Spareparts Joque Harness Review

UPDATE MAY 2020: It’s over ten years later, AND IM STILL USING THE SAME GOD-DAMN HARNESS – this Spareparts Joque. It definitely looks more ragged than it does in these pictures, but it’s still my favorite and most-reliable harness. It goes through the wash at least 4-8 times a month, and I’m still using it. When I lost weight, I bought a size A and used that for awhile, but I’m back into size B. The point being: I love this harness, and I recommend it religiously. I can’t tell you how many femdoms have bought it on my recommendation and thanked me later. It’s god’s gift to strap-ons.

I’ve been around and around attempting to find a good harness that fits a plus-size girl, and you know what? It’s near impossible. However, I’d heard so many amazing things about the Spareparts Joque Harness that I actually had to go out and buy it. I can also say I don’t think I’ll ever end up regretting the decision. (Aside from the fiance’s whining about always wanting it now.)

The Spareparts Joque Strap-On Harness comes in two sizes A and B. It also comes in pink, black, or blue. However, I chose to get a size B and a black harness. I personally waited for the size B since I wanted it to be comfortable on me and didn’t want to take my chance on something smaller. The Joque is made out of Spandex and Polyester and fits like a glove. There’s a wide belt-sized piece that goes around your waist, and the strap-on piece and the two straps attach to it. The straps go around your lower butt to keep the strap-on in place. The belt-sized piece is amazingly flexible as well. The logo “Spareparts” is plastered on the front on a piece of white material. Slightly distracting, but nothing to write home about.

The cute storage bag.

The harness comes with a cute little drawstring bag. I’ve taken it out and placed the harness back in, and it’s pretty easy to get the harness to go back into the bag. It makes it nice to store the bag, and it looks like it will probably protect the harness in case something in spilled or just from dust.

This harness adjusts to your size in a couple ways. First off, the pieces that go around your legs and butt have little sliding adjustments (just like a bra). I recommend sliding those to what you think will work before you put on the harness – it’s just easier that way. The belt-sized waist piece also adjusts with velcro. The entire back of the belt has velcro on it, and the two sides have the opposite-velcro on it. You just pull each side until it’s comfortable and velcro it on. I’ve never had any problem with the velcro letting go.

The size B is supposed to accommodate sizes between 35″ and 65″ inches. I’m not sure what those numbers are supposed to correspond to, but I’m 280 pounds with a 44″ waist and 54″ hips, and it fits me perfectly. In fact, there’s actually a lot of extra room, so this could go up and fit people of many different sizes. The belt itself sits perfectly along my lower stomach and the straps aren’t too tight around my thighs either. (Which is a miracle in itself since my thighs are pretty big.) This leads me to think you could probably weigh up to around 350-400 pounds, and this harness would probably fit you quite comfortably.

This shot from the inside of the harness. You can see the fabric that will keep the dildo from touching you if you please.

The harness itself can fit any dildos up to 2” in diameter. All of my dildos have fit in it perfectly. There’s fabric on the backend of the harness spot that keeps the dildo from touching up against your skin, so you just spread the fabric apart and slide the dildo into the harness hole. Putting in a dildo is possible to do while you’re wearing the harness, but for the sake of keeping away from frustration, I recommend you do it beforehand. You also, because the fabric will move to the side, could use a double-dildo to pleasure both you and your partner at the same time. The little pouch that is included on this harness also allows you to slide in a bullet or other mini-vibe to allow the wearer some pleasure as well.

The design of this harness allows the wearer to experience vaginal penetration if that’s something that is desired. Because the straps loop around the sides of the thighs, it doesn’t cover up the vagina nor the anus, so you can play with multiple forms of penetration while in this harness.

I also found it amazing that, if the harness is sized correctly and you’ve made adjustments to make it fit your body, this harness won’t droop or anything during use. Your dildo will stay exactly where it’s supposed to. During use, there’s nothing “rough” or “hard” about this harness that will cut into your skin. It truly is like you’re not wearing this harness at all.

The straps for the back of the harness. You can see the Velcro and the two adjustable sides.

It also claims to be waterproof. I found that claim to be true. We didn’t actually try it out in the shower, but I did run it under some water, and it was quite happy about it. I found no problem with it at all in the water. However, if you are taking advantage of the ability to use mini-vibrators with this strap-on harness, I recommend that you make sure your mini-vibrator is water-proof as well or you may spoil some of your fun.

So far, I’ve been describing strap-on play since that’s what I use this for. However, because it clings so nicely to your body and doesn’t have huge buckles or anything, this would actually be an amazing harness for packing as well. You can (and I tried it) easily wear this under clothes without anyone knowing you’re wearing this harness. In fact, after wearing it for a couple hours, I found no pain in it at all. I actually forgot I was wearing it, and it didn’t cut into my skin like most pieces of clothing do.

This strap-on harness is not difficult to clean at all. Spareparts says it’s machine or hand-washable. If you wanted to wash this in the machine, I’d probably make sure to put this in a lingerie bag. Otherwise, if you’re afraid of harming it, warm water and some antibacterial soap would probably work wonders. I wouldn’t boil it, though, and if you put it in the washing machine, a “warm” or “cold” setting should work best. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend sharing it just in the case of stretching out. If a person bigger than you uses it, it may stretch out. You’d also have to readjust your settings every time you wanted to use it. However, those are minor concerns.

Overall, this harness is amazing. I’ve found no reason to even think about owning another harness after this one. It’s beautiful, it’s amazing, and it fits like a dream. (This fits better than half of my clothing.)
