The case of the vibrating pen

I’m a sucker for all things discreet, so I’ve been on a hunt to find some neat discreet vibrators. Unfortunately, it seems to be a little harder than I thought it would be. YourHotKitty, a new sex toy store, offered to let me have this neat vibrating pen for review.

The Plume Vibrating Faux Pen is a discreet sex toy that vibrates. It looks like it is in the shape of a pen, so if kept in your purse, no one would know any differently. The pen looks about like a regular pen except in in the middle, it unscrews the top half from the bottom half so you can load the battery in. The entire pen is made from plastic, and I’m sad to report that the pen itself doesn’t actually write anything – it just vibrates. I was saddened by that since I think I’d find this amusing to take to class to do homework with.

The vibrating pen sitting in the case

The storage for this case is definitely one of the best parts of it. When shopping for a high-quality pen, a lot of them come in gorgeous cases that are lined with some satin or soft material. This cute discreet vibrator also comes in a cute case like that. It’s a black, high-quality case that includes the word “Plume” on the top of the lid of the case. There’s a sticker on the side of the case that keeps it together, and I honestly wish it would have been easier to pull off. Otherwise, it’s a cute case that seems pretty high-quality and will easily protect the pen when it isn’t in use.

So, as I mentioned, the pen itself doesn’t write at all which was pretty disappointing. It does, however, vibrate. It takes one AAA battery, and all you have to do is unscrew the top from the pen itself and slide in the battery. It’s not difficult to do at all, and after you tighten it all of the way, you can push down the button at the top of the pen to make it vibrate. If you just push down the button, it will continue to vibrate as long as the button is held down. If you continue to hold down the button for two seconds, it will continue to vibrate even after you let go of the button. I recommend you let the pen continually vibrate since, if you just hold down the button, it’s very variable as to whether it will stay vibrating or not – it goes from vibrating to not vibrating.

The pen being held in my hand

The vibrations only have one steady medium-low vibration setting. It’s nothing very amazing, honestly. It’s also moderately loud. It’s definitely not whisper quiet by any means. If used in a public bathroom or another open setting like that, this could definitely be heard. It could be heard through a closed door unless music or some other noise was playing.

I honestly don’t see this pen lasting for a very long time. It’s not a horrible pen, but it just isn’t very high quality either. I can see this working as a great gag gift for closer friend without seeming creepy. It comes at a great price, and although I must say that I wouldn’t consider this as a long-term investment, it’d be a neat little toy if you are looking for something to stuff into your purse for some discreet play. If you really want to get this discreet sex toy, YourHotKitty sells it. If you’d like, go purchase the Plume Vibrating Faux Pen.
