It will hold up to a weight limit of 300 pounds, but make sure that your door and door frame is prorated to hold 300 pounds as well. The packaging for this door sex swing is pretty basic, but it’s also pretty large. It comes in a weight box that clearly displays multiple pictures of a couple using the swing. This actually makes it pretty easy to get some inspiration for positions to try with the door sex sling. The packaging also will work for storage as the cardboard box is pretty sturdy, but do be aware that it has sexual content (no nudity, though!) on it that is not discreet.
Before I even go into the review, I’ll say this: Something to definitely keep in mind is your door strength. Doors and door frames are made of different materials. Just like that one “pull-up bar” that was popular on TV and attached to the door frame which then caused people to pull down their door frames, you NEED to make sure that your door frame can handle the weight before you play on it. The SWING may hold up to 300 pounds (which is does), but your door may not. It also goes without saying, but always have the door closed before putting weight in the swing; it gives the door more support. And like any type of suspension, test the weight first before you start having sex on it. Try putting some weight, and see how it handles. Put on more weight. Observe again. Then try rough movement with said weights; always test your suspension points (also a rule in rope bondage as well!) before playing on them. Doors are meant to be walked through – not climbed upon, so making sure your door and door frame can handle the weight MUST be your number one priority! THEN you can enjoy fun sex! :)
Setting up this door sex swing is easy. In fact, the instructions are right on the box if you forget. You just put the tubes over the door, close and lock the door, and then get into the swing itself. The two tubes tend to be slightly a pain to get them to go over at the same time, but with everythng considered, it’s a very easy set-up. Getting into the swing is much more difficult than setting it up, and it recommends that you put your thighs in then slide the arms into the handles for the hands. It takes a couple tries of getting in and out to really master getting in and out, so expect a bit of fumbling at the beginning. Once you’ve learned how best to balance and such though (about four times, for us), everything goes much more smoothly.
The straps themselves are pretty wide, but it still will be slightly uncomfortable. This isn’t the door sex swing’s fault. You’re basically putting your entire body weight on your two hands and your two thighs; it’s capable of holding your weight, but it will put uncomfortable pressure on areas that you may not be used to. We find that it helps to really try and put as much weight as possible up against the door to help relieve some of the weight support of the straps. In particular, having a partner help hold you up helps a ton too, as they take the pressure off of the straps as well. The woman on the cover of the box, though (with her legs wide spread and arms holding her up) was probably not all that comfortable, and without someone there to help hold her up, I sincerely doubt she could have held that sex position for long.
The straps are all adjustable as well. In case you aren’t tall enough or just want an easier time getting into the sex swing, the Fetish Fantasy Series Door Sex Swing will adjust to you. It takes a bit to adjust the straps lower, but all you have to do is tug on a strand to make everything go higher up, so getting into the sex swing and adjusting it higher to the best height is extremely simple.
For sex itself, this one isn’t just for us. I just don’t have the upper body strength to hang out in this for a long time. But I could see it being much better for others. It really helps if you have a partner that can help hold up the person in the swing. The swing works for holding up the person, but it isn’t too comfortable for long-term without someone to help hold you up. For getting in unique sex positions, though, it makes a huge difference. You can get a partner hanging in the air without any drilling, and you can easily take it down after you’re done without any issue. For people who don’t want to make permanent home changes or have to explain odd ceiling fixtures, this works wonders. It also works for those who want a cheaper version of a sex swing since most sex swings are $100 or more, and that’s not including the ceiling hardware. So there is definitely a use for the door sex swing.
Personally, it turns out that our doors are a bit weak. They didn’t particularly like some of the positions we tried on them. Any positions that had a low center-of-gravity towards the bottom of the door tended to be concerning. With weight more balanced out between the arms and legs, though, the door was much more forgiving. Keeping in mind that our door is made of some of that “cheap” wood and doesn’t look sturdy in the first place, I’m pretty sure most people’s wooden doors would have no issues with holding someone up. Watching out weight is distributed along the door frame seems to make the most difference, so that’s something to keep in mind before purchasing your door sex swing.
If you want to clean this door love swing, you’ll want to use warm water and antibacterial soap and gently wipe down all of the straps. You really can’t put this in the wash, so you’ll have to wipe it down by hand. I recommend keeping it between regular fluid-bonded partners because it can’t be sterilized. Just wipe it and the door down afterwards, and you should be fine.
Overall, so is it good? Yeah, I’d recommend this Door Sex Swing. Understand that it’s not “instant-hot-sex!”, and you’ll need to take some time to learn how to get into sexy positions, and it’s totally fun – and definitely worth a few laughs in the beginning! You can get some really unique positions that aren’t possible on the ground, and it’s a good quality sex swing that’s also affordable.
