The System JO H20 Cherry Flavored Lubricant is a SystemJO product that comes in fun flavors intended for use for oral sex. I have the Cherry Burst flavor, but it also comes in Raspberry, Strawberry, Banana, Chocolate, Peaches, Lemon, Pineapple, Pomegranate, Tangerine, Tropical Fruit, and Watermelon. The bottle is 5.25 fluid ounces and is safe for use with latex (condoms). The bottle has a unique pop-top lid that actually makes it stand out compared to others. It comes with a tape-seal that lets you know if the lubricant has been tampered with. My bottle is good until March 2013, so I assume it lasts about 4 years.
The ingredients are: Propyl Paraben, Methyl Paraben, Sodium Carboxy Methyl Cellulose, Glycerin, Purified Water, Cherry Flavor. If you have sensitivities to parabens or glycerin, this lubricant is not for you – especially considering the large amounts of both ingredients in this lubricant.
I’ve tried some cherry-flavored lubricants before, and some of them end up coming across as cough syrup. I mean, I want some good, tasty lubricant, but I also want it to work well as a lubricant and smell good. So far, the product to beat is “Liquid Love” products by Pipedream Products. They’ve been my favorite so far. I decided to give System JO H20 Flavored Lubricant a try after I was given a couple recommendations.
The pop-top lid makes me happy. It’s actually really unique, and I’ve never seen anything like it in a lubricant before. On the front of the bottle there is a red button. You push down the red button, and the lid actually flips open for easy usage. To close it, you just press the lid back down. Now, if you have lubricated hands or are in the middle of play, you don’t have to fumble around with the lid to a stubborn lubricant bottle. The lid shuts really nicely, and I didn’t have any issues with leaking of the bottle. The lubricant is a bit watery; it’s more like thick water, so you do have to watch out with how fast you pour the lubricant out of the bottle. It doesn’t *fall* out, but it does come out relatively quickly if you’re not paying attention.
Cleaning it up is nice and easy too. They claim it feels like silicone lubricant, but luckily, it doesn’t clean up like silicone lubricant. Some warm water and soap gets the lubricant right off your skin. So do some of those “after sex” wipes. I actually ended up not needing to rush to the bathroom to wash it off since it felt natural and didn’t feel sticky after use. It didn’t stain the sheets, and if it gets on other products, it’s easy to wash it off those products too.
The bottle makes a lot of great claims. It says it has great taste and no aftertaste, no artificial sweetner, never sticky, and it feels like silicone lubricant. That’s a lot of bragging for one bottle of lubricant, right? Surprisingly, they hit them all pretty well, so they deserve to brag.
The cherry tastes yummy. Unlike other cherry flavors, this one manages to make the cherry taste like cherry instead of cherry-flavored cough syrup. It tastes a bit like a Jolly Rancher candy or other types of cherry-flavored hard candy. It’s actually nice and refreshing. Like the bottle states, there is actually no chemical aftertaste either. There’s no aftertaste at all! I will say that this is not something you want to ingest in large amounts. It’s yummy for a couple teaspoons, but if you slather this on in globs, you’re going to get sick of it quickly. It’s yummy, but how much chemical cherry can one person take? It easily stays yummy long enough for a bout of oral sex though. There isn’t any taste left in your mouth, and it just ends up tasting really great.
The lubricant honestly isn’t that sticky either. It really depends on how you use it. If you lather too much on and end up not using some, it dries sticky. However, if you use a moderate amount and produce enough friction that the lubricant (mostly) dries up, it ends up drying really comfortably and not with a sticky feeling to it. This is too watery for anal sex, but for vaginal sex, it ends up working pretty decently. It ends up leaving your genitals smelling like cherry until a couple hours later though which I find funny. I didn’t feel the annoying feeling of needing to instantly wash up afterwards either. It felt pretty natural for intercourse. It did require reapplication after about fifteen minutes, but that’s long enough for me to not mind reapplying it.
Of course, this shines best for oral sex. That’s why it’s flavored. It honestly does a great job with oral sex too. You can reapply for a nice slickness while licking/tasting it doesn’t bother me and actually tastes yummy. I was really fond of the bottle’s design, and it was easy to hold and dispense. Aside from not being able to use this for anal sex, I have no qualms about it. System JO H20 Flavored Lubricant is a long-lasting, good-tasting lubricant that pretty much blows all other flavored lubricants out of the water.
