UPDATE August 2022: The Icon Brands Je T’aime Sept vibrator is no longer in production! This sex toy review remains as a reference for those who are interested in this dildo. While you’re here, why not check out my BDSM advice, femdom advice, and BDSM scene outlines?

The Icon Brands je t’aime Sept vibrator is a plastic, traditional vibrator. It has five different patterns, and it is 100% body-safe as well as waterproof. It runs on two AA batteries, and it can be purchased in both a rose color as well as a silver color. I have the rose colored one.

The packaging for this vibrator is pretty cute. The packaging is a basic cardboard box with a see-through plastic lid on top. The vibrator itself comes in a plastic tray that sits inside of the box, and the outside of the box is designed in little Fleur De Lis-type clipart. As the top of the box doesn’t really “fasten” to the bottom half of the box, the box doesn’t work too well for long-term storage. The box is also much larger than the vibrator itself, so it takes up more room than the vibrator would, but it is very cute and special-looking for gift-giving.

This vibrator’s design is very streamlined and very basic. It is a plastic vibrator with a box-like base on the bottom of it. The plastic is the je t’aime Silken Touch plastic, so it’s a very soft and silky smooth plastic that glides really nicely against the skin. There really aren’t any obvious seams running along the body of the vibrator, and the base of the toy includes a button on one of the pink sides with the name of the company (Icon) on the opposing side. The base itself sticks out all ways around the sides of the vibrator which may be annoying or it may make it easier for you to grip. For us, it made the vibrator easier to hold on to.

The Sept vibrator runs on two AA batteries. The base of the vibrator unscrews which will allow you to easily slide the new batteries into your sex toy. Unlike some sex toys, which have a piece of paper inside that is intended to stay inside the vibrator to muffle vibrations, it appears that the piece of paper was intended to be removed as the two batteries will not slide in if the piece of paper is in the chamber. It took me awhile to figure that out. Once you remove the piece of paper, the batteries slide in really nicely, and you just need to screw back on the battery compartment cap.

The vibrations for the Sept vibrator are on the higher end of moderate, but they aren’t the strongest out there. They are focused towards the tip of the vibrator which makes them feel stronger, and they do a pretty good job of vibrating the full length of the vibrator’s shaft. They can be heard easily in the same room, but they probably will not be able to be heard through a closed door.

It actually is a bit odd – how the Je T’aime company chose to arrange the vibrations. There are five speeds – the first three of them will be patterns and the last two are two steady vibration speeds that feel very similar. You do have to scroll through the three patterns if you want to use the non-pattern, steady vibration modes, though which is a bit weird.

For the most part, it seems like the Sept vibrator was intended to be a clitoral vibrator. Sure, it has the length to be an inserted vibrator if you want, but the hard, forgiving plastic of the shaft may not be a pleasurable insertion for some people. In a pinch, though, it definitely can work for insertion, and the base of the toy makes it really easy to get a good grip on the vibrator for thrusting as well. For our usage, though, it was really only used as an external vibrator, and that’s probably how it will continue to be used as well.

To clean this vibrator, you’ll want to use warm water and anti-bacterial soap. It is waterproof, but as we’ve found the seal to be a bit finicky at times, we haven’t been submerging it in water while cleaning it just to be safe. It’s compatible with all types of lubricant, and as it’s plastic, it can be stored whereever you’d like.

Overall, the Je T’Aime Sept vibrator is an okay vibrator, but it doesn’t blow my socks off. It does a good job of vibrating and is well-constructed for the price, but don’t expect it to go above and beyond what you may be expecting. It is cute, though, and it does work okay.
