The Crystal Delights Pleasure Paddle comes beautifully packaged. It comes in a cute pouch. This pouch is padded, and it stays shut via two tie-strings that are located on the pouch. The two strings are tied together to keep this toy bundled shut. It works well for storage, and the padding does a good job of protecting the toy. It does take a bit to tie the strings, though, so keep that in mind. The pouch is definitely suitable for gift-giving, and it makes the paddle look fantastic.
To be honest, I was insanely afraid that this paddle would break. I mean – c’mon, who uses glass as a heavy impact toy? I am eating my words, though, because I am really, really impressed by how hardy it is. I put it through the tests; I hit it extremely, extremely hard, and I went up to both my and my partner’s pain tolerance on our bodies. It doesn’t even show any sign of breaking. We’ve broken other, less-firm paddles with this intensity, so I’m really, really impressed. Might it break if you hit a bone or a hard object (such as my desk)? Possibly. But if you are using it on a person (and using it SAFELY), you will reach the person’s pain tolerance level long before you ever begin to harm the glass of the paddle.
Glass is interesting as a paddle material. With leather and other materials, the paddle usually has at least a little bit of give to it. With glass, there is absolutely, completely-zero amounts of give to it. Because this glass paddle has a thick portion of glass with a good heft to it, the intensity is even stronger. This makes it much different than leather which usually has some sort of pliability to it or plastic, which usually isn’t very light-weight.
The design of the Crystal Delights Pleasure Paddle is beautiful too! It’s obvious that all of the features were designed with beauty AND quality in mind. The paddle portion itself is clear (to let you see the skin underneath which is something no other paddle material can do), but it’s also very thick so the paddle will not break. The handle itself is beautiful, and the swirls on the handle are pronounced from the shaft which helps provide some stable gripping points for using the paddle. These swirls around the shaft also are downright beautiful, and you’ll easily be able to see the color and depth shine through. At the base of the paddle’s handle, there is a bulge that allows for a beautiful, shiny crystal to be placed as well as the bulge can help your hand from slipping off of the paddle during use. Win-win! Again, the creators of the Crystal Pleasure Paddle definitely paid attention to quality and beauty, and it definitely shows.
Glass is slippery. This is something that you’ll want to account for with your paddle. Crystal Delights attempted to design the paddle to help deal with that, but glass will always be glass, and you don’t want this to slide out of your hand. Whether you played with someone sexually before using it or just get nervous/sweaty palms, make sure to grasp the Crystal Delights Pleasure Paddle with a dry palm to avoid it falling out of your grasp.
The paddle may not be as long, in the paddling portion of the paddle, as some of the other paddles you own, At that end, you only get about five/six inches of paddling room. This is enough to cover one butt cheek – if you’re skinny. If not, it might just cover 1/2 of one. As the handle goes all the way up to the portion of the flattened paddle as well, you’ll probably only end up using part of the tip of the paddle, so again, it reduces some of the area that you get with the paddle. Do not expect this paddle to cover the entire butt; if it did, it would certainly be much more expensive and would certainly not be nearly as sturdy as it currently is. Instead, expect it to do a good job of covering the areas that it does cover – which will be about one side of the butt. It does a very good job of being fixated on one area, so if your partner tends to enjoy being spanked most on that area where their butt meets their thigh, you can target it very simply with this glass spanking paddle.
You might think that the paddle, because it’s glass, was intended to be an insertable paddle as well. It actually was not. For cleaning, you can just use warm water and antibacterial soap on it to fully clean it. Because it’s so long, you really won’t be able to dip it in water for boiling (nor is it recommended because of the crystal at the end of the handle).
