Tantus Echo Dildo Review

Tantus Echo Dildo
The sex toy in the box

The Tantus Echo is a silicone dildo made by Tantus. The dildo is about six inches long with a diameter of about an inch and a half at the head. It is harness-compatible, and it is made from body-safe silicone. The sex toy also includes a hole at the base of the dildo where the included vibrating bullet can be inserted. The bullet is a one-speed bullet.

The packaging for the Tantus Echo resembles all other Tantus packaging. It comes in a large, clear plastic box that clearly displays the toy and the included bullet. The silicone dildo and the toy sit inside a clear tray. You can keep the packaging for storage of the dildo, but the packaging is larger than the dildo, so you may want to pick a different way to store the toy. The packaging explains how to care for the toy as well as talks about Tantus.

The Echo is one of the most textured dildos that I own. Throughout the entire shaft of the dildo, there are very obvious ridges. The only “smooth” part about the Echo is the underside of the dildo where it’s very smooth. The rest of the sex toy includes those ridges. Those ridges can certainly be pleasurable, but you do want to make sure that you’re warmed-up beforehand and that you are feeling the urge to want to take some texture because this dildo can be very intense. Aside from the ridges, there is no other texture on the dildo, but the ridges can certainly feel like enough texture just on their own.

The base of the Echo has a bullet hole

The Echo also comes with a vibrating bullet. As you can see in the pictures, the base of the Echo has a hole in it and no suction cup. The bullet that comes with this Tantus dildo is a one-speed, regular-sized bullet. The hole in the base of the Echo is an average hole, so you can stick any average-sized bullet inside of it if you don’t like the included bullet. The included bullet does have to be wiggled to get it into the dildo’s bullet hole, but for all purposes, I do recommend making sure to add a dab of lubricant to the hole before you slide the bullet in. This is because, if you do not, the bullet could actually get stuck in the base of this Tantus dildo. We’ve had some issue in the past with some of ours getting stuck, so just for safety’s (and sanity’s) sake, make sure to put a dab of lubricant into the hole before sticking the bullet in.

So how well does it vibrate? The single-speed on the included bullet is not very strong, and it’s on the lower end of moderate vibrations. That is when the bullet vibrator is just used by itself. However, when inserted into the Tantus Echo, it does get much weaker. The majority of the sensation from the bullet actually goes into the base of the toy, so if you enjoy inserting your dildos all the way to the base, you could certainly get some sensation. Also, if you were using this dildo for harness use (like we do), you definitely get some slight sensation that way as the bullet is closest to the wearer. However, by the time the vibrations hit the tip of the dildo, there are virtually no vibrations, so if you were hoping for vibrations in the tip of this sex toy, this dildo will probably not be the most satisfying for you.

The ridges on the dildo

During use, the Tantus Echo works alright for vaginal use. It is definitely intense. Make sure you are properly warmed-up and have really lubricated the toy before you try it. As the head is about the average size of a penis (if not a bit larger) and it’s made of silicone, the toy doesn’t insert quite as smoothly as a penis would, but it will insert comfortably as long as you’re warmed up. Depending on your regular type of toy, this sex toy can definitely be filling, and it does produce any interesting, pleasurable sensation when inserting the toy because of the ridges. It’s almost like anal beads for your vagina – just less “obvious” and better suited for a vagina. The head is the largest part of the dildo, though, so while it may feel really huge at first, remember that the toy does get smaller in diameter towards the base.

I wouldn’t recommend this dildo much for anal use. For one, the ridges are very intense, and depending upon how you like your anal sex, this one may be too much in the “bumpy” department to really be very pleasurable during use. For another, the widest part of this dildo is actually the head of the dildo while the smallest part appears to be the base of the dildo. This means that you will have to go through the largest portion to work “down” to the smallest point. This is usually backwards from what most anal sex toys provide, but if you like that sensation, it could work for you. For us, though, this will be a vaginal-only toy because of the intensity and the interesting, large-head design.

The Echo can also be used in a harness as well, but the base is a bit small. It can certainly fit into most average harnesses, but be aware that, if your O-ring is a bit too big for the size of the dildo, you may find that the dildo is slightly more flexible and looser that you had originally intended. For most harness use, though, the base will be more than enough, and you should have no issue with the dildo during harness use. It is long enough to work for harness use, but you will want to keep the intense texture in mind for your partner. Otherwise, as long as you have a harness o-ring large enough for this dildo, you should have no issue using it.

Cleaning the Echo is extremely simple. You just have to use warm water and antibacterial soap for regular cleaning. This will get all of the regular ickies off of it. If you want to sterilize it once in awhile or for multiple person use, it can be sterilized by placing it in boiling water. As this toy is made from silicone, it is only compatible with water-based lubricants. For best storage, I recommend keeping it away from hair and other fuzzies because this silicone does tend to pick up that hair. It’d be best to keep it away from fabric, and if you wanted, you could keep it in the original storage box.

Overall, the Tantus Echo is a good-quality dildo, but I wouldn’t say that it’s amazing. The texture can definitely be very intense, and if you like intense textures, you’re going to love it. I just find that the diameter and head are a bit large for best enjoyment of the texture, and I wish the vibrations carried through the dildo more. However, it is a really unique-looking dildo, and if you really enjoy the feeling of ripples on your sex toys, this could definitely be a pleasurable experience for you.
