LELO Dare Me Pleasure Set

The Dare Me Pleasure Set is a new LELO bondage kit that includes a set of items for bondage-induced pleasure. Inside the kit, you’ll get the LELO Beads Noir, the LELO Sensua Suede Whip, and the LELO Etherea Silk Cuffs. Each of these items can be bought separately, but this kit packages them together in the same box. By using EdenFantasys current prices, you save $10 by purchasing all three items in the kit as opposed to buying each one separately. All of the items come packaged in a gift-box looking packaging.

Unlike other LELO items, the Dare me Pleasure Set comes in a black, sturdy box. Instead of the outer cardboard box, though, the Pleasure Set purely comes with a cardboard slipcover that easily slides off. Once the slipcover is off, the regular black box just says “LELO” on the cover, so it is a bit more discreet. However, as the box is very simple to open, I still wouldn’t leave it anywhere where prying eyes could easily get curious. The packaging is very thorough, and it looks very luxurious. It does a good job of holding all of the items and showing them off nicely too. Inside the box, there is a completely pointless slice of cardboard that says “Dare Me”, but I guess it’s to improve the luxurious look of the set.

As this is a kit, I’ll review each item separately and then let you know how well the items work together.

The LELO Mini Luna Beads Noir are black versions of the Mini Luna Beads. You definitely need to wash these before first use because they will come covered in the leather fragments from the flogger. The weird thing about the Luna Beads Noir is that, unlike the rest of the Luna Beads, this set only comes with one set of vaginal weights. You can’t switch out these weights to a different heaviness. Considering this, if all you’re after for in this set is the balls, splurge the extra $10 and get the Luna Mini Pleasure Bead system to have two interchangeable sets of weights.

As for use, the vaginal balls are pretty easy. They insert simply, and like all LELO toys, the silicone surface of the silicone girdle feels really nice against the skin. The vibrations of the inner, weighted ball sound a bit loud compared to other vaginal balls, but unless it’s very, very, VERY quiet, it would not be heard. If it is that quiet and you’re being very active, though, the noise of the balls moving could be slightly heard. So keep this in mind. As for sensation, these balls aren’t too challenging to keep in (but I’ve used vaginal balls in the past as well), but you can feel some sensation while wearing them. It isn’t orgasmically intense, but it’s enough to keep you aware that the weights are in. For me, personally, the weights are too light to do much vaginal strength training, but if you’re new to vaginal exercisers, I think the size and weight should be about right.

The Etherea Silk Cuffs are okay. They are probably my least favorite part of the set. These cuffs are basically just a long strand of a satin material, and in the middle that material, there’s a thicker strap of suede that’s been threaded through it. There are no hooks or anything like that, and the cuffs must be manually tied onto the wrists. This is where things get a bit annoying. If you tie the cuffs onto the wrists and actually want the ties to stay there, your best bet is to make a knot. But have you ever tried to get a knot out of satin after someone’s been tightening on it for the last twenty minutes? It’s not easy. At all. So doing it that way is a pain. So your best bet is to understand that the cuffs will be relatively escapable and only make a tie instead of a knot.

After you actually get the cuffs on the wrists, though, you’re led to the next problem. How do you use them for bondage instead of pretty jewelry? Well, you can tie the cuffs to each other, but then you’re left with the same problem of the knots getting tight. You can tie them to external bondage points, but again, satin makes tight knots. You just have to expect to spend some extra time unknotting the cuffs after you’re done using them if you plan on putting any knots in any of the satin area of the cuffs.

The LELO Sensua Suede Whip is a nice flogger (it’s a flogger, not a whip), but be forewarned that it is definitely intended as a bedroom flogger and not a hard-core kink one. The flogger handles extremely easily, though, and the handle, while slick, has the bulb on the end to keep it from slipping out of your hands. The leather tails feel extremely sensual, and unless you really try your damndest, you’re going to have a hard time causing much pain or leaving marks. For the most part, LELO Sensua Suede Whip is going to cause more of a thuddy sensation than a painful one, and because of that, it’s definitely suitable for beginners and advanced users.

Something to keep in mind about this small flogger is that the leather sheds pretty badly. The shedding does slow down quite a bit the longer you have the flogger, but when you first get the flogger, expect to see leather bits pretty much everywhere. If you’re concerned about having leather sheddings all over, I recommend taking this flogger straight to the trash can when you receive it, and shaking and running your fingers through the tails. That will get rid of a lot of the initial leather sheddings. Not all of them, but a lot of the initial ones.

As far as the full set goes, it’s a pretty nice set. You’d have to be semi-blind to not notice that this kit is based around the premise and characters from the 50 Shades of Grey line, but it works well for the kit. You get to try out some vaginal exercisers, a flogger for light spankings, and some cuffs for restraint. Each one goes together pretty nicely as a set, and the flogger and cuffs go together best. The LELO Mini Luna Beads can be used during sexual play (and many enjoy them that way too), but you’ll want to keep in mind that they can be used regularly to strengthen the vaginal muscles too.) Since the kit is slightly cheaper than buying each one separately, you save money that way as well.

To clean this set, it depends on which item you’re trying to clean. When it comes to the vaginal balls, you can easily use warm water and antibacterial soap to clean them. They can also be stanitized in boiling water if need be. For the flogger and cuffs, you can only really use a gently wet washcloth to wipe down the material as leather and silk really don’t like the chemicals of common house soap very much. As those two items most likely won’t get too dirty, though, as long as you consider them fluid-bonded, you shouldn’t have much of an issue with it.

Overall, while each of the individual items has their flaws, overall, I still recommend this beginner bondage kit. Why? Because it’s high-quality, looks luxurious, and most importantly, actually looks like a treat to be spoiled with. When someone is considering diving into kinky play or bondage play but is afraid of their partner’s reaction, this kit looks about as non-threatening as it possibly could look. If you know your partner would be into kink and play, this one may not be suitable, but for someone who is nervous or scared? I don’t think there’s a different kit I’d recommend over this one.
