The packaging and the storage tray for the Ami

The JeJoue Ami is a set of three vaginal exercisers in varying shapes and sizes to work you from beginner to advanced with this one set. The vaginal exercisers come in purple, and they are made from silicone and a small bit of plastic. This type of silicone is amazingly soft and velvety and feels slick when you run your fingers over it. The colors and the size match the EF “Real Size Widget” just fine.

The JeJoue Ami has gorgeous packaging just like the rest of the JeJoue products. The outer box is a plain purple box that shows off a couple of the product’s qualities, but the inner box is a plain black box that is tied together with a ribbon. It’s worth mentioning that I could not, for the LIFE of me, get this inner box to come out of purple, outer box. I ended up ripping apart the outer purple box in order to get inside this. Inside the plain black box is a tray that holds your three Ami’s included a little piece of cardboard that tells you which one is which. There’s a ribbon that allows you to pull up the little tray and see the instruction manual for these toys. The instructions are nice and detailed and included the cleaning, product specs, the point of kegal exercises, what the difference in the Amis are, and how to use your Amis for the best results.

I’m ridiculously impressed by these vaginal exercisers in their design. I mean *impressed*. The vaginal exercisers themselves are made from this soft, slightly plushy silicone that is amazingly smooth and is so slick that I can see my fingerprint oil on the surface if my hands are slightly greasy (from food) after I’ve eaten. The body of all of the three exercisers is pure, soft silicone, and the “end caps” of each one is plastic. The material specs of the Je Joue Ami (in the instructions) only list silicone and ABS plastic as the materials, so I assume that the retrieval strings are just strong lines of silicone. The retrieval strings are amazingly strong. I’ve yanked on those things like you would not believe (during actual use and just to see if they break), and while they stop stretching after a bit, I’ve had no problem with even thinking they might break. They’re amazingly strong. They also are attached to the Ami through the plastic piece. (If I had to guess, they’re run through the plastic piece), so there’s no chance of it just “snapping” off.

So how does this set work? You’re supposed to work your way up. You start with Ami 1, then move to Ami 2, then move to Ami 3. Each one of the Amis is unique from one another. Ami 1 is one ball and is lighter than all the rest. Ami 2 is progressively heavier (and heavier than the FunFactory Smartballs and LELO Luna beads) and has two bulbs. The two bulbs are slightly small in size than the Ami 1 but not by much. The Ami 3 is the “big daddy” of these toys. It has two bulbs, and the bulbs are smaller than the Ami 2’s were. It also jumps in weight to one of the heavier silicone vaginal exercisers out there. (I don’t know any glass weight for exercisers, so I’m only comparing to silicone.)

I attempted to do a comparison with size and shape with some of the other vaginal exercisers I own. I have since thrown out the packaging for my Teneo Uno and Teneo Duo, so I’m not too much help, personally, on either of those. The LELO Luna Beads have two different ball weights. The LELO site lists them separately, but I’ll be listing them with both ball weights added together. The lighter set from LELO is 56 grams and the heavier set is 74 grams in weight. The Ami 1 is 47 grams, the Ami 2 is 78 grams, and the Ami 3 is 106 grams. This means that the Ami set starts off lighter and ends up heavier as well. From what I’ve felt with my Teneo Smartballs, the Ami set also is heavier as well.

So how do they actually work? Well, I’m pretty much in love. Really. They are pretty much perfect. The Ami 1 was the lightest of the three, and I used that one for a bit, but it wasn’t too challenging for me. You could feel it moving around really nicely, and the large size and light weight made it really easy to retain. The second Ami is challenging for me. It’s smaller in size, and it’s a lot heavier. I can retain this one for awhile, but I can’t do any sort of large physical activity, and my muscles start to get sore after six hours or so. The Ami 3 is the hardest of them all. In the beginning, I can do movement and such with it in, but after a couple hours, my muscles are sore and it’s hard to keep in. The Ami 3 is easily the hardest out of the three, and it’s going to take a bit to master this one.

The silicone on all three balls makes them easier to retain than if they were glass, but they aren’t quite as easy to retain as if they were textured. The retaining difficulty changes with the one you use as well. The Ami 1 is very plushy in its silicone, the Ami 2 is slightly plushy, while the Ami 3 just basically feels like it’s just a light covering of silicone over the base insides.

They’re so comfortable too! On the two sets that have two balls, the middle of the two balls is not rigid; it’s actually just a shell of silicone that holds the two balls together. That means that it moves really comfortably with me during use; there’s nothing hard or rigid that keeps them at the exact same shape. If you have good Kegal muscles, the lighter ones could be used during physical exercise to add extra stimulation, but I wouldn’t do that unless you know you can retain it. (especially if you are trying in public)

Are they stimulating in use? They’re okay. I wouldn’t call it orgasmic or anything, but you can definitely feel them moving around. It really depends on which Ami you try. The 1 and 2 are the most stimulating while the 3 can definitely be felt in its weight, but the inner balls don’t move around too much. I wouldn’t call it sexually pleasurable in itself, but I would say that it could be sexual just because you’re increasing blood flow to those muscles and bringing attention to the area.

What about the noise? They are pretty much undetectable. If you happened to be doing jumping jacks with them it while in the quietest place on the place, someone might here. However, if you live on planet Earth and are doing regular activities, no one is going to hear these. The Ami 1 is the loudest of the three since the weight moves around more due to being lighter and the larger ball size allows it more room to move. It provides a slight knocking sound when shook (but not in use). The Ami 3, because of the heavy weights and small size, produces no sound at all. The Ami 2 produces something only if you get really violent with your shaking. During use, though, no one can hear these.

I’m not sure why another reviewer says that these can’t be boiled. The instruction manual clearly says that these vaginal balls can be boiled, but it does recommend only boiling for about twenty seconds. Because of the small retrieval string and the small bit of plastic, this may just be for the toy’s own good, but it can be boiled. I don’t know, honestly, if twenty seconds would be enough for complete sterilization though, but it would be enough to clean it. Otherwise, it can be washed with warm water and antibacterial soap. Only use water-based lubricants on the Ami. For storage, I highly, highly recommend the original box. It works great for keeping them safe.

The JeJoue Ami vaginal exercisers? Just perfect! If you have any interest in doing vaginal exercises, I’d have a hard time recommending anything but these. I’m considering purchasing my mother a set to help with her kegal muscles (which deteriorate with age), but I’m still split on that decision. Either way, whether you are just curious and want to try a set or whether you just want to try something really challenging, the JeJoue Ami has you covered.
