The Tybo Europa is a unique, new toy. I’ve honestly never heard of it before I was offered it for review, and now that I’ve tried it, I must say that I like it. The vibrator is less than five inches tall with about a pen-sized diameter (it isn’t intended for insertion; only external use). It’s made from nickel-plated aluminum alloy, so it definitely has some heft to it as well. It has a nice color scheme that is basically just a pretty pink alternating with silver. This sex toy, much like some other sex toys, is intended to be discreet and not to stand out as a sex toy. Tybo toys are new toy releases, and they are actually exclusively sold at MyPleasure.
The packaging for the Europa is pretty neat. It basically comes in a box that is just a pull-out tray. The outer box is black and says “Tybo” on the top. The inner portion is just a tray filled with firm foam where the Europa sits. On top of the Europa sits the instruction sheet which just gives you caution information as well as directions. Which actually don’t really direct anything. It’s more of a “Use” section. I know, because when I was lost attempting to put in the batteries, this thing did not help at all. The box can easily be used for storage, and as long as you careful not to carry the box without holding to one of the sides (so the tray doesn’t slide out), it doesn’t cause a problem in the slightest.
You guys have no idea how long I stared at this toy, poked and prodded, and fought to try and figure out how to put in the batteries. It’s actually embarrassing. But basically, the Europa has a couple different parts. For one, there’s a small circle-esque base that the Europa sits in – like a display stand. After that’s removed, it just looks like a tube of lipstick and from there, you can remove the longer-end’s silver cap to reveal a curved portion and that’s where the vibrations are centered. The button to turn on the vibrations is found at the opposite end of the toy on the bottom. To insert the batteries, you actually unscrew this rounded end, and the one AA battery slips right into there without any sort of problem.
Unfortunately, the biggest downside of the Europa is the vibrations. Or, should I say, vibration. It is a single-speed vibrator which is something I normally hate in a toy – especially a luxury one. The vibration setting is equal to what you’d expect to find out of most other toys “medium” setting, and for most women, it would probably act as a tease – in fact, since the aluminum is so thick, it’s actually virtually impossible to feel unless you apply pressure. If you like feather-light touches, this one just doesn’t work. You need pressure to feel the vibrations, and when you do, the vibrations are okay for getting stimulated, but I would certainly say that most women would not be able to orgasm just from the vibrations – myself included. The vibration aren’t whisper-quiet like I was hoping – it sounds about like a regular vibrator; it can be heard in the same room, but probably not through a closed door especially if you are covered with a blanket.
Something worth mentioning is the discreet value of this toy. It honestly looks like a high-quality tube of lipstick as long as you don’t have it near the base. This is something you could definitely toss in your purse and have it look completely in-place though with your other purse items. The lid might end up slipping off though, but it seems to stay on okay unless it’s held upside-down and shaken. So if you find someway to simulate that with your purse, let me know. Sitting on a nightstand, it looks more like a piece of artwork than a vibrator – especially since everyone pictures some random 1980’s dildo as their idea of a “vibrator” – not this classy piece of technology.
This sex toy is a high-quality toy. It’s made from aluminum and handcrafted, so you know you are getting a unique product that has had some love put into it. The aluminum is slightly hefty compared to your average tube of lipstick; I’d compare this to holding three pens in your hand at once. Of course, adding a AA battery makes it a bit heavier, so you’d have to throw a fourth pen into that stack. The neat thing about the material, though, is that it holds temperature so well and just looks gorgeous. I mean, the Jimmy Jane Little Chroma is made of the same material and costs twice as much. It’s an expensive, luxury material. For temperature play, you can easily heat it up or cool it down in water before play to add a new sensation. (When it sits at room temperature, it tends to be cold upon touch, so warm it up before using it. Unless you like that sensation of course.)
The more this sat around, the more this grew on me surprisingly. At first, I was unimpressed by the single-speed vibration. I mean, to spend good money on a sex toy and only have it be single speed would just annoy the crap out of me. But it’s gorgeous. And it looks like art. And it stands tall – like any sex toy should. And it looks gorgeous. So I could *almost* forgive it for only have one-speed of vibrations. I could even forgive it enough to love it for teasing, but to use other things for orgasm. That surprised me. Because in my logical mind, I hate seeing a one-speed vibe. They annoy me. But in my “It’s so pretty!” logic, this toy is just too gorgeous to hate.
You know what one of my favorite parts of this toy is? The display stand. I don’t own any other toy that has a display stand. As someone who loves convenience, even if I’m not epic-amazed by the vibration levels, I’ll probably use this anyway just because it can easily sit next to my common areas (or the bedroom) while standing up high and proud. You know that notice that your lipgloss makes when you pull the wand out of the tube? I love that this sex toy makes that noise too. It makes that “pop” when you pull off the lid or pull it out of the base. The base doesn’t recharge or anything though – it is just purely for aesthetic use.
Couple notes: For those with children, unlike other vibes, this vibrator does have a base and a lid that come off extremely easily for children to nom nom on. Keep this away from anywhere where a child could get ahold of it. Another note: For those with nickel sensitivities, this is covered in nickel. I’m allergic to nickel jewelry, and it will turn my skin green, but no adverse affects or anything even remotely bad happened with me with use of this vibrator.
Care for this toy is pretty easy. You’re supposed to clean it with antibacterial soap and some warm water, and since the toy is waterproof, it’s not difficult to clean. The instructions say this work better with a condom, but I’m honestly not sure how. As for lubricants, both water-based and silicone-based lubricants are safe for the toy. The instructions say to keep this away from children, not to use it on open wounds, and to stop using it if it’s painful. My instructions, how helpful you are.
Overall, the Europa is a nice toy if you are looking for a high-end luxury vibrator that looks gorgeous, is easy to store, and is made of body-safe material. However, it isn’t amazing if you are looking for a strong, powerful toy if you require strong vibrations for orgasm. It really depends on what you need in your sex toy. Either way, this adult store is the exclusively carrier of the Tybo Europa, so if you think you’d like it, pick it up.
