards the simplistic side. There’s a power button, an intensity button, and a patterns button. Each one of these three buttons is very easy to press and covered in the same smooth layer of silicone that the rest of the wand is. In what is probably the neatest control design ever, the “intensity” button actually doesn’t reset from the beginning once you reach the end of the vibration intensities. It actually steps back DOWN. Then back up when it reaches the bottom. For example, let’s say the vibration intensities are numbered. With that in mind, when you press the button, the intensity will go from: 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 6 5 4 3 2 1. You get the idea. This is a wonderful idea for those people who accidentally want a bit more power at the highest setting, and attempt to get it, and end up getting the lowest setting instead as the vibrator doesn’t have any other further levels to offer.
As another note about the control structure, the Lust Silicone Wand also is backlit by a red light underneath the buttons when the vibrator is on. When on steady vibration patterns, the lights just stay lit. Making it easy to control as a partner however, when using the patterns, the red light will blink to match the pattern that the vibrator is currently turned on to. If you’re using this wand to pleasure someone else, this gives you a fantastic idea of what setting you’re currently on.
Like every wand massager, what’s important is the power of the vibrations. Most people purchase wand massagers to enjoy the powerful vibrations, and the Lust Silicone Wand is no different. While it doesn’t quite rival the strength of the Hitachi Magic Wand, it certainly isn’t weak. I’d say that you’re looking at 60% of the strength that the Hitachi can provide. As the Hitachi can be TOO powerful for some people, I’d say that this strength level may be exactly what some people need.
The vibrations are still nice and deep and rumbly, and they are entirely focused on the head of the toy. When using the wand, the handle doesn’t make the hands feel numb – the vibrations seem to be primarily felt in the head of the wand. When it comes to the noise level, expect that it could easily be heard outside of a closed door in a quiet home. Watching TV or playing some music will help mask the sound, but it isn’t entirely quiet. It is, however, much quieter than the Hitachi, so if discretion was an issue, this one will be a better choice.
The Lust Silicone Wand also offers a flexible head. However, the head isn’t “too” flexible. It takes quite a bit of force to make the head of the vibrator move, and when it does, the vibrations maintain their current intensity. This is a complaint I have with a lot of wand massagers: when the head of the vibrator gets bent, the vibrations suffer. That’s not the case with this wand.
As a sidenote, I’m not particularly fond of the company’s name. I hate the idea of vibrators and other sex toys being “Battery Operated Boyfriends”. You can use vibes inside of healthy relationships and alongside your partner – not just as a “replacement” for a boyfriend.
As the vibrator is NOT waterproof, you’ll want to take particular care when washing your sex toy. The DC port for charging the vibrator is located at the base of the vibe, so when cleaning, take special care to avoid getting any water near that port. Using warm water and anti-bacterial soap should clean up the vibrator pretty easily, though. You’ll want to take special care near the head of the toy. If you plan on using lubricant with this one, make sure to choose some water-based lube. When it comes to storage, the toy isn’t particularly picky, so you can store it however you please – just make sure not to lose the charging cable that comes with the vibe!
Overall, if you’re looking for a cord-free alternative to the Hitachi Magic Wand that still offers quite a bit of power to hit your orgasm, the Lust Rechargeable Body Wand may be a good choice. It has a gorgeous, body-safe design that’s easy to clean, is quieter than the Hitachi, and is entirely rechargeable. While it doesn’t offer quite the same intensity of vibrations, the user-friendly controls, the freedom to use it wherever, and the intensity adjustment makes it a great choice for a lot of people. Unless you require every ounce of power that the Hitachi Magic Wand can provide, I’d say that this is a great choice. Thanks to Pink B.O.B. for providing this rechargeable wand massager for my Lust Silicone Wand review.
