Fashionistas Whip

Fashionistas Whip

The Fashionistas Whip is a leather and glass whip made by Fashionistas and sold by FunWares. The insertable portion of the flogger (the handle) is about five inches while the entire total length of the flogger is about twenty two inches. The handle has about a half-inch diameter, and the flogger does not feature a hanging strap like many floggers do.

The packaging for this leather whip is a large and long box that has the flogger laying out flat. The packaging is much larger than the flogger itself, so unless you have a particular reason for keeping it, it might be easier to just keep the flogger without the packaging. The flogger does not, like most do, have a hanging strap, though, so you will not be able to hang up this flogger.

The design of this flogger is intended to allow this bdsm impact toy to be both an insertable flogger as well as a regular leather flogger. The leather tails come out from the handle, and the handle is made from a slick glass with a silver-like designed etched into the surface of the flogger. The leather tails themselves are softened, and they have a straight cut to the end of each one of the tails. There are quite a few tails as well, and the tails are about three times as long as the length of the handle, but overall, this is still a pretty compact flogger compared to other dungeon floggers.

The design on the handle is beautiful! The rest of the Fashionistas line seems to have fairies on the designs of their glass, but this one has a bit more of a basic design. It has a floral-like design that wraps around the handle of the glass flogger. It’s a pretty basic pattern that looks like it might belong on a bathroom wall or something, but it’s a very pretty pattern, and it looks like. As a plus, unlike the fairy designs of the other Fashionistas sex toys, I don’t feel bad about thinking of this as an insertable flogger as it doesn’t have any “fairies” on it.

As an insertable handle, it’s alright. I certainly wouldn’t reach for it if I had other sex toys. Why? Well, it’s just too thin and short. If there’s a dildo around, it will hit the spots a lot better than this insertable handle would. However, if you don’t have any other insertable toys around, this one could be used. It’s glass, straight-handled with absolutely no texture to it, and as long as the recipient is aroused and lubricated (assuming this is a vagina we’ll be inserting it into), the glass dildo handle really doesn’t need any lubricant to be able to be inserted.

For handling, the tails move together really, really nicely, and you rarely have a straggler who refuses to stay with the pack. The handle is JUST long enough for my hands without being too long (which means it might be too small for male hands), and the flogger handles really naturally and without too much weight to it. The handle is much heavier than the tails, but with this flogger, it actually ends up working out alright. The flogger isn’t too large, so it doesn’t require a lot of room to be able to use this flogger, so it would be suitable for small-apartment living.

The biggest downfall of the flogger is that it has the glass handle. I absolutely love the handle, and it looks absolutely stunning, but as most people know, dungeons can get pretty sweaty, and the act of flogging in itself can get your wrist sweaty (especially if you find it arousing as the body tends to get sweatier then). For that reason, the glass does get pretty darned slick if you tend to get sweatier hands, and when the glass gets slick, you’re in danger of accidentally letting go of the handle or letting the flogger “fly”. While I hate them on most floggers, I would have loved to see a wrist strap for this flogger to ensure more safety with using the Fashionistas Whip.

The design of the handle of the Fashionistas Whip

If you’ll be the one on the receiving end of this flogger, it’s not nearly as painful as you’d think. As long as you have a trained dominant handling the flogger and the tails move as a group (with no wrap-around), the tails are actually only slightly stingy. Like the Fashionistas Riding Crop, the Fashionistas Whip makes a lot more noise than the actual pain it delivers. If you put full-strength into it, it can get pretty stingy, but with regular use, it’s only going to be moderately stingy. I’d say it’s definitely suitable for a beginner as long as you, as a beginner, can manage to keep hold of the handle of the flogger.

For cleaning, you’ll want to use a slightly damp washcloth to wipe down the tails of this flogger. For the handle, you can clean it like you would regular glass with soap and water but beware of getting the tails covered in soap. For storage, with previous no-hanging-strap floggers, I’ve been able to use a string to hang it up. As the handle of this one is pretty smooth, that doesn’t really work. You’ll have to lay out this flogger straight somewhere in order to store it because of the lack of a strap.

Overall, I like the Fashionistas Flogger. I wish that it had a handling strap for piece of mind, but the design of the flogger itself is pretty damn gorgeous. The flogger is small in size which works for cramped areas, and the tails are relatively “oops”-friendly. I’d definitely recommend this for a couple that wants to try out floggers, whip, and kink, but they want to get a beautiful toy for their first try. (The look of this flogger could probably convince a lot of people to try it!) Thanks to FunWares for providing this insertable flogger for my Fashionistas Whip review.
