UPDATE APRIL 2023: These bondage restraints are no longer available. This sex toy review remains for anyone who is curious about it. While you’re here, why not check out some additional educational info – like online submissive tasks, beginner pegging positions, saran wrap bondage, and enema 101 info.

The Inked Restraints set are neoprene cuffs designed by California Exotics. With a pink and black theme and featuring a little dragon design on each cuff, the cuffs are made from neoprene, nylon, zinc, iron, and velcro. The cuffs include removable O-rings as well as a small clip that will allow you to clip the two restraints together for bondage purposes.

The Inked Restraints are pretty basic in design. Each one of the cuffs is made from neoprene and fastens with velcro. The velcro allows you to easily adjust exactly how tight or loose you would like the cuffs to be. As you could guess, the ankle restraints are larger in size than the wrist restraints, so if you have larger-than-average wrists, you may consider just getting the ankle restraints to work for your wrists.

The fasteners

The cuffs do end up being a bit stiff. With a bit of use, I’m pretty sure they’ll get less stiff, but when you first get them, expect them to be a bit stiff and not curve and bend as nicely as you’d like. It doesn’t lead to any discomfort while wearing the cuffs at all, but it does mean that they don’t feel nearly as soft or comfortable as they COULD feel. However, the cuffs are not uncomfortable, and they don’t scratch the skin; they aren’t something my submissive said that he’d want to stay in all day (with how stiff they are right now), but he said that they didn’t bother or irritate him while he was wearing them, either.

Along with the stiffness, one of the bigger issues we had with these cuffs is that they have a rubber smell to them. This is probably because of the neoprene material, but we don’t usually have this issue with neoprene cuffs. Leaving them out in circulating air helped a ton, so just don’t expect to have a nice scent straight out of the box, and you should be fine. The scent remains even after airing it out, so we tend to avoid these cuffs since we have ones that are scentless, but if you really liked the cuffs, I do believe the scent will go away with use and as it airs out.

The design on the cuffs is pretty cute! It shows a pink, ferocious-looking dragon on each one fo the cuffs. The design appears to be ironed on (I think?), so it doesn’t come off when I pick at it with my fingernails. However, it might come off if you launder it regularly or if you’re really hard on the cuffs.

The Inked Restraints give you some pretty decent opportunities. I wouldn’t say they are plentiful, but the two O-rings mixed with the clip on one of the cuffs can be mixed together for good bondage scenarios. You can use rope or other fasteners to the O-rings on the cuffs, and you also can cuff the two cuffs together using the one clasp that is connected to one of the O-rings. The O-rings are really just sturdier versions of keychain rings, so they also can be removed from the nylon loops they’re in as well. I’d be careful about how much stress you place on the cuffs, though, to avoid them tearing.

Another view of the design

These cuffs are definitely something I’d recommend more to beginners than advanced players. The velcro aspect is something that many people who like “inescapable” bondage probably won’t enjoy while the metal portions may not be strong enough to hold up to rough tugging.

However, I would probably recommend these to advanced players over inescapable leather ones for sleep use. Another place they win over regular leather cuffs? Shower use or for bodily fluids. Neoprene is waterproof, so they can deal with water, omorashi, enemas, and diaper play a lot better than your average leather cuffs.

To clean these restraints, you’ll want to use warm water and antibacterial soap. As they can’t be sterilized, make sure to keep them away from bodily fluids if you intend on sharing these cuffs with other partners. For storage, they really can be stored however you like, but I recommend keeping them stored in a circular-like shape like they’d be on a wrist in order to help soften up the material.

Overall, these cuffs aren’t the best neoprene cuffs out there, but they’re okay as long as you give them a little love, care, and time. If you particularly are smitten with the pink design and the dragon design, they aren’t a horrible purchase, and they will do a pretty decent job at restraining and being comfortable. Thanks to California Exotics for providing these restraints for my Inked Wrist Restraints review and Inked Ankle Restraints review.
